Once we begin to obcess about our body when do we stop? Many other Scriptures bear out the fuller meaning of this text, namely that we are not to pay absolutely no attention to our bodies, but that it is not the emphasis of our being. Think of the Health Care Plan from the American Government. It is as if some people believe the government holds their life in it's hands and live accordingly, in complete aquiesence to it's proclamations- "everyone will be insured!" So? You could be the healthiest, best insured individual on the planet and get hit by a bus, drop dead, etc. The point is made by the psalmist- "my times are in Your (God) hands." This is the heart of Jesus' message. Don't overly worry about your next meal or your clothing. God rained manna from heaven and made the Israelites sandals last for forty years. It's the same God, still watching over us, still giving our daily bread. We need only thank Him for that, then give our fuller attention to the finding and doing of His will. To that we should pay much attention.
  • P/E. Peter Patrick on Acts 27:10 - 12 years ago
Paul said "I Perceive" truely it was the help of inward witness and the fear of God that was in Him he sense it that something danger want's to happen and He never confused the people by saying to them the Spirit of the Lord to me. He said, I perceive. How did he perceive it? By the inward witness. He did not perceive it mentally. He did not perceive it physically. In his spirit he had this wintness. Compare to this days men of God tha doesn't have the fear of God will punp-up out that the Lord told me that there is danger in order for those that are with such man of God to respect his voice. Remember that the primay way God leads His children is by the inward witness..... Acts 27:9-10

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church.
I think the question here is which Church?
This question was answered by Saint Ignatius of Antioch in 109 AD
"there let the people be; as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.

I have studied chapter 19,20,21 many times .It is very good. But i need a clarification. Please explain. In bible it is said that a new earth and new heaven will come made up of gold, pearls, precious stones etc. I like to know whether this type of new earth comes when the son of man arrives as a second coming and judging the world (or)whether this type of new earth comes after 1000 years of gods rule when latter the Satan will be loosened and then sent in to fire lake?
  • Shadrack Lungu on Psalms 37:23 - 12 years ago
Ps 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
First and foremost how does man become good even before God? Secondly how does God order the steps of This good man?
    1) The good man.
    a) Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. The heart must be made good to produce fruit, since it was eroded of its goodness through adamic sin, the sin of disobedience.
This can only be achieved through receiving Christ as ones personal saviour, receiving forgiveness of sin and cleansing from all unrighteousness through the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. This is the beginning of the new life.
If a good heart starts from hearing and being convicted of the word of God toward receiving Christ as one's personal saviour and this is what makes a good man therefore I conclude by saying what orders the steps of this good man is the word of God. It is the word of God that will keep you away from falling if you obey it.

In our old age we will be fat and floreshing. (Verse 14). Does. this have anything to do with being over weight as we age?
  • William from Indiana on Psalms 83:18 - 12 years ago
First let me say that I too am proud to say I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. And I for one agree that Jehovah's name belongs in the Bible and should be known by all people. In fact the Bible does say " They will have to know that I am Jehovah," ( Isaiah 49:26, Jeremiah 16:21, Ezekiel 6:10, 13, 14; 28:26; 25:17 (there are many more examples in the book of Ezekiel but I won't list them all.) and Joel 3:17.

I tried to find that saying in the Christian Greek (the "New Testament") but with no success since I understand that since we are no longer under the Mosaic Law some people only follow the Greek Scriptures if I'm not mistaken and my sincerest apologies if I am.

And not only do I believe in Jesus Christ as many say about Jehovah's Witnesses that we do not but we do ( Acts 4:12, but read the prior verses in that chapter, namely verse 10, which says Jesus' name as your proof) but I also believe Jehovah and Jesus are two separate beings, Jehovah being the Father and Almighty God ( Revelation 1:8, the "Almighty" part) and Jesus Christ being the son whom was sent forth to earth to do the will of his Father Jehovah, ( John 5:30; 8:28; 17:3) and that Jehovah is Greater than Jesus and Jesus said it himself. ( John 14:28).

I'm trying to be careful that I tell the truth and don't give false information or else I'll displease Jehovah and I don't want to do that.

It's just a shame that God's name was removed from a lot of Bibles and that never should have occurred, Jehovah wants and invites us to know and use his name and to have a relationship with him. If Abraham, originally Abram was one of Jehovah's friends despite being human and imperfect at that, should we not be his friends too? ( James 2:23, Genesis 17:1-5)

And in conclusion I do agree with some of the comment above including LULU, Timothy, Kevin, and Chris to name a few.

That's all from me for now.

what honour could be in the destruction of a people?
  • Toni on Genesis 11:4 - 12 years ago
To Aubrey's question Why did God do this to the people?First, they did not do as God had told them to do. Genesis 9:7 God had told Noah and his sons to spread out and repopulate the world. Remember that God made humankind in His image and God said, “nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.” Having one language can make the development of technology easier and faster for good or for evil. God wanted to “slow down” people’s ability to do and invent new ways of doing evil. You know how it is these days, many morals have dropped to an all time low. There is no self-respect or love for self or others. God was just wanting to slow down man's capacity to endanger himself and the world so He handled that by confusing the speech and split the one language into different tongues which confused them scattering them into other parts of the world.

  • Kenneth on Deuteronomy 30:19 - 12 years ago
I've heard and read this passage many times and it seems i get deeper revelation each time. I think most, when asked this question would definitely say life. Death, in it's common definition has a negative reaction and association. It's when we try to define our own path for our distorted understanding of life thats the problem. We can come up with many examples of what would give us a full life but it will always fall short. The life that God offers is far beyond amazing. It's more than you can imagine. And I think I haven't scratched the surface yet. We're just not willing to do it his way. Who better to knows how to enjoy life than the one who created it? You wouldn't trust your car repairs to a physician. Why gamble with your life?

it is Appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgement but when? there has to be a Resurrection day before any one is judged the lord will comeback then the graves will be opened as Jesus said Marvel not at this for the hour will come when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice and will come forth they that have done good unto the resurrection of life and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation.and there is much more.scripture on this subject. there has to be a resurrection before anyone go any where. of course death seals his destenation as death finds you so shall the judgement.also there will be great tribulations such as was not since men was on the earth before the Lord,s come.then emidelity after the tribulation the lord will come so you better be ready when you die because there no getting ready after death.

Context and content, he is separating his people from a pagan cult, do we in America have pagan cults that are doing this now, hum? Also shaving the head? We can't pick and choose what we want to believe.Other scriptures talk about a women hair being long, most women have hair as short as mens hair in the church today, is this a sin also, hum?Think hard before stating a opinion, understand the context and content first!

  • Mary Ellis on Hosea 4:6 - 12 years ago
sounds pretty straight to the point it seems to me. a nation that was found under God but has now kicked him out from everythin. what else do we expect? our children are in danger. the only hope for those that love God is to stick by him and keep him first he will not leave us and we'll go down in redemption with him just like he promised the theif on the cross. to die in Christ and live enternal life sounds like a deal to me.
