    Brother David0921:

You said when a believer dies his body goes to the grave to await the resurrection.

The word says unbelievers go to the grave to await the resurrection, they will be raised back in there bodies of flesh and blood.

Believers never die again, they have already died once with Christ.

Martha had the same belief as you, she said to Christ:

John 11:24 ..... I know he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

    Martha was a unbeliever.

    Jesus SAID:

    John 11:25 ..... I am the resurrection ....

John 11:26 Whosoever BELIEVETH IN ME shall NEVER DIE .....

Luke 20:36 Neither can they DIED ANYMORE:

When did they DIE? .... on the cross .....

for they are EQUAL to the angels; and are the children of God, being the CHILDREN of the RESURRECTION.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the FIRST RESURRECTION, on such the SECOND DEATH has no power .....

    God bless you

    Walking the fence (pert 3)

1 Corinthians 15:33 states that bad morals corrupts good character. We need to consider what we are opening ourselves up to with any worldly entertainment; especially with the filth available these days. I went without a TV from 2014 until early 2021 after my separation and divorce. Part of it was financial but I found that I could get information online (my cell phone being my only communication source). Now that I'm home with my parents; I still have to be cautious (even with the nearly 100 year old movies they watch quite often).

Gossip; of course is another thing to avoid. Things like this aren't really doctrines as much as moral expectations fitting of those with the Spirit and examples of the character of a new creation. It has been pointed out the situation where someone is struggling with sin and people start praying about it or discussing it. First of all; we need to ASK someone who we know if they don't mind us sharing it with others for prayer; and what parts they want to leave out. There are of course extenuating circumstances of someone who is a threat to others or harming themselves where we may need to break certain protocol. It still is better to tell someone directly that you feel this approach is needed; as well as refer someone to a more qualified individual if it is something we are not adept at handling ourselves. There are times when we want to say something but we have wisdom from God to remain silent; trusting that things will come up at the appropriate time. Trusting that the truth will always come out is helpful in our Christian walk; and also trusting that waiting and patience is often the best approach.

Greed is something all too easy to get into. I have taken another long hiatus for over a month now from coin collecting. Financial reasons is part of it but it can become an unhealthy obsession. That is a good rule to follow: any get rich quick scheme should be avoided.

    Hi One Eighty,

Good to have you back here posting.

When you say that "nothing except God can exist." that "nothing except Him is real" and that "reality is changeless" what Scripture verses can you give me that show this is true?

I know that the Bible says that God created all that exists, seen and unseen, spiritual and fleshly ( Gen. 1:1; 1:21; 1:27; Is. 54:16; Eph. 3:8-9; Col. 1:16; Jn. 1:3) making all that was created separate inn substance and being from God. God made dirt and angels, microbes and the universe, heaven and earth. None of these things God made are God nor are they unreal. If they are truly unreal, then God has never made anything at all and we would not be here to speak about this.

I know that the Bible says that only God is changeless. Reality is separate from God. It attests to the existence of something or to what is true, therefore reality is not the same as God. ( Mal. 3:6; Ps. 102:27; Heb. 13:8-9).

One-Eighty, I hope you are doing well and I hope that you are studying the Scriptures daily to discover the truth that God has revealed in it. I continue to pray for you often, as I care for you and desire for you to learn and know the Lord truly and eternally.

Walking the fence: Biblical doctrine part 2

Other than lack of understanding; most often it is the case that people turn a blind eye (with Satan's help) to obvious warnings if they have a particular sin they like to indulge in. James 4:17 states that if anyone doesn't do what they know to be right; to them it is sin. That; of course is somewhat subjective to individual situations. This demonstrates sins of omission along with what most think about; those of commission of a particular act or behavior. This could further be demonstrated in the parable of the Good Samaritan; or other exhortations in scripture about helping the orphan and widow ( James 1:27).

God in His good grace can use a situation for His glory in our lives; for instance He can drive those living together to marry; or break it apart to allow one individual to be removed from the situation and to grow. His will is going to be done ultimately; even in the case of the ungodly in judgment. That will not be perceived as anything good; however for the recipient of God's wrath.

There are always those "neutral" things such as buying lottery tickets. As with anything else; such as drinking alcohol it IS sin to engage in an activity when those around you are struggling with sin such as compulsive gamblers or alcoholics. Given a public setting is almost certain to include such individuals; we find quite often that such activities isolate ourselves and at best often are just a distraction. As for the lottery; I can say for a fact that it helps many elderly people become compulsive gamblers themselves; not to mention all the sordid people involved with casinos and other such houses of ill repute. I would say that gambling shows a lack of trust in God's providence and is rather like going to a fortune teller to bring about some more favorable outcome. Someone who can drink with a family member and limit it to one drink is the only situation in my mind that

MAY be ok; alone is risky.

    Walking the fence: Biblical Doctrine

In a given time and space; there are those who show true fruits of repentance; but believe in some errant tenets. Perhaps therefore with good conscience we can consider them brothers or sisters in Christ; even if we can't fellowship at their place of worship. This can evolve into a situation where you can't have someone be involved in your local worship either; at least in terms of membership consideration. As to small groups; the consideration is if a person has a teachable spirit or they are trying to force a belief system that is contradicting the Bible. Some may not want them around easily impressionable people or newcomers to the faith if false ideas could lead others astray.

We don't want to automatically assume that someone who goes to a church that isn't scripturally sound can't be saved. What we should expect; however is that they will be open to testing themselves to see if they are in the faith; as well as trusting the Spirit will work on them if indeed they are His children to break off ties elsewhere and join a Biblically sound fellowhip. Psalm 27:10 can be helpful when it comes to those that have family ties that are difficult to break. Seeing those who come from other religions entirely and make that sacrifice is a help tho those who are in churches that either have always been errant; or become so in recent years.

The same can be said for those who are rather "worldly" in their lives. A young Christian may through ignorance continue for a time to be involved in outright sin; or continue to associate with the ungodly in an unhealthy lifestyle. Sometimes if there is more than one issue; things can't be all tackled at once. We; of course must live out our faith and be longsuffering. Nonetheless verses such as 1 Corinthians 5:11 need to be emphasized and habitual lifestyles of sin must be severed. This is evidence of true salvation; but first we must be sure the Gospel is clearly recieved

    Hi Melodysue34,

The stone wall is mentioned in chapter 3 this is the wall around Jerusalem. We see in the prophecy in Daniel 9:25 The street (open Square) shall be built again and the wall even in troublous times. That is what's going on here. Nehemiah received word that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down and the gates were burnt.

Nehemiah then asked the king if he might go to Jerusalem. The nobles of Judah were whimpering because of all the damage and rubbish, they did not want to rebuild the wall because Samaria and the surrounding countries threatened to attack, they had little to no faith (troublous times). A prayer to God from Nehemiah and the wall and gates went up in 52 days Nehemiah 6:15.

Read Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther covers that time in the return from captivity.

    Hope this helps,

    God bless,

    AMEN Jema:

Christ had to go away, so he could come the second IN MAN, his body.

Christ is still on earth in the flesh, IN YOU.

The Kingdom of God is on earth; and in earth, we are the dust of the earth.

    God bless you.

Is this why , Jesus says in John Ch 16 V 7 , that the Comforter will not come unless he ( Jesus ) goes away ? That would help to explain John Ch 15 V 26 - Ch 16 V 15 .

    Mr. Landry,

When the Bible speaks of the believer having died with Christ, that is referring to the fact that Christ paid the full penalty for the sins of every true believer as their substitute. And the wages of sin is death.

It does not mean that we died physically with Christ when he paid for our sins. It also does not mean that our current physical body will never die.

It does mean that we will never come under the wrath of God, because Christ experienced the wrath of God for each and every one of his elect.

I confess that I do not follow much of what you are saying in your posts, but I do sense significant inconsistencies with what the Bible declares.

When a true believer dies physically, their body goes into the grave to await the resurrection of the last day. In their soul existence, they go immediately to be with Christ in heaven, because they have received their resurrected soul when they became born again. When Christ returns on the last day, their bodies will be resurrected, a glorified spiritual body, which will be reunited with their resurrected soul to again form a complete personality, which will live and reign with Christ in the new heavens and the new earth.

If the believer is still living when Christ returns, their physical body will immediately be changed into a glorified, spiritual body, so that they also will again be a complete Resurrected personality, body and soul, that will live and reign with Christ in new heavens and new earth eternally.

Regarding God speaking today, in a voice or vision or dream or tongue, Rev 22:18,19 is very clear that cannot happen once the Bible was completed. God only speaks to us directly through His Word the Bible.

It is true, that once we have become born again, Christ does indwell us and works within us "to will and to do of his good pleasure". How that actually operates is a mystery, but it has nothing to do with receiving additional articulated revelation from God.

    Brother David921:

If you DIED on the cross with Christ: and ONLY Christ arose, and you arose a NEW CREATION, Christ in you, the Holy Ghost in you.

You are now just the BODY of Christ.

Why would you NOT BELIEVE the Holy Ghost communicates with the body HE LIVES IN.

Christ ONLY arose from the GRAVE, that GOD'S GIFT to YOU.

The written word ONLY declares the WORKS of God, to bring you to TRUTH, who you are as a NEW CREATION.

Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (in you) that WORKETH both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

You don't think when you WILL or DO, it's not the HOLY GHOST talking to you, your his BODY, every second he is talking to you, CAUSING YOU to will and do his good pleasure.

The bible is his WITNESS to this.

Ezekiel 36:27 I will out my spirit (the Holy Ghost) IN YOU and CAUSE you to walk in my statutes, and keep my judgements, and DO THEM.

YOU DIED on the CROSS, only CHRIST arose, making you a NEW CREATION, the BODY of CHRIST (the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of God)

The Spirit WILL rule all nations with a ROD, Christ in YOU, the ROD of Jesse.

    God Bless You

    Hi Nstew,

If anything, including God, opposes itself and is divided, it cannot stand and its end has come. Thus, If anything is eternal, i.e. God, then it CANNOT oppose itself and be divided. Just as in light and darkness, Spirit and flesh cannot coexist; they have NOTHING in common and therefore do not share a common purpose. God is not double minded. But, we are. God is Spirit, and therefore cannot and will not create what He is not. Nothing except God can exist. Nothing beyond Him can happen, because nothing except Him is REAL. Spirit gives birth to Spirit! Things produce ONLY in their own likeness. Fear makes fear, olive trees produce olives, flesh gives birth to flesh, Spirit to Spirit. Love creates Itself and nothing but Itself. God, Spirit and Love are One; and they are eternal, and thus cannot change or be changed, because such is a characteristic of the eternal. Reality is changeless and it is this that makes it real and keeps it separate from all APPEARANCES. It cannot change. Appearances can always change because they ARE appearances, and cannot have the changelessness reality entails.

Opposites cannot coexist, and to accept one is to deny the other. There is no compromise between the two. If one is real, the other must be false (unreal). Which one is your reality? Can't have both, unless of course our mind is in a state of dissociation, which in essence is insanity. Dissociation is a distorted process of thinking whereby two (opposing) systems of thought which cannot coexist are both maintained. It is a state of confusion with a foundation built on sinking sand, not solid rock.

    God Is

    Peace

You have a belief that is opposite of truth.

You are not spiritually dead; your are physically dead, you died on the cross with Christ, the Spirit of God resurrected Christ back to LIFE, immortal life, you ARE a joint heir of that resurrection, the Spirit of God gives you LIFE, therefore you are spiritually alive, not spiritually dead.

Luke 20:36 Neither can they (YOU) die anymore (YOU are already dead, on the cross at Calvary) for they (YOU) are equal unto the angels (ministering SPIRITS; spiritually alive), and are the children of God, BEING the CHILDREN of the RESURRECTION.

These are the words of God speaking to YOU, do you BELIEVE?

    God Bless YOU!

Amen David0921 , the Bible is the living word of God , Jesus said ' let these sayings sink down into your ears ' . We must be diligent in reading our Bible , we must read all of it , every day for the rest of our lives . Each time we read it it must be as if we were reading that part of it for the first time , with an open heart and mind . It truly is a wellspring of life to us and it definately interprets itself , but you will only realise this if you read all of it , regularly .

    The Bible (part 2)

Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Psalms 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Revelation 22:18,19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

These are just a sampling of the many verses that speak about the scriptures, the Bible, the Word of God. They should be examined both in their immediate context and the context of the entire Bible if we are to come to Truth regarding the true nature of the Bible.

David0921....Jesus is plainly telling us to search the scriptures in them you think you have eternal life but it is only them that testify of me....Which is the living word the H.G. that testifies of me.....David there is no eternal life in the scriptures, if there could have been eternal life in the scriptures then Jesus shed his blood in vain and the cross was just foolishness..... 2 Cor. 3:6 he has made us able ministers of the New Covenant not of the written word the letter a killer but of the spirit....Eternal life in only by his blood at. Calvary.....Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world.....We do not behold the scriptures the written words....WE only behold the lamb of God the living word that taketh away the sins of the world....And that book of life that he wrote with his own blood,....meaning living words....Living Spirits....We are not gonna be married to paper and ink the bible but only to Christ the living word.

.....The DEVIL reads the bible but that does not change his demonic Spirit....All of ISRAEL was sola scriptura...Bible only but Jesus tells them they were of their father the devil.....Its only by the blood of the lamb that we can be bornagain of his incorruptible seed....that liveth and abideth for ever....The living word which is the H.G. THE GIFT OF God....I love the kjv with all my heart....But it is only the living word the H.G. that is the gift of God...No eternal life in the scriptures per se.

Jesus said are there not 12 hrs in a day and 12 hrs in a night but if a man walks in the night he is gonna stumble.....David you are walking in the night when you think there is Eternal life in the scriptures the written words as John 5:39 tells us....Jesus tells us there is no eternal life in the scriptures the written words.....Eternal life in only by the New Covenant which is his blood he shed at Calvary....That resulted in the book in the right hand of the father THAT BOOK OF LIFE that Jesus wrote with his own.. blood

    Genuine Christ and imaginary (continued)

Humanism; as a religion therefore perfectly morphs into whatever theology you wish to uphold. Thus; we see the teachings of Ghandi; New Age Gurus; and even mystical Islam as catalysts for change; whether feeding the poor; healing ailments or some euphoric esoteric wisdom.

It is no secret how the New Age has infiltrated our society; starting with the Beatles and later Yoga being promulgated in the 70's. What has changed is the widespread practices within the churches today. This and any other faith based system of polytheism of course invokes demons; and therefore the concept of Christ in those circles is an imaginary one.

God is clear that He alone is to be worshipped in the beginning of the 10 commandments. This is just as clear as His law regarding sexual morality; murder and other issues. Hence; we are essentially making God in our image when we support murder of the unborn; not to mention ascribing to the tenets of racial superiority by the founder of Planned Parenthood.

The touchy subject here; however is those who make the issue of pride to supersede honoring God. Hence; we have a worship of political candidates; whatever side of the aisle they are on; and particularly those who seem to espouse Christian values but don't live out what they preach. This admittedly can be a tricky balance; but we should hold those accountable who make promises and personally I think if we can't support someone and have to choose between the lesser of two evils we should stay out of the vote entirely. There is individual latitude as to how hard we should fight to maintain our rights that we are given in the Constitution; for instance balancing the fact that the world at large will continue to decay until the Tribulation and consummation of the end of the Age and Christ's return. The world is on course to final judgment; we need to focus attention on the Great Commission; everything else is secondary.

    Christ: Genuine and imaginary

With all the earlier postings focusing on how those who focus in the presence of the true God and the many errors therein; I will now focus on the imaginary Christ.

As we look to the past generation going back to the 1960's we see how humanism was central in the spirit of the age; as it were affecting the masses in America in particular but also spreading to other nations. The concept of enlightenment in the late 19th Century as well as that of evolution worked it's poison for much of the first half of the 20th Century in the background. Rebellion began to show in the "roaring 20's" with the over the top methods of entertainment; and later after World War Two we saw a steady increase in divorce and remarriage; and in the 50's and beyond we saw rock and roll starting to sway the minds and souls of youth driving them to hysteria.

The very real issue of racism and inequality was a subject which inserted Martin Luther King, Jr. and others into the concept of peaceful protest. Scripture was used to promote these agendas which would morph by the end of that decade to violent protests; and lead into the "sexual revolution" in the 70s. The concept of humanism is centered on the "goodness of man" which of course is the antithesis of scripture as to the condition of unregenerate men. This does not mean that the concept of the dignity of a human being and the sanctity of all life isn't important; or that racial issues were addressed that were out of line with God's will when it came to Jim Crow laws; for instance. What we ultimately see today is the fruit of that era; where all deviant lifestyles are accepted and anarchy is something we are supposed to celebrate and all those in authority are held in contempt. In general; it shows how the church can be used as a vehicle for change; but social change must never be the primary purpose for the church. Any lasting change comes from those who live and pray in the fear of God.

    Christ: Real and imaginary

I have spent some time in dissertation on the true Christ and man's attempt to immerse himself in Christian circles (or "churchianity") by attempting to fit in; ingratiating himself into a social network; and or live out some moralistic lifestyle that they think makes them accepted by God. As long as we are in the church age the Laodicean church exists; and we aren't quite in the final world religion "Mystery Babylon". Thus; there are still a few who still believe even in some of the worst churches; and those who are in the Philadelphian type church hold on albeit with "little strength" ( Rev. 3:8; either signifying few in numbers or little left in energy to exist in the hostile last days type world with many falling away).

Another problem which in various manifestations affects many denominations today is erring in not taking scriptures LITERALLY.

There are a few verses such as Isaiah 60:16 that are clearly not literal. The issue quite often is trying to fit the whole Bible into a particular framework so as not to violate a doctrine that we uphold. This can be related to eschatology with those who want to insert the church into every promise and covenant made with Israel and supposedly invalid today; or with those who in liberal churches want to assimilate into the lifestyles that are popular to suit their worldly passions.

The Word of God is not something we can cherry pick to select what we want to hear; God is a God of love but also wrath. These practices basically attempt to put God in a box; or make Him more palatable. It seems we want God to be like our cable TV or other entertainment where we control the narrative and choose the storyline. Galatians 6:7 shows clearly that we reap what we sow and cannot mock God. Things that are unclear in their final fulfillment will be seen to be literally fulfilled. Perhaps some prophecy can be tabled; as to lifestyles; once in judgment it is too late a lesson learned.

    Genuine Christ vs Imaginary

    Confrontation of sin

Verses on repentance are rife in the scriptures. Taking a proactive approach after a confession of faith toward living a life of holiness separates the real from the pretenders; whether in our own lives or confronting the sin of others.

Such a matter as suing one another ( 1 Corinthians 6) illustrates how making proper judgments within the Body of Christ is to occur; so that Matthew 7:1 is taken into proper context. Naturally; we are to straighten out our walk to avoid hypocrisy and to see clearly; as Jesus indicated to take the speck out of a brother's eye. Psalm 139:24 indicates a prayer to see any "offensive way" in us. As my earlier post indicates; we can seek to conform our outer behaviors so that we don't cuss; drink; smoke or dance for example but we can still foster pride or greed or something else. This is the methodology which fails when trying to reform people without the Lord transforming the heart; merely substituting one sin for another. Or; as some have said we need a new "wanter". None of these actions to curtail behaviors will make us love God any more without Him ruling and reigning in our lives.

This desire not to shake the apple cart as it were stops many from confronting sins of others; which is a necessary tool to bring forth repentance when evangelizing as well as confronting things within the church. The sin NATURE; of course is the focus which needs to be stressed on the streets but we also see individuals with sinful lifestyles that must be repented of. That principle is for nonbelievers and those who confess Christ as well in light of 1 John 3:8-10. 1 Timothy 5:20 shows how indeed these confrontations are necessary in the church; and a responsibility of those in authority; such as Timothy was after Paul instructed him and trained him. 1 Timothy 5:24 shows how certain sins are more obvious than others; but all will be judged.

    The Bible

John 1:1-3,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Some would believe and say that when we read words that were spoken by God Himself in the Bible, that these are Words from the very Mind and Mouth of God. But when we read, for example, Paul's letter to the Thessalonians, we should view these as, yes, the word of God but not necessarily from the very Mind and Mouth of God Himself.

In taking this view they are really saying that the Bible has different levels of authority. This is not so.

We see this false understanding in the use of "red letter" editions of the Bible where the Words of Jesus are in Red. This should not be done as the words of Paul or Luke or Isaiah that we read in the Bible are every bit the Word of God, and from the Mind and Mouth of God Himself as the Words of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible has one and only one AUTHOR. And that is God Himself. Every Book every Chapter every Phrase every Verse every Word in the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts is the Word of God Himself and indeed from the very Mind and Mouth of God Himself.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The Bible does not merely CONTAIN the Word of God. The Bible Alone and in its Entirety IS the very Word of God. It is God speaking directly to us and for us today.
