Isaiah 14:12-16.
I don't know if we will ever know why or how Lucifer thought up the evil that caused him to fall. We know very little about angels and the spiritual dimension for a reason. I believe that Samiel is named in the book of Enoch or Jasher(?) or Jubilees. It says he was one of the leaders of the watcher angels who descended on Mt. Hermon to have sexual relations with human women in Genesis 6. I do not think he is the same angel as Lucifer. Others may have more information on tis. It is apocryphal information, not part of the canonical books of the Bible.
Thanks for the reminder.
be the need for our saviour, our very nature that we are born with is antagonistic against God. Even after
being born again we still fight a corrupt natural body which is worked by the five senses! Romans 7:15-25
I will pray for your situation.
Dear Lord Jesus, you know all things from start to finish. I ask that you will help Jackie's neighbors in whatever it is that they need most, especially if they need You, bring your grace and Word to them. Help Jackie and her daughter rest in peace knowing that You are their refuge and strong tower. Guide Jackie in how to reach out to these neighbors. I ask that if they are involved in criminal activity, that it will be found out by law enforcement and settled properly according to the law and justice of the courts. Put a stop to any nefarious activities they may be do or unkind thoughts these neighbors may harbor towards Jackie, her daughter and any other neighbors. We are trusting You to be present in this situation 24/7 and you ill bring it to a good end. We ask You, Jesus, all of these things, because You are our Lord and God. Amen
Lucifer who Decided to try to usurp Gods throne and became the Devil or Satan.
Born again means.
be the same as what the children of Israel did in the old testament? The only thing about Ho ho that's part truth
is that Christ was Born, the only reason gifts are given is in some circles that wise men brought gifts but
they didn't show up until he was at least 1-2 years old. Other than that the HOLY day 25th Dec. isn't
Holy in Gods Eyes, just food for thought. That being said I'm thankful that at least perhaps some people think
about Gods Word at least a little bit maybe. We are not supposed to be worldly, food for thought!
I noticed your prayer request and your question like you were looking for input from others. Assuming you are I'm happy to offer a few observations based on what you shared. I have had challenges with my own neighbors and it is really challenging to love thy neighbor and pray for them when they may seem so opposing.
Sometimes the most helpful response is not the one someone wants or expects. A few things you said makes me believe you are equally responsible for the problems with your neighbor and I will be happy to share that, assuming you want to hear it.
First, are you loving your neighbor and praying for them? You have asked for prayer and I have prayed for your situation, but have you genuinely prayed for your neighbor and how to be more loving as the Bible teaches? Have you prayed for their salvation? James 4:12, Luke 6:32, Matthew 5:44, Mark 12:31.
Next, there is nothing wrong with security cameras. They are an important deterrant to criminals.
You said you were able to see in their window and read a poster. Were you snooping and peeking through your neighbors windows at their private things? If so, that seems very wrong.
I believe you called your neighbors adversaries, but they're not supposed to be enemies. The Bible says satan is your real adversary: 1 Peter 5:8.
You said they kept a package, but did you ask for it back? Maybe they were out of town. Did the company reimburse or mail another? This seems pretty easy to resolve and is a common problem.
You said they are suspicious, but maybe they think you are suspicious? If I caught someone looking in my windows that definitely be hard to get over.
To rekindle the relationship perhaps show love and lead by example- the card idea is great.
This likely wasn't what you wanted to hear, but maybe it is the helpful. God bless...
The red heifer sacrifice ( Numbers 19:1-10) was burnt far away from the Tabernacle & only its blood was sprinkled on the door of the Tabernacle, the carcass burned & its ashes stored separately & used for purification purposes. This was only a special sacrifice & has nothing to do with destruction of "our old evil nature". Even as Jesus was crucified & "suffered without the gate", his death meant that we would be saved from the awful penalty for sin & our "old Adamic nature" will always be with us & not consumed, until the day our redemption is completed.
As for the Lake of Fire, we read in Revelation 20:10-15, that the Devil was cast into the Lake of Fire & brimstone, where the beast & false prophet are & will receive eternal torment. You seem to equate the 'baptism of fire' with the 'Lake of Fire'. Not so. This a physical place of torment for the Evil one & his disciples, whoever was not found written in Book of Life. If, as you believe, that all sinners (even Christ-rejecters) will one day be saved, then who are those who join Satan in that awful place? Unless, you believe that Satan must also receive forgiveness.
Your reading & understanding of the Scriptures takes an entirely different route to most people's, even the well-studied, & creates such a wide separation where our paths can never intersect. There is very little common ground on which we can base any further discussion. Thank you for your time Alex.
The brothers told Joseph that their father would surely die of grief if Benjamin did not return with them. So, the drama continues!
I find it interesting that the text says that Joseph used the cup for divination. Was this part of his Egyptian training or was it part of the gift of dreams, and fore telling that God had given him?
I have read a lot lately on the pagan aspects of Christmas and Easter. I have always ascribed Cristian meaning to all of the ways I have celebrated these holidays as an adult.
My question to ponder is: Jews, Christians, and pagans use incense, and candles, and altars. Are we to not use these things since pagans use them? Can we not use a tree, lights, songs to celebrate the birth of Christ since pagans use these things to celebrate the solstice, saturnalia, yule, etc.?
I am interested in hearing what others have to say. I don't want to be legalistic, because I do embrace the freedom we have in Christ through His blood and so we can partake of some things with a clear conscience. I am aware of the verse that says whatever is not of faith is sin.
I welcome contributions on this subject. I am sure they will vary. Have at it folks. I'm up for learning something new from the Spirit.
Definitely worth a "look up".
This young child of 6 believes in Jesus in the best way he can right now. God will grow is faith in time. Young children believe in such a simple way. It is like Grace described: because you do grandma. This is like saying, "You said it is true and so I believe it is true. Is this not coming to Jesus in child like faith, believing it outright without questioning? This fait is good for children. As adults we have been "fed" so many other ideas we need to "weed out" untruth from our thinking.
But, as I said, I agree, with maturity comes more responsibility towards God in matters of faith. We will at times rest in the faith we have at the time, may need to contend wit outside influence that attack our faith, we will feed our faith with the Word, and we will put what the Word instructs us to do into practice. We know that the Holy Spirit is the power, sancitfier, and teacher dwelling within us to enable us to walk how God calls us to walk. He is the preserver of our faith through all of life's trials. He speaks a good and holy Word to us when we doubt. He always testifies to Jesus, so we can trust what He says. We are so blessed to have the Holy Spirit living in us! We would be lost without His work in us!
I commend you for training you son well. We, too, took our call of parenting very seriously, and I stayed home for 17 years to "mom" my family before I entered my teaching career.
These times are so different than when we were raised. The social and peer pressures that kids (and parents) face are so amplified for the generation we raised our kids and the ones that came after. We worked hard at being as pro-active as we knew how in parenting. We also were cautious about what influences we allowed to bear on our kids.
Once they got into high school things really changed for my sons. They had more freedom and were exposed to much more than we could control. We prayed for them during this time and since, but even so, they turned away from the Lord. This has been so grievous for us. But we look forward to the day they each come home to Jesus.
We want our sons to make their way in life. Sometimes, things happen where they do need a helping hand, and we do what we can. They are pretty responsible in their lives. The economy does make it harder for young people to get established than in the past. Rent is one area that is so inflated that many children really cannot afford what is charged for a place and still meet all of their other obligations. That is where we can help them by having them live at home for a while so they can save up some for a better start when they move out. We have ad them pay for everything else, but rent and utilities when they live here. But time may soon be up for them to continue to do this. My husband has another 18 months before he retires and I am now retired. We want to downsize our home to one that will work better for the years ahead since I have chronic and progressive back problems that may make it hard for me to ambulate stairs or a large home. We pray for God to find us the right lot in the right place for us to build. When this happens and we move into our little home, the guys will have to be on their own.
You can google both: "When was Jesus born?" and "Why do we celebrate Christ's birth on Dec. 25th?" I found a lot of helpful information about these questions.
During the Roman Empire, pagan religions abounded along with Christians and Jews. There were numerous pagan celebrations throughout the year. Many of these celebrations were an amalgamation of the various pagan idol stories going all the way back to Nimrod's day in Sumer shortly after the flood.
December 17-25th was celebrated as Saturnalia by many in the empire. It was coincided with winter solstice celebrations and the birth of such pagan gods as Tammuz and other son gods. the solstice was celebrated to "encourage" the rebirth of the sun, since these are the shortest days of the year.
In the time of Constantine, (300's A.D.) Christianity was welcomed in as an approved and preferred religion of the empire. In order to assist pagans into converting to Christianity, Constantine established the celebration of Christ's birth as December 2th to counter these pagan celebrations and Easter, to counter the spring equinox celebrations to Eostre, the queen of heaven and goddess of fertility.
I don't think we really know the sincerity of Constantine's heart to Christ or to convert pagans to Christianity. It may have been decided in order to maintain peace in the empire. It may have been that he was sincerely committed to his faith. He oversaw the Council of Nicea, where bishops from across the known church area met to address doctrinal issues, many of which were determined to be heretical by the council, and others re-affirmed.
This century was a big turning point for the church. Christianity was now beginning to be influenced by the government. It was a century or so later when the Christian faith was declared the faith of the empire and there was a merging of the church and state which we know as the Holy Roman Empire and Roman Catholic Church.
I hope this helps.
As told in the book of Daniel.

It's slot to read, but you'll know more than anyone in here :)
Hebrews 1, is the Faith Chapter. For without Faith it's impossible to please God. Training hopes, beliefs and raw courage__can't produce faith.
This is John Wesleys Commentary on Hebrews chapter one.
1-3 Faith always has been the mark of God's servants, from the beginning of the world. Where the principle is planted by the regenerating Spirit of God, it will cause the truth to be received, concerning justification by the sufferings and merits of Christ. And the same things that are the object of our HOPE. are the object of our FAITH.
It is a firm persuasion and expectation, that God will perform all he has promised to us in Christ. This persuasion gives the soul to enjoy those things now; it gives them a subsistence or reality in the soul, by the first-fruits and foretastes of them.
Faith proves to the mind, the reality of things that cannot be seen by the bodily eye. It is a full approval of all God has revealed, as holy, just, and good. This view of faith is explained by many examples of persons in former times, who obtained a good report, or an honourable character in the word of God. Faith was the principle of their holy obedience, remarkable services, and patient sufferings.
The Bible gives the most true and exact account of the origin of all things, and we are to believe it, and not to wrest the Scripture account of the creation, because it does not suit with the differing fancies of men. All that we see of the works of creation, were brought into being by the command of God.
[read Romans one]
That's what James is saying.
And that will manifest itself and produces good works ( by the Spirit) And true believing faith will bare fruit. The Lord came to create a new Heart and that's inward and ( Will ) reflect outward. That's the Lords doing.
God bless.
Wisdom in searching for your Life Mate
Taking Care of Your Virgin
Proverbs is a Book of wisdom in many areas of life, for both sexes. Proverbs 31 describes a godly woman. The Book of Ruth and the Book of Esther, again, women we can learn from.
Genesis 24 is a great book for those in search for a mate.
I Corinthians chapters 5 through 7: sometimes called the marriage chapters by some. It covers sexual impurity also.
I asked my son in his teens, do you want to marry a virgin, or a girl who was "experienced"?
He didn't ponder long, he said a virgin!!
I'll tell the story a female teacher said once at church. It was about why God covered the woman inside, with a hymen. It was a proof of virginity, but it also serves a purpose: It protects against diseases. You're not going to get STD's if you're saving yourself for marriage.
Our culture teaches the exact opposite. They try to force kids to choose gay, straight or in between; in grade school! You can choose Jesus's Way. That takes a lot of courage and inner strength.
The man searching for a good marriage candidate is going to honor her choice to wait, and will protect his virgin. She will love him more for doing that.
That was my take on the story in Genesis 24. If only the Church would teach that. You read it and tell me what you think about it. I'm kinda old . I know they don't do that these days; but it establishes trust

I'm weird I guess. I taught my 12 yr old son "life skills 101" until he was 16. He learned full knowledge on how to run a household, cook real meals, yard work, maintenance on a car, more.
How to shop for a household, stretch your grocery money. How to never have to wear green underwear (laundry); sew on a button. He balanced my checkbook for me, to learn budgeting, paid the bills and saw what was leftover :(
I let him work for roofing companies. Cleaning restaurants, grandpa's gas station. I told him it was to teach him the value of an education because low paying jobs are hard, sweaty and exhausting.
When he turned 21, he purchased his first house (a new one). He's 42 now; has 13+ houses he rents out and maintains. Works full time at a 9/5 job, has a family. He's amazing! He's teaching his son the same things.
You have to make a personal commitment to give a kid the best start in life. Schools and even Churches don't teach that. Parents have to do it.
He got some traffic tickets at 16. He knew I couldn't pay for them. I took him to the County Clerks office so he could pay them out. He learned to obey traffic laws, young.
I love being a parent. If we'd just obey God and not skip over the hard parts that are time consuming; we won't have to launch the kid. They'll launch themselves!
Let them work some summer jobs. Swimming pools don't teach them anything. Driving a car is big time maintenance and expense; they must learn. CUT OFF the fun money and they'll want to get a job. If they demand cool clothes and shoes; let them get part-time jobs.
You have to cease to be their source. They have to see their source is THEMSELVES.
My kid got to keep all his money and budget it. He was broke some months. He got the hang of it pretty quick. He got better paying jobs as he could.
I told him that no one can take your home or car, as long as you have a job to secure your freedom.
HE ALWAYS HAD A JOB. Protect your home.

mean you believe it in your heart.
