Discuss Genesis 3 Page 2

Yes, the concept that humans are born into sin is a fundamental belief in many Christian denominations, and it is often referred to as "original sin." The idea is based on several passages from the Bible, although the term "original sin" itself is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible. Here are some key passages that are often cited to support this doctrine:

    1. ** Genesis 3:6-7 (KJV)** - This passage describes the story of Adam and Eve's disobedience in the Garden of Eden: "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."

    2. ** Psalm 51:5 (KJV)** - In King David's prayer of confession, he says, "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me." This verse is often interpreted as evidence of the inheritance of a sinful nature from birth.

    3. ** Romans 5:12 (KJV)** - In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul writes, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." This verse is often cited to support the idea that all humans inherit a sinful nature from Adam, the first man.

    4. ** Ephesians 2:3 (KJV)** - In this passage, Paul describes humanity before coming to faith in Jesus: "Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." This verse suggests that humans are, by nature, deserving of God's judgment due to their sinful inclinations.

It's worth noting that interpretations of these verses and the doctrine of original sin can vary among Christian denominations..

    Hi Strobe.

I would like to share a view with you. Not that it's true but one that I find provocative.

Eve was named or perhaps given the title "The mother of all living" after Genesis 3:15. I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and HER SEED. This is where we find the first prophecy of Christ, who's coming to redeem all of God's creation, (Lifting the curse on all of creation )

Adam calls the woman Eve/Woman of all living prophetically.

    HERE'S WHY.

Eve was to "become" the mother of all living because it was through the seed of the woman that all that was living redemption would take place. Christ.

Adam named all the animals before the woman hit the scene and the woman was called Eve after the fall and the prophecy of Christ.

    God bless.

    Jordyn,

Thank you for this discourse, for this is a great Love of mine, to talk about God. I would like to point out a few things; first, you said that Eve didn't deceive Adam, but I refer you to "And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?" Genesis 3:11 KJV "And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat." Genesis 3:12 KJV. This isn't the response of a man choosing to stand with his wife, this is the response of a man who is trying to deflect blame from himself to another! Sadly I've been guilty of this type of behavior before, so I understand what it "looks like". I read 1 Tim. 2:14 differently, I see it as the apostle teaching that a woman has no right to teach a man nor exert authority over a man; not because they are "inferior" but because satan used Eve as an instrument that lead to Adam's transgression which in turn lead to mankind's transgression. To put it in perspective: gun control is a huge issue because people think guns are "the cause" of someone killing another human being so guns get the blame. But, the truth is that it's not guns that are the problem it's the one who pulls the trigger that is the problem. In this analogy Eve is the gun and Adam is the one who pulled "the trigger". Notice that the transgression wasn't done when Eve ate the fruit, but when Adam ate is when God rendered Judgment!

Finally, I cannot say that God "caused" satan to act, because to say that is to say that God worked evil, and we all understand that God cannot work evil. Thus, to stay on the right side of The Plumb-line I accept that God allowed Satan to act (which is Very different from giving permission) Although, I do accept that satan and the demons as well as all creatures are instruments of Gods will, though some creatures God causes to act and some He allows to act according to their own nature.

    Man

    - A Creature of God

Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he

    them."

    -Performance Issues

    i.Low resistance to temptation

Genesis 3:13 "And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, the

serpent beguiled me, and I did eat."

    ii.High level of corruption

Genesis 6:12 "And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon

    the earth."

    Puzzle

In light of these issues, what is the meaning of "in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."?

Yes, CHRIS,"What happened when they(EVE and ADAM)were tempted to listen to the serpent(CAUSA MORTIS)& not to God's Words?(THE LIFE).They committed the first sin(causa mortis), a sin that wasn't the product of a sin nature(so a deep calleth unto deep-Ps.42:7-Highlights's mine),for they did not have one-they were created pure"

So,the disobedience caused a change of the nature. James 3:6-The tongue is a fire,a world of iniquity:so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the COURSE of NATURE;and it is set on fire of HELL.Paul said:"by a man came death, for in Adam all die"-1Cor.15:21-22.Why?What does the Word of GOD say?1Cor.15:45-49-"The first man Adam was made a living soul;that which is natural;he is of the earth, earthy;and as is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy, and have borne the image of the earthy"

No,I was not "referring to anyone after Adam, including you&me" for as we all know from Adam until the current time,my Lord

JESUS is the only one who was not born from the Devil

JESUS said to the Devil:Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of GOD

    Genesis 3:2 to 5

The Devil said to the woman:"Yea,hath GOD said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"

The woman answered to the Devil:We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden(in my view the fig tree),GOD hath said,Ye shall not eat of it...lest ye die

And the serpent said unto the woman,Ye shall not surely die:GOD knows that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil

    Luke 20:35-36

35But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world(next world-the millennium),and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36Neither can they die any more:for they are equal unto the angels;and are the children of GOD,being the children of the resurrection

    Hi Chris

I think you need to reestudy more deeply because the Law was not given by GOD to Israel to give life to them, GOD knew of this, of course. Neither to lead them to death, this was not the point of GOD. The Law was established to put a moral discipline among the people which GOD had freed from Pharaoh's yoke.

The GOD's people developed and grown up exceedingly in Egypt, and in the way of desert they were living as brute beasts, and the idolatry of Egypt was in their heart. So to walk among them, GOD established the Law: The 1st: Thou shalt have no other gods before me; no image, no bow down to them; not take my name in vain; keep the sabbath day;Honour thy father and thy mother:not kill; not commit adultery;not steal;no false witness, and not covet.

No, God's Standards, showed not the nature of sin by the Law. Sin would be to disobey GOD, this is correct. Nor GOD's Standards showed the condition of the human heart, the Law would never do that. Actually, GOD laid down the moral Law and just required obedience, that's it. The sin would be to disobey GOD.

You say they were inability to fully meet the Law's demands. No, it' was not about inability to obey Law's demands, even Paul said that "the Gentiles, which have not the Law, do by nature the things contained in the Law, these, having not the law"; So Israel, that was the body of Moses, with the presence of GOD among them could perfectly to LITERALLY obey the Law. The battle was between GOD X the Devil in having the dominion of the people.

About the Bible's letter it"is NOT a stumbling block;it is the very(written)Word of God,given by the Spirit & enabling that Word to be applied to the believer", BUT only if it as long as it be interpreted by the Spirit, otherwise, if interpreted by the letter, it is a stumbling block, yes, and it kills exactly as the Devil did- Genesis 3:1- and they died by the letter and die to this day, including the gods- Psalms 82:6-7 combined with Isaiah 41:23.Take a look.Very deep

Hi Strobe. In Genesis 3:20, Adam named his wife 'Eve' (Hebrew, Chavvah), as this name means, "life, or living". You might remember that Adam first called her 'woman' (Ishshah, Genesis 2:23), meaning, 'woman, female' (as one coming out from man), but then he named her, Eve. We aren't told what prompted Adam to now call her Eve; probably, he saw in her the God-given capacity to reproduce & hence be the progenitor of others of their type, not being created in the way God had done for them. So this verse then strongly implies that there were no living humans before Adam & Eve, as Eve was our very first Mother & all in the world must come through her line & manner of birth (not creation).

What does it mean when Eve became the "mother of all living" ( Genesis 3:20)?

Likely too, Saul before conversion knew the Books of Moses well.

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Genesis 3:15 KJV

The LORD God spoke this to the serpent with Adam and Eve able to hear and believe before they were removed from the Garden.

    Hi Jema

    Thank you for your reply

Allow me to add a few more elements for analysis. JESUS was talking about the fulfillment of the Scriptures about Himself -JESUS is GOD-, when Peter rebuked Him, so He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of GOD, but merely HUMAN concerns." Matthew 16:23NIV

When Peter rebuked JESUS, an unexpected spiritual environment emerged out of the darkness and the Enemy spirit took a clincher/hook in the literal sense, and articulated the pseudo human goodness in Peter's mouth to put a stumble in the way of JESUS, as happened in temptation.

The lesson I draw for myself from the spiritual environment that emerged out in that moment involving Peter in his weakness before the Master, it is that as a human we must have much care to fall not in the same error of Peter Apostle, using our human conceptions and going against the Scriptures, even if our words seems be good and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom.

We need a lot of discernment, no? Ephesians 4:26-27KJV - Sin not ...:

Neither give place to the Devil.

Furthermore, Ephesians 6:10 to 18 in very important for us the lasts, mainly now at midnight, a hour of great danger, according the Word of GOD, and more a TURN of a Day in our GOD's watch as in Genesis 3:8-11 and NOW in Revelation 16:13-15.

    GOD BLESS

    Hi Jema

See, our Lord JESUS said Judas Iscariots was a devil. John 6:70-71 : -->70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

About Peter is different, first he was not a devil, but a true disciple of the LORD. What really happen? JESUS had just said to the disciples and reveals how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. The sound that comes out of Pedro's mouth contradict LITERALLY what JESUS had just said: Matthew 16:22 - Then Peter took JESUS, and began to REBUKE Him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. In that moment Peter spoke by the spirit of a mere or common man made of the dust, as it happened in Genesis 3:1, the spirit of Christ was replaced by the spirit of man born of Devil, bnorn of sin. It's terrible. The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of GOD, it's is danger, very danger, to speak of the Word of GOD-the Word is GOD - by the spirit of man, and not by the Holy Spirit. It is very danger to peach the Word of GOD by the letter, the Holy Spirit doesn't do this because the letter kills, kills the souls.

    GOD BLESS

Hi Jeff. Yes, in Revelation 12:10 we read, "And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren IS CAST DOWN, which accused them before our God day and night." However, in trying to piece together Satan's former position in Heaven or on Earth now & all that transpired in-between, is not always easy as I would relegate teaching on this doctrine (of Satan) amongst the many that the Bible gives sparse information & therefore cannot be fully understood. Therefore, in reading about Satan & his angels (the ones that followed him after he was booted out of God's Presence), often brings conflicts in our understanding & agreement.

For example, we know that Satan was already with sin & banished from God's Presence right at the time of the creation of man & woman ( Genesis 3:14,15, where Satan had used an animal to tempt man to also become like him & his quest to be like God). And Ezekiel 28:12-15, of Satan who infected the King of Tyrus to also usurp the Throne of God (see also Isaiah 14:12-15, where Satan also used the Babylonian king). Yet, we read that Satan still had access to Heaven, whereas Revelation 12:7-9 tells us that only after the "war in Heaven", Satan & his angels lost the battle, & was cast down to the Earth for all time.

So, in my cautious understanding, Satan no longer has access into Heaven, though in some way he still manages to bring accusation before God against those who belong to Jesus. But Satan & his work were judged at the Cross ( John 12:31), and though his work continues to tempt & blind the hearts of men since then, he knows his time is short ( Revelation 12:12), that in a future day he will be confined in the abyss ( Revelation 20:2,3), & at the end of the Millennium period, be locked away forever in the Lake of Fire ( Revelation 20:10). This is how I try to piece it all together - though not without conjecture or error.

    Dragonman,

In Genesis 3:1, we are introduced to the serpent. There is a Hebrew word that means both serpent and snake. I don't recall the word off the top of my head, but I do recall that both serpent and snake are the same word in Hebrew. The word is used for serpent in Genesis and Numbers, and the same word is used for snake in Isaiah.

    Hope this helps!

Covenants of God: Introduction: God's patterns in initiation

    1. End of Dispensation: Judgment of men

    2. Signs and Wonders

    3. Element of fire

    4, Blessings and cursings

    5. Separation of God's people

    6. Be fruitful and multiply

EDEN. God sent out man after what is known as the "Age of Innocence"; possibly that involved an implied covenant with Adam

to care for the earth; and the first marriage. Man would be mortal and suffer on earth; and driven out from the Garden

and the Tree of Life. The Serpent was cursed; and by implication Satan. The death blow was promised in Genesis 3:15 along

with God's final victory. Judgment came on Cain and would affect his descendants in Genesis 4:15.

NOAH. God made a covenant symbolized by the rainbow after destroying all but Noah and his family (8 people). He promised never to destroy the earth by water again. The animals were part of the plan for preservation and interestingly part of the

covenant promises ( Gen. 9:12). He also was told to be fruitful and multiply anong with his sons( Gen. 9:1); compare with Genesis 1:28). Genesis 10:15-18 had Ham's one son cursed (no time to elaborate here).

ABRAHAM: Sent from Ur of the Chaldees; and given promises through fire in Genesis 15:17-20 when asleep (note Adam's

deep sleep in Genesis 2:21). He was promised miraculously to have innumerable offspring in Genesis 22:17. Judgment

came on Sodom in Genesis 18; Abraham's relative and family.

EXODUS/DEUTERONOMY: God at Horeb appears in fire and smoke; and great sounds to produce fear of His Name; then promises to bring them fully out of the promised land. Ten Commandments "seal the deal" as it was being a peculiar people.

God eventually purged out the rebels; only Caleb and Joseph made it to the promised land of that generation along with children.

BOOK OF ACTS: Pentecost brings about Church Age and New Covenant with fire; signs and wonders. God judges Israel AD 70; final judgment promised later.

The first situation would be two different accounts. God did create Eve from Adam's rib; although it was a part of him at first (bone of my bone; flesh of my flesh). ( Gen. 2:23). Whatever sense that meant when Adam was created is open to speculation; as to whether there was some part or essense there of what was taken out as part of Adam's being beyond something physical. The creation was done in such a way that God created both man and woman; but especially after the fall woman was to become subject to men; and men to God. There are some other duplicate listings in Genesis which would take a longer study to investigate; and I'm not sure entirely why. Anyway; the accountability after the fall (actually started with the serpent; then the woman; then the man). The man chose to listen to his wife ( 1 Timothy 2:14); so he deliberately rebelled rather than just being deceived according to this verse. In some sense then a typology of Christ and the church was established; namely the first Adam ruled over Eve; like the Second Adam over the Body of Christ (or His bride). So in some sense Eve was in the image of God; but came from Adam; whereas Adam came from the dust.

In both cases the breath of life would have come into them; in both cases they would have lived forever; and Christ came also to die for all men and women. I wouldn't say it is wrong to say that some characteristics of God can be found in women that may not be in man ( Galatians 3:28); but even before the fall a woman was made to be a helpmate; after it she would be ruled over by man ( Genesis 3:16) but in some sense desire to rule over her husband. Also there is no feminine deity; whether in the Godhead or; as far as we can tell in the angelic realm. However humans are created uniquely in comparison to the animal kingdom where there males and females would be created the same way.

Cain would have married one of the unnamed daughters of Adam and Eve; the easy answer.

I am sure there will be other responses here. This is what is often either ignored or deliberately avoided in Jewish communities; as the whole chapter is prophetic in regard to the crucifixion of Christ centuries later. Verse 53:3 shows that He was a man of sorrows; despised and rejected. This and so many other verses show how Christ was not revered for being God in the flesh; but often was revered for all the wrong reasons. Isaiah 52:14 in the previous chapter shows that He was marred beyond belief; so to speak. This was the ultimate expression of love; but love for His enemies and showed the cost of that committment. When Christ was followed He often had to weed those out looking for a free meal ( John 6:26-35); or those trying to justify themselves ( Luke 10:29). Those who wanted to follow Him often had loyalties more to money or family ties; and many if not most regarded Him as a Prophet or a great teacher ( Matt. 13:16-20). These verses indicate how only God can reveal that Christ is indeed; the "I AM" or God in the flesh (see also John 8:58). Such comments; no doubt would bring upon a reaction of madness from the Pharisees and others who could not accept this saying despite the prophecies such as in this book.

Verses 10 through 12 give us some indication of Christ's exaltation coming in the Millennial reign after we come back with Him to rule and reign from heaven. This will bring to fruition many other prophecies not yet fulfilled (such as Isaiah 61:2). This time delineation explains why Jesus only read the first verse in that chapter in Luke 4:18.

There will be complete fulfillment of all prophecies not yet complete after He returns to earth. Genesis 3:15 shows the first Messianic prophecy about Christ's wounds on His hands and feet which will always be present as a reminder; as well as Satan's ultimate defeat.

    Heaven Part 5

There are details about the heavenly city appearing on earth such as in Psalm 48. This shows the fear of the kings of the earth; and would represent a Millennium event. In earlier posts I have discussed how we will rule much like David under Christ who will be the supreme authority during the 1000 year reign. There are other verses about the earth and its peoples which could encompass promises of either the Millennium or eternal Kingdom.

I have said before that the eternal nature of the earth seems to be proven by several verses and I had thought that was true about the sun and moon but Psalm 72 seems to indicate otherwise. It would seem to show the end of it at the end of the Millennium; no doubt part of the catastrophic destruction at the time. Ecclesiastes 1:4 and several other verses seem to indicate that the earth in some form remains forever. As to exactly how the new universe will be; or if anything exists other than heaven and a new earth is rather mysterious; however. It is very frightening to think of the lake of fire as being what happens when the elements (or atoms) are dissolved in 2 Peter 3:10; perhaps the lost are in an eternal body that is reduced to some strange broken down elemental state. Revelation 22:15 seems to indicate they are just outside the gate. Somehow it would seem that they are infinitely far away from the saints at that time; however as there will be no more crying on our part as Revelation 21:4 shows.

These changes no doubt will cause the sea to vaporize; hence no more sea ( Rev. 21:1). All in the sea will die in the Tribulation anyway (except that brought to life in the Dead Sea); see Revelation 16:3; and Ezekiel 47:10 with surrounding verses on that context. Again in heaven we shall behold Him and see His marks as Thomas did; the prophecy in Genesis 3:15 had eternal ramifications. We ever shall be reminded of what He did for us.

If we go back to Eve. she gave birth ( Genesis 1:27,28;4:1,2;5:25). some of these offspring's died by means of old age,

Genesis 3:19; Genesis 6:3, violance or destroyed by the flood ( Genesis 6:5-7,11-13;17). Only Noah his wife, Shem, Ham, and Japheth their 3 wives survived. that means only eight people survived out of Adams and eve's children and grand children.

The point! not all of Noah's children listened to God. They followed Satan the devil and his lies Genesis 3. when you read about the Canaanites ( Genesis 13:7; Leviticus 18:1-5) this bad nation came through Ham descendance ( Genesis 10:6). or Ammorites, some Noah's descendance created a nation by their family name Genesis 11. When Jehovah ( psalm 83:18) confused their language they all spread out and became nations of people like you see today.

to the point: Abraham was a righteous man who lived in Canaan. but one of God's angels told him to leave Canaan then became a father to a nation of Israel ( Genesis 17:1-8). God name Jacob Israel ( Genesis 32:28). this is how a Nation of Isreal came about. Canaan land later became Jerusalem belonging to Israel the Jews.

However, Israel repeatedly sinned by worshiping other gods. even Solomon the last king worshiped false Gods ( Nehemiah 13:23-27) Jesus turned to the Gentiles which means nation who will believe ( John 3:16,17).

However, their are some Israelites who did believe, but most rejected Jesus.- Acts 1:6-8; Matthew 24:14; 2 Timothy 3:13-17

It's a lot of info. but I hope the bible answered your question HOW A NATION BECAME A INDEPENDANT NATION

    Charlie Slaves on Ecclesiasticus 17:11

Questions as to why specific writings became 'apocrypha' and subsequently removed from the original KJV is simply that content therein cemented the foundation of the word giving greater understanding. A time for everything and everything has a time.

You are replying to a comment by "Charlie Slaves"

If you read from Genesis to Revelation their is a common theme. The Promise seed Genesis 3:15, Israel Gods chosen people , The coming one the messiah, Israel's disobedience and captivity, Jehovah ( Psalm 83:18) mercy and delivering his people from captivity because they repented. Even the book of Ruth played a part in the symbolic descendant role in the promise seed

    Matthew 1:5.

How does the book of Esther add up? this book talks about Jews being in Shushan. The Jews were always in captivity by their enemies for their deliberate disobedience to Jehovah- Nehemiah 13:23-31; Esther 2:6 (Exile). Esther didn't have a choice; she was in exile or in captivity as while and taken to the kings house- Esther 2:8. Jehovah god blessed this situation because they relied on him when Haman tried to scheme or plot to destroy all the Jews Esther 3:5-15. This book is accurate because it matches the other books regarding Jews being in captivity or exile.

When you read the apocrypha does it match the bibles overall theme? does this puzzle pieces match?

does it complete the whole picture?

I hope this answers your question. Thank you

We have a good example of the book of Job.

the bible said he was a righteous man and fearing GOD.

Jehovah ( psalm 83:18) himself called job righteous.

It was Satan doubting Job as a righteous man Job 1:6-11.

Satan planted seeds of Doubt by raising up 3 friends of Job

who spoke without really understanding Job 2:11. Their false

    assumptions cause job many pains.

Jesus is aware of the traps of Satan and how he uses deception and lies.

    Luke 4 and Matthew 4.

Speaking about things we don't understand in a since can be

like the ways of Satan John 8:44. false accusations and hinderance to do what is

right or what God wants us to do is from Satan- Genesis 2:15-17; Genesis 3:1-5

Jesus wasn't saying Peter was Satan. but he was being a hinderance to

his obedience to Jehovah God. John 3:16,17; Isaiah 12:2

Jesus after his impalement, Jesus came to Peter again. John 21:15-17

We can avoid hindering others by praying.. Matthew 6:9,10,13

    Hi Jema.

You haven't offended me at all and you're right we are to learn from one another but not loose sight of Ephesians 4:5.

    There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

God gave us Christ and we are baptized into Christ.

We function as one body, Scripture tells us how we are expected to function in the body.

It's the working power of the Holyspirit that causes that oneness, We are to minister God's truth to a lost world.

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Mathew 12:30.

However everyone in our midst is not of the body of Christ.

No one is perfect but there are some fundamental teachings that a babe in Christ would hold.

One is there's a heaven and hell.

There's consequences to one who denies Christ.

No one teaches it's ok to sin by the Spirit of God!!

And these heresies is important enough for him to change his name.

    That's where the fall began.

And the serpent said unto the woman, YE SHALL NOT SURELY DIE:

    "Earl teaches otherwise"

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ( YE SHALL BE AS GODS,) knowing good and evil. Genesis 3:4-5.

Earl says we are going to be God's.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Mathew 7:13-14

    God bless

Very nicely laid out brother Chris!

Now look at the chronological order here in 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8."For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

"AND THEN SHALL THAT WICKED BE REVEALED", whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

This is the Holyspirit being removed and "then" the Antichrist shall be revealed!

The Holyspirit dwells in the body of believers unlike the way He worked and moved under the old covenant.

    Jeremiah 31:31-34 and

    Hebrews 10:16.

Mathew 28:18-20 says something interesting that we can tie into 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8.

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, BAPTIZING THEM in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I AM WITH YOU ALWAY, EVEN UNTO THE END OF THE WORLD. Amen.

    a) We're put into the body of believers "IDENTIFIED" With Christ.

Satan has ministers amongst us but Satan has no power over the Church!

Genesis 3:15. ( We are baptized into him that will bruise Satan's head.)

1 John 4:4. ( We have already overcome what's coming upon the world!)

Matthew 16:18. ( Gates in scripture is always used as defense. So who's on the offence and overcomes? The Church!! )

    b) "I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen"

WE ARE BAPTIZED IN CHRIST AND HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US.

Unlike Judaism the Church is not looking for their Messiah. .

We have him with and in us!!

The deception performed by the Antichrist is one coming as their Messiah, and he will deceive many!!

That can't happen while the Church is in the world.

    1 John 2:20-28.

    Thanks Brother!

We're learning a lot from your teachings.

    God bless you.

Hi Jerry. In answer to your first question, I believe that "to keep the way of the tree of life" is to keep the way "closed". The Hebrew word for this means: "to keep, to watch or preserve". So, the placing of the cherubims with flaming sword was to secure or guard the way(s) to that tree (of life) so that no one could ever take of that fruit & live forever in a state of irretrievable corruption. The fact that Adam & Eve disobeyed God by eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil, made their spirits corrupt through sin, but at least there was hope for them in lives & death. If the Tree of Life was then eaten, their state of corruption in sin would have been final & irredeemable.

While Adam & Eve were pure & innocent, I believe that they could have eaten the fruit of any of the trees ( Genesis 2:16,17), except the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil. But once they sinned by disobedience to God, the eternal life that they had would have been taken away and left them in a state of eternal death & separation from their Maker.

In verse 24 the bible says "So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."

To keep the way of the tree of life, does that mean to keep the way open or to keep the way closed? Two trees were in the midst of the garden and only one of them was forbidden. Does that mean they could have eaten from the tree of life at any time?

Yes ! We , humans , are the serpent , our hearts and minds which are full of all kinds of wickedness ! The battle is within us , not without , we must fight against our own inclinations , when we have the Spirit of Truth within us , then we are no longer ignorant and we have eyes to see and ears to hear and then , we walk in the light and our life is in Christ . We live in him , not in sin , we are alive in a world full of dead people !

    Michael:

The serpent has always had legs, the serpent is not a snake.

The serpent is the carnal mind of the beast, MAN.

Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom ....for it is the number of a MAN

Job 1:17 .....the Lord said to Satan, Whence cometh thou .....from walking (on legs) up and down on the earth

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field God made ...

Psalms 73:22 I was so foolish, and ignorant, I was as a beast before thee.

Romans 8:20 For the creature (man) was made subject to vanity (a carnal mind), NOT WILLINGLY, but by reason of him (God) ......

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman .....enmity between the carnal mind and the bride of Christ ....

Romans 8:7 For the carnal mind is enmity against God .....

God Bless YOU as you study and Christ reveals himself to you.
