God, in His infinite wisdom, knows that we mere mortals cannot take all his instruction at once! He is saying here, I believe, that we need to build upon His Word one little idea action at a time, until such time as we are together with Him!

It says Common English Bible 28 10 Tzav la tzav tzav la tzav kav la kav kav la kav z eir sham z eir sham There are no such words on Hebrew these are just sounds that babies make read verse 9 To whom will God teach knowledge To whom will he explain the message To those just weaned from milk To those who have hardly outgrown the breast and then in verse 10 the prophet says that our opinion and talk about God and what He wants from us is just baby gibberish and the challenge then in the chapter is to feed on the real spiritual food that we as adult Christians need Paul says in 1 Corinthians 3 2 I have fed you with milk and not with meat for hitherto ye were not able to bear it neither yet now are ye able Mature believers need to grow in Grace every day

I think it means chapter by chapter if you are in a babe stage of your walk

The act God had to do was strange because God is love and its a strange thing for Him to have to destroy, but IF HE DOES NOT THEN ITS LIKE A CONTAGIOUS DISEASE,WHICH IF NOT QUARANTINED WILL SPREAD AND DESTROY ALL.

clearly you cannot make any agreement or deal with the enemy and expect it to be safe. It reminds me of a cartoon picture once where a couple of people were been invited to dinner by some natives but they didn't know they were going to be the dinner. Scary huh.
  • Godfrey on Isaiah 28:12 - 11 years ago
This verse came to me after my receiving the Holy Spirit. On asking Him to come in I was floored and stay in this position of rest and refreshing for hours worshipping and praising Him in foreign tongues, and if 'cloud 9' means anything, I was there till I fell asleep that eve. Truly, this was Devine as it was outside myself, but it was a true rest and refreshing from God through Spirit. How can I but believe this scripture refers ...!
  • Ray on Isaiah 28:10 - 11 years ago
The text is simply saying scripture should be used to interpret scripture. The Holy Bible is a book of harmony and other scriptures must support the original verse to get a correct interpretation. In other words, one shouldn't take a text and expound on it without another scripture to support its message.

It's teling us that we have to clear our ground one at a time, because we are fighting a strategic enemy, we too have to be strategic. we fighting an organized enemy, we too have to be organize.

Perhaps one of the most precarious references in the Bible, along side of Job 2:10 and some others. Thankfully Jesus makes it clear about someone who "comes...hears...and does these sayings" (Precepts?), digs deep and lays a foundation that supports the dwelling which will never falter.

I feel that it is very insightful and informative

The line upon line and precept upon precept is to get the word into the hearts of the saints. The pastor must not stop preaching. Service after service is a continual pouring into the hearts of the saints. The ones who will receive, shall have the word in hid their heart and not lose it.

Isaiah 28:13, in order to understand the accounts given, we must read the rest of the book, the interpretation is written on the next chapter. Just as the account of Cain and Abel, we are told about their strife, then we are told about their lineage. Just as later in genesis, the way the lands and Isles of the Gentiles are divided, then says when and why they were divided. We get an overview per se, then the detailed account of what we need to know. We must look at each verse as a brick or row of bricks being assembled into a building, we must look at what is being built. There are 66 books in the combined cannons, each book is split also into sections (depending on the book), and since we cannot receive the entire message in one moment, it must literally be spelled out, word by word and line by line until it all comes together and we see what is being built/said. The word of GOD reveals itself, if you get stuck reading the Bible, ask the one who wrote it first, before asking dust like ourselves who only confuse ourselves. May the Most High GOD of Israel, Father of Yeshua HaMashiach Jesus the Christ, open our understanding in the name of his grace, Yeshua HaMashiach our Lord and redeemer from The Most High. Amen. Shalom.

The Priest, and Prophet alike stumble in vision, as well as judgment. Come now let us reason together said the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. If society is going to overcome the wave of problems that have taken place, they must repent, and return to the Lord with their whole heart.
  • SAMUEL on Isaiah 28:16 - 12 years ago
I believe this one the key foundation of our faith as believer in Christ, Christ he seen as the precious stone that we need to depend, rely, trust forever in every stage of our christian walk, his indwelling Spirit is there to teach us to walk according to his direction. Remain confident of taking one step at time not rushing, in everything we do but trust God for his perfect timing. He make all thing beaufiful in his time.
  • Jack Wood on Ecclesiasticus 1:2 - 12 years ago
I believe it should have been left in the Bible, God's word is God's word, and none can change it, Isaiah 28:9- 12, for those who are sincere, in heart will get His understanding.
  • Pastor Nick on Isaiah 28:10 - 13 years ago
When I read this I see that God is sitting in judgement and these drunken prophets and priests can't teach anyone. The fact the the precept upon precept became judgement to them shows that a drunk preist couldn't teach the way God intended for his doctrines to be taught. so the precept upon precept to them a stumbling block.
  • Ben weaver on 1 Corinthians 14 - 14 years ago
    V. 21 directs us to Isaiah 28:11-13 about the gift of tongues. "With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak to this people and yet, for all that, they will not hear me, saith the Lord. Notice the two wills. Our human pride prefers an intellectual "Line upon line, precept upon precept" religion rather than the supernatural interruptions from God. In Isaiah 28.12:13, God tells us that the results of our human organization will be, "falling backwards, being broken, snared and taken. Let's pursue the spiritual principles that God gives through Jesus and beware our religious opinions.
