    Happiness Of The Godly

    Psalm 1:1-6

    1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

    2. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

    3. And he shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

    4. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaft which the wind driveth away.

    5. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

    6. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Oh My !!!! You can't unread this.

Well I guess we can forget about Sons and Daughters prophesying now, unless of course they are approved by "The Church"

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present thyself approved to God, a workman without cause for shame, rightly dividing [dissecting] the word of truth.

    Chris,

It is true that there were some in the early church who believed in a pre-tribulation rapture. The most consistent view in the church over the centuries was that the rapture happens on the Last Day, as Jesus said in Luke 21:27; Matthew 24:29-31. Even Daniel was told that he would arise on the Last Day in Daniel 12:13. This is why I believe that Jesus comes back only once again and will gather believers to Himself on the Last Day.

Polycarp and Irenaeus may have spoken in regards to a pre-trib rapture, but the modern view in dispensationalism as promoted by Darby and Scofield are not identical to what Polycarp and Irenaeus taught. The interpretation of Darby is what is promoted and believed by many believers today. His theory began in the 1800's.

Scientists understand very little , God hid from them his creation it says in the scriptures, he knows what they would do if they had it .

Men are deceived into thinking they can do almost any thing . Scriptures tell us we can not change the color of our hair , why worry about the rest ?

I often think God must laugh at man's vain attempts. How about climate change for example

Have no faith in men or their logic . It's all vanity . In light of truth .

    The Witness Of John

    John 1:6-13

    6. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

    7. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

    8. He was not the Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

    9. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

    10. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

    11. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

    12. But as many as received him, to them gave he that believe on his name:

    13. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Testimony Of John The Baptist

    John 1:19-28

    19. And this is the record of John when the Jews sent priest and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

    20. And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed,I am not Christ.

    21. And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not, Art thou that prophet? And he answered, no.

    22. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

    23. He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias .

    24. And they were sent were of the Pharisees.

    25. And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptized thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

    26. John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

    27. He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to loose.

    28. These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

    Hey Giannis,

I have been to many different denominations of churches, and the ones that are close to me now since I am old are more concerned with entertainment and attendance than the truth of God's word. There are 6 different denominations of churches within 1 mile of me and for 18 years there has been no knock on my door from any. All of my family are gone and the people I meet in places I shop and a site like this is my gathering place.

I have not given much of my testimony about my life and what I have gone through and what the Lord has brought me through and what I have seen, I have no doubt the Holy Spirit abides in me. I have had discussions on this site, even with you and I have always tried not ever to imply I am right, and you are wrong. I have always written in love and tried to inspire one to study for their understanding, not mine.

There are Godly teachers out there but there are also many that are not and if we do not study, that is what we have been told to do and try the spirits. I may not agree with someone's understanding, I know some have disagreed with mine, but if someone presents something different than our understanding and if we do not with an open mind study it to try the spirit and just say theirs is wrong and mine is right and if we do not let the Holy Spirit show us the truth, we fall short.

It is not, my Church is better than your Church, it is one body, and that body is not in a building. If we disagree, may we communicate in respect and love for each other as brothers and sisters in Jesus the Christ our Savior and study for the truth even if we find we were wrong we should praise God we were shown the truth.

If the Holy Spirit shows us the truth, it is up to us to accept it even if it is different from what we have been taught. He who has ears to hear let him hear. A closed mind has no ears and cannot hear. The search for Truth is a wonderful journey that starts with humbling ourselves.

    God bless,

    RLW

Thanks for your comment. I have no argument at all with your comment in any way. However, I think this "certain" young man has significance. Could it be that he is mentioned again in other places and again not identified? There's nothing in my belief that hinges on this one word of this one scripture and I have no desire to argue or disagree with anyone. I'm just curious and have always wondered about this "certain young man" in this passage. He was following Jesus in the literal sense and the other young men laid hold on him, but not anyone else. The disciples were there and they did not lay hold on them. What was unique or what did this one young man do that caused them to attempt to lay hold on him? Where did he flee to? Just curious.

This story is about Jesus Christ, my Saviour. I have no desire to get away from that - just curious in that there's nothing at all insignificant in the scriptures.

I am adding this, so I am not to be misunderstood.

With the phrase "day of the Lord" the Bible refers to 3 different dates:

    1. the rupture, which to me it seems to take place before the antichrist makes his appearance in the world, when things are still going well, so people deal with their everyday works as usual. This is something that can not be possible at the end of the 7 year tribulation period where so many catastrophies will take place and people will be scared to death.

    2. the second coming of Jesus on earth to fight the antichrist with his army at Armagedon.

    3. In those verses in 2 Peter 3:8-10 it is implied that the day of the Lord is at the end of the millenium.

So 3 different dates are called the same name, "the day of the Lord"

Those verses in Peter are very confusing to understand, if the millenium is a literal period of time. How come the Lord comes as a thief in the night when we know when the end of the millenium is, and the saints are already ruling the world?

Personally, I don't believe that the millemium is a figurative event like the Ortodoxes believe. So the only solution is that "day of the Lord" are called all 3 different dates. Same name, different dates.

    Revelation 21 Eternity

I would like to look at this book with a LITERAL approach. When we consider the verse in 2 Peter 3:10 we see the same word for smallest particle (signifying an atom) as being dissolved.

Scientists; of course understand the basic structure of the atom and that it is held together by various forces; but ultimately don't understand WHY these exist; along with the concept of decay and or death based on the 2nd law of thermodynamics; gravity; and of course what happened BEFORE the universe came into existence. It seems clear here that when this event occurs; that there is a reconfiguration of the solid matter; and such a fire would immediately vaporize the oceans. (verse 1). When we see in verse 2 a city with these literal dimensions coming down to earth that would facilitate a final change in the structure of the earth and clearly make Jerusalem visible worldwide (being over 1000 miles high.)

Since God follows a logical sequence; we see how when in the vial judgments all life in the sea perished; we have a lifeless ocean that is now completely removed. The prophecy in Ezekiel 47:10-12 shows how fish proliferate in the inland sea area of the Dead Sea during the Millennium and likely beyond as well; with water from the heavenly city brining fresh water to revitalize things (as already is starting to occur).

Verses 3 through 4 show how until this point tears are still part of the lives at least of mortal men. Those who are righteous and stand before the throne seeing all these things happen at the last judgment surely will be overcome with emotion. Their tears are wiped away; and finally there is no mor death; mourning; crying or pain. This reflects 1 Cor 15:26 and an even earlier verse in Hosea where death is finally defeated is mentioned later in the same chapter (v. 55-57). Again; some to justify doctrines try to make these passages symbolic.

How can we not do violence to scriptures doing this?

That Word Made His Dwelling Among Us

    John 1:14-18

    14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

    15. John bared witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

    16. And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.

    17. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

    John 1:1-5

    1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

    2. The same was in the beginning with God.

    3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

    4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

    5. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehend it not.
