  • Starshine on 2 Esdras 2 - 10 years ago
Pos: Hypothetically, if this was kept in the KJV it would be because of the references to Savior, Resurrection, Son of God Jesus Christ . Paul also mentions verse 45 in the NT. Def. for "palms " would be greatly appreciated. Neg: Q: Weren 't those who married the heathen destroyed by God? Why is it in here that they live? They are under the Law of Moses.

  • Emma on John 9 - 10 years ago
I cannot believe that some Christians still call themselves sinners. How can you be a sinner and a Christian at the same time? When I became a Christian I strived to leave sin behind. If I sin I have an advocate with the Father and that is Jesus Christ. Ask for forgiveness and he will forgive. I know we all make mistakes. I don 't think we will be perfect until we get to Heaven but we must strive for perfection. To God be the glory forever and ever.
  • Kevin Bordeaux on Romans 3 - 10 years ago
Jesus came that we might have life. You are living and breathing right now, so maybe we are talking about a spiritual life? Not physical life. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit "all men died " according to the Bible but Adam and Eve actually covered their lower parts? So they didn 't die physically....? The Greek Hebrew definition for repent means to think differently. Gods ways are not like our ways, so we must get on Gods way of thinking. Repentance is good for the soul, but God actually needs us to stop being sorry, and start doing the work! God knows your heart, so you don 't have to convince him that you are sorry, repent and change your mind, which in turn will change your actions.
  • EoS-Come_and_See on Revelation 6 - 10 years ago
Have your faith and still bare witness to truth. All things shall come to past tense will they not? Care not of the judgement of men. Has your flesh truly blinded you that you seek peace in a forsaken home. I say to you all. Embrace the coming, for you have faith in the end and it 's outcomes. Let God have his victory by doing your work without hesitation. Hold your flattery. Show your faith instead. The world does not need your image any longer than you need the world. I ask is it wrong to open the seals that we know that would bring the acting hands of God? Do you dare to disrespect his word by humanitys ethics. What law have you abided by your own will? What man in your family has been free of sin and mortality? The book is a guidance tool that many are afraid to truly interpret the acts of God 's will. However, wait til your time and see how long your light can remain in the coming darkness that will swallow you hole. For you, knowing the words is power in it 's self. To others in existence of now, the action of now is the power they seek to empower the now for all to come and see.
  • Tim K on Genesis 1:19 - 10 years ago
I personally believe that the night and day were not necessarily 24 hours. The writer of Genesis had no reference for the Creation of the world. Obviously, God isn 't bound by what WE, the creatures that He created, think of as "day and night ". We cannot say with authority that it was a 24 hour period of time. It was, more likely, thousands or millions of what we call years. The author had no reference for what he was told was a night and day, so he assumed it was one of our days. For God, a millenium could be a blink of an eye. Who are we to judge? Creation is no less miraculous regardless of the time reference. How many of us could do what God did?
  • Cindy on 1 Timothy 3 - 10 years ago
Why was "God " placed in 3:16, when it was not in the original text. Many use it as proof text for the trinity and though I wish I could, as my mom is a Jehovah Witness, I don 't see that God can replace he or who depending on the version. this is a problem for me because JW 's use it against me. Is there a reason why God is used in some versions other than the translator felt it was OK as being a Trinitarian? Thanks, this is a big deal for me.
  • Wendy.p.marshall on Ephesians 1 - 10 years ago
You say: "...so God can work them out thru me or for when in his will for my life ". Did you mean: help me work them out? He WILL help you, that is a promise! But you must repent and have faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pray honestly with your heart from the secret place, and He will answer you openly! God bless you
  • Motdaugrnds on 1 John 5 - 10 years ago
Robert, You asked: "What is that sin that will lead unto death? " I have been hoping others would speak to this and still I have been contemplating it myself. I am convinced the "sin that will lead unto death " is the sin we do not allow ourselves to fully see and let go of.... I would like more comments about this from others as I 'm still studying this aspect of life.
  • Motdaugrnds on Ephesians 1 - 10 years ago
Tracey, our Heavenly Father tells us what our purpose is and unless you are CALLED to do something specific which you will definately know when it happens , then our purpose is simple: "...What doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God?... Micah 6:8 "
  • Lakhram on Exodus 3:14 - 10 years ago
Question: If the Self is itself aware, why am I not aware of it even now? Bhagwan Ramana Mahrishi s Answer: There is no duality. Your present knowledge is due to the ego and is only relative. Relative knowledge requires a subject and an object, whereas the awareness of the Self is absolute and requires no object. Remembrance also is similarly relative, requiring an object to be remembered and a subject to remember. When there is no duality, who is to remember whom? The Self is ever-present. Each one wants to know the Self. What kind of help does one require to know oneself? People want to see the Self as something new. But it is eternal and remains the same all along. They desire to see it as a blazing light etc. How can it be so? It is not light, not darkness. It is only as it is. It cannot be defined. The best definition is I am that I am . The srutis scriptures speak of the Self as being the size of one s thumb, the tip of the hair, an electric spark, vast, subtler than the subtlest, etc. They have no foundation in fact. It is only being, but different from the real and the unreal it is knowledge, but different from knowledge and ignorance. How can it be defined at all? It is simply being. PS This is mentioned In the Bible by the Lord! American King James Version - Exodus Chapter 3 Verse 14 And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.
  • Diana Chipps on Psalms 1 - 10 years ago
Psalms Chapter 1 is not only a chapter from the Holy Bible, but a promise from our Almighty, Living God! A promise that we are blessed if we walk right, talk right, and live right before others. He didn 't half way save me! He didn 't half way deliver me! So I won 't half way praise him for all that he has done, doing, and going to do in my life. I love the Lord! Amen?

It is a Good thing to give Thanks : I get myself in the habit of Thanking my Lord and Savior and God my Father all the day long. Soon it becomes a natural thing for me to do and I cannot see me in ever changing It . To become natural with God is to be unnatural to the world friends : family : coworkers : acquaintances : and in the marketplaces Thanking God with a Thankful heart pleases God and opens up Blessings . God is so GOOOOOOOOOD !!!!! Wouldn 't you say so ?

  • Salako lsaac on Malachi 3 - 10 years ago
Malach urged the people to stop holding back their tithes, to stop cheating God. The tithing system began during the time of Moses. The Levites received some of the tithe because they could not possess land to their own. Mal 3:6-12. During Malachi 's day, the people, were not giving tithes, so the Levites went to work to earn a living, thereby neglecting their God-given responsibilities to care for the Temple and for the service of worship. Lev 27:30-34, Deut 14:22. Numb 18:20,21. Do you selfishly want to keep 100 percent of what God gives,or are you willing to return at least 10 percent to help advance God 's Kingdom?.

  • Jayne on Deuteronomy 22:5 - 10 years ago
I am confused by all the comments concerning Deuteronomy 22:5. Does anyone have scripture to match this from the New Testament? I know that most of the Old Testament is pertaining to Jews only. I am by no means a Bible scholar, but I believe God looks at the heart not the clothes you have on.

  • Mathew on Ecclesiastes 12 - 10 years ago
King Solomon doesn 't beat around the bush. In his wisdom, he tells you exactly what life is: Everything passes away both good and bad and hence everything is vanity meaningless to hold onto. Solomon talks about the meaninglessness of being attached to anything in life or putting your hope on a person or thing. He is realistic, the most realistic piece of work I come across in the Bible, next to the book of Job. He reaches to the conclusion that we are not in charge of our destinies. God has a time for everything. He has determined everything chaper3 , a time under the sun for everything. But still having the freedom to choose, we are expected to live life righteously despite God 's absolute control of all things. After chapter 3 solomon mention things in life that are good and bad to avoid. Speaks about how to enjoy life fully single or with a good woman, but to live and enjoy life with wisdom. And lastly that he has learnt that God will bring everyone into judgement for what they do. So his last words, is to fear meaning reverence God and keep his commandments. What are his commandements? Looking at Solomon 's moral code found in the book one can easily surmise it has to do with love, charity, and human dignity for others. In sum live to the fullest, do good, and knowing their is such thing like a karma for what you do. My two cent :

Why do they talk about giving burnt offerings of the best of the herd to be used as a burnt offering? Then in chapt? 2 they are giving flour as a burnt offering. Is flour a gift and meat the offering for attoinment, for sin? If flour is a sacrafice why was Able 's wheat or grain offering not accepted, he was a farmer that was all he had.
