  • Graham on Acts 19 - 11 years ago
The beginning of chapter 19 1 7 shows the way of salvation. Simply put it was believe repent baptism in the name of Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives the utterance. This is the same message that Peter preached in Acts 2 38. Notice that the Ephesus disciples received the Holy Spirit after water baptism. If baptism was only an outward expression of an inward change showing what 's already happened on the inside a person would never receive the Holy Spirit after water baptism, but always before. Belief did not save the Epesians, for if it did, they would have already been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. If one automatically receives the Holy Spirit upon believism, which is commonly taught, than there would be no need to even ask the question "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? " No, it wasn 't until after water baptism that they received the Holy Spirit. These Ephesian disciples were saved by the death, burial and ressurection of Jesus Christ. Death repentance, Burial baptism ressurection receiving the Holy Spirit. The same saving faith of the Samariatans in Acts 8, Gentiles in Acts 10. Paul in Acts 9 also read Acts 22 Jews in Acts 2.

  • Oswin on Matthew 13 - 11 years ago
The Bible is a communication from God. Accept His Word as it simply states. Humans tend to want to change God 's Word to their individual preferences. Before reading the Bible, it 's best to first decide to erase what we think we already know as the truth. Unfortunately by the time most of us get to study the Bible, we have already been brought up with many untruth. If we can 't even accept what the Bible says here, how will we understand deeper things? Of course the Bible states Joseph waited till Jesus was born before having sex with Mary. Of course she was no longer a virgin after that, anymore than any other married couple. BUT THE REAL POINT THAT GOD IS MAKING ISN 'T ABOUT MARY. IT 'S ABOUT JESUS!! THE WHOLE BIBLE MESSAGE ISN 'T ABOUT MARY, IT 'S ABOUT JESUS. Hence us humans get easily distracted about what Yahweh 's real message is about. Hence the 2000 different groups of supposed 'christian ' groups.
  • Paul E Lannaghan on Psalms 7 - 11 years ago
Do not seek to be blessed, but rather to be a blessing. For our needs are taken care of daily, what more do we have need of? My life is lived to serve the Lord, not my own desires, and yet, "my desire " is to do what is pleasing to my Heavenly Father. Therefore, my desires are being met, because my heart is to please the Lord, all the days of my life, not my own life.
  • Rev. Autrey on Psalms 18:30 - 11 years ago
Everyone knows that only God can save us. So if we say that Jesus is not God, then Jesus can 't be save us. So how do we explain this? The answer is, Jesus and God are one and the same. Thomas knew this when he said to Jesus, 'My Lord and my God. ' Paul knew it, too, when he called Jesus 'God our Savior. John knew it also when he said in John 1, verse 2, '... and the Word was God. ' So why don 't we know it today. It is because we have been deceived by Satan. Satan knows that if we say that God did not fulfill his promise to by coming as Jesus, then by default, we are saying that he, Satan, is God. We only have two choices, God as Jesus or Satan.I can say it no other way. We can say this is not true, but it is. There is no other way to explain the stubborn resistance God 's own people have to the name of Jesus. I will give you Psalm 18, verses 30 and 31, to prove my point. 'What a God he is! How perfect in every way! All his promises are true. He is a shield for everyone who hides behind him. For who is God exect our Lord? Who but he is a Rock? The point is, Jesus is the Rock an which we build. But people will say, what about the Father? Isn 't he God? The answer is, Yes he is. He is the way God directs his affairs. Jesus said so. But Jesus is always the way God speaks to us and saves us. Ask God to help you understand!

  • Gloria on Isaiah 37 - 11 years ago
Grant, What trouble are you talking about? I know you are refering to the Christian 's believe about the Trinity. That is, God the Father, God the Son and God the HolyGhost. Pls, relax with what you believe and leave the Christians alone who believe in Trinity. If you know the word of God, you will not argue about the Trinity. Christians do not believe in three gods but base their believe on three personalities in one GOD ok. After the fall of man, man lost his relationship with his maker Gen. 3 . God out of His goodness and mercy, sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to redeem and reconcile man back to Himself John 3 16 . He came in the nature of man in order to relate well with His creature.Jesus exist before the world came into being John 1 The sacrifice He made on the cross paid the utmost price for humanity and anyone who believes and accept Jesus as his or her saviour and Lord, will be saved. Then God will send the third person in Trinity the HolyGhost to guide and direct him or her in righeousness of our Lord Jesus. Thanks.

  • Steve Nowl on Isaiah 65:8 - 11 years ago
I 've gone round n ' round with this with my asking wether the water turned to wine...... Was it new or old fermented wine? If you ask a Jew, he would most certainly answer fermented wine since their weddings are days in length....... And again, asking a westerner Christian, "it can 't be wine if its not fermented "! Of course the wine having been taisted was said to be, best....... My question wine in context translation, new or old wine? And when did God make something old out of something new other than the earth........? Aloha, Steve

  • Rev. Autrey on Psalms 27 - 11 years ago
Psalm 27, verse 1, says, 'The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? ' This speaks of the time when God would be born into the world as Jesus to give his life as a ransom to pay for our sins. So please saints, let 's stop thinking of God as Jesus as a sugardaddy, or someone whose only function is to help us have a good day. God days are good in the temporal sense. But if your sins are not removed, you will still go to hell. And in hell you will burn forever. See the point! Yes, it was God who was born into the world that Christmas day, and he called himself Jesus. But you may say, what of the Father. The Father is God 's other personality. Jesus spoke of him as the way God directs his affairs. And, yet, there is a third personality of God, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the way God inspires us to believe in what he is doing as Jesus. But in all cases, Jesus is the way God speaks to us, and the way God saves us. God help us to understand!
  • Rev. Autrey on Isaiah 44 - 11 years ago
In Isiah 44. verse 22, God says, 'I have blotted out your sins. They are gone like the morning mist at noon! Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free. ... ' Didn 't Jesus blot out our sins, and pay the price to set us free? This means that Jesus is the Old Testsament God who said these things. The trouble is, we just do not want to admit this. We perfer to believe that there are two Gods, a big one and a little one. But this is not true. God is one God. And just because he calls himself the Father or the Son does not change this fact. Let 's put it this way. When God decided to come into the world he called himself the Father. But when he came he called himself the Son. But God is always this way because he is alwsys making decisions, and always doing things. But the fact remains that when God walked on earth he did it as Jesus the Son. That is why the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are all about what God as Jesus did and said. If you have trouble believing this ask God to help you!
  • Mark verrell on Job 26 - 11 years ago
"dead things are formed from under the waters " what is this, is this speaking of fossils what came before ADAM and EVE? is this all living things "crept out of the deep " did man evolve from what came from the deep and turned to dust eons before man was created from the dust? plants and animals were completely formed at CREATION, the sun and the moon also were completely formed at CREATION I don 't know what is " dead things are formed from beneath under the waters "?

  • Rev. Autrey on Isaiah 63:8 - 11 years ago
If you do not know that Jesus is the God of the Old Testament, listen to what is written in Isaiah 63, verses 8 and 9, 'He said, 'They are my very own, surely they will not be false again. ' And he became their Savior. In all their suffering he also suffered, and he personally rescued them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them. ' I ask you, who is our Savior but Jesus? Who has rescued us from sin and death but Jesus? Do you see the point? I can go even further. In verse 16 the people said to God as Jesus, 'Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, Lord, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past. ' Saints, let 's look at Jesus the way the Bible does. This verse says that Jesus is our Redeemer, the one who purchased our freedom from sin with his blood. But then it says that Jesus is our Father. So let 's look at Jesus the way the Bible does. But some will say, what about the Father of the Gospels. The answer is, God has two other personalities besides Jesus. They are the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Father is the way God directs his affairs, and the Holy Spirit is the way God inspires us to believe. But in all cases, Jesus is the personality through whom God speaks to us. Jesus often spoke of the Father and the Holy Spirit. But if you look closely, you will see that any direct words spoken by God are always through Jesus. God bless you!
  • Debra on John 1:18 - 11 years ago
John 1 18 tells us that no man has seen God at any time. Had people seen Jesus? Yes, thousands of people have seen Jesus, therefore Jesus can not be Almighty God, who is Jehovah. That does not take away the fact that he is divine. Having the nature of or being a deity. As the son of Almighty God, Jesus was sent forth by God. Jesus demonstrated on a small scale what he will do for all of mankind in the near future on his Father 's behalf.

  • Shay on Hebrews 3:4 - 11 years ago
Since any house, however simple, must have a builder, then the far more complex universe, along with the vast varieties of life on earth, must also have had a builder. And since we acknowledge the existence of humans who invented devices such as airplanes, televisions, and computers, should we not also acknowledge the existence of the One who gave humans the brain to make such things? Yes, all glory and honor should go to Jehovah God.
