Please show her James 5:14-16 right away:

James 5 - 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

    -

Some points to consider about that passage:

    1. According to the Bible, only men can be elders ( 1 Timothy 2:11-15 - 1 Corinthians 14:34-36 - 1 Timothy 3:1-2 - Titus 1:6)

    2. The anointing oil needs to be done; it's not "just medicinal" like some teach - (Read Mark 6:7 & 6:12-13 those were clearly supernatural healings, and yet they still used the anointing oil - when they anointed in the Old Testament, they simply poured oil on someone's head ( Leviticus 8:12 - 2 Kings 9:6 - 1 Samuel 10:1) - you don't need any man to "bless the oil", the Bible did not say to do that - the anointing simply needs to be done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    3. It says "the prayer of faith shall save the sick", so I encourage everyone to be praying God will give the gift of faith to the mother, and the elders, otherwise, as it said earlier in James "...let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord." ( James 1:6-7)"

I just learned today that heat, humidity, and especially sunlight are very effective against certain viruses. But if your sickness is severe or becomes severe, please consider following this passage:

James 5 "14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. If you don't have access to elders (because there is a lot of leaven out there), you can still "call for the elders of the church" in your prayers to the Lord, and He can bring them to you. But until then, there is some natrual things you can do for hypothyroidism - You don't need to do Keto (as all God's foods are acceptable 1 Timothy 4), but I did find a lot of info in these YouTube Dr.Berg videos helpful:

Hello Andrew, I'm hoping when you said "God can't fix all things" that was a typo, and you meant "can", because He can fix and do anything He likes:

    Job 42

"1Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee."

Please read 1611 tab information on this site.

If you do Web search (king-james-bible-most-popular ) or type that information

There's an interesting article that explained even it's impact on culture & USA when Colonized.

I've seen in one article that the printing was reduced to save costs.

Saur a German American also produced a Bible USA 1743-1776, including half of the Apocrypha [gruber] amazing German & England/Ireland influence include Apocrypha in early English translations. I'm very interested in this too because it's only been a few years that I have even been aware these books were seemingly removed from our Bible translations. This site has many books in the Apocrypha that point to Jesus as Messiah & strengthen faith. Give wisdom Ecclesiasticus

    Hello,

    1. Yes I believe in some ways our faith may be considered more complicated because they being with Jesus " physically " John 3:12, John 14:11, yet scripture says : 2 Chronicles 20:20, we have so many accumulated testimonies, prophecy fulfilled, the written WORD of GOD from many generations past in many ways we have all that to help build upon our faith. Then we have personal experiences & witness of miraculous events in our present days & years. I believe it's powerful to see the biblical text, New & Old Tstm & imagine the future with the stacked testimonies & understanding time accumulates more information. When the days of tribulation come the stacked accounts with all scripture will be that much bigger. GOD is amazing. I realized the other day the wealth of faith building information at our reach. I told a young man, "Yes, these days are difficult but we have so much to draw from". & GOD in HIS infinite wisdom gives each generation what they need. Romans 10:17, John 20:29,

    2. Luke 23:43, I guess it applies to today to yes prove "nothing is impossible with GOD" Luke 1:37, & possibly to encourage us that it's not too late to repent, in dying moment.

Next. (?) Interesting observation. Matthew 4:12, Matthew 23:37, GOD gives people many chances to do good. Mark 6:20, Mark 6:19-31, read though, Mark 6:32-46, did Jesus even take time to mourn? It seems HE went to take a moment, yet compassion moved HIM to minister.

    At 1st read I had thought you asked about Peter & Paul comparison of Peter released & Paul was not, also same "(charges) Acts 12:5-17, Acts 21:30-40, - Acts 22, - Acts 23, - Acts 24, - Acts 25, - Acts 26, - Acts 27,-, Acts 28,

My emotion would want to say "all chains are evil" however Mark 5:3-20, Jude 1:6, 2 Peter 2:4,

GOD uses all for good , Psalms 105:17-25, Romans 8:28-30, while Paul was in prison he wrote letters that became an important part of our HOLY Bible today.

    3. James 1:5-8,

    Hope this helps

    The natural man.

    Part 1 of 2.

In1 Corinthians 2:6-16, the natural man is compared to the spiritual man and the carnal man. Verse 14 says, "A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised" (NASB). This verse does not define the natural man, as such; rather, it uses the term to describe one who does not understand God's words and thoughts. The one who can understand God's words is a "spiritual" man (verse 15).

Dr. Henry Morris, in theNew Defender's Study Bible, gives this comment on verse 14: "The 'natural' man, still unsaved, cannot appreciate spiritual truths. He must first understand Christ's atoning sacrifice for him, but even that is 'foolishness' to him (1:18) until the Holy Spirit Himself convicts him of its reality ( John 16:7-11)." Basically, the "natural" man is one who does not have the Holy Spirit residing within him. As Jesus said, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit" ( John 3:6).

Let's look at some other uses in the Bible of the wordnatural. InRomans 11:21we read, "For if God did not spare thenaturalbranches, neither will He spare you." In1 Corinthians 15:44-46, "It is sown anaturalbody, it is raised aspiritual body. If there is anaturalbody, then there is also a spiritual body. However the spiritual is not first, but thenatural; then the spiritual." Ezekiel 44:31speaks of anaturaldeath. Daniel 10:8speaks of anaturalcolor. James 1:23speaks of anaturalface, andJames 3:15states, "This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic."

    Hello John,

I myself have had many beautiful discussions with Mormons & Jehovah Witnesses. I'm sorry if I mix up the teachings. 1st I want to say many of both, are very kind, I liked just about everyone I encountered. With few exceptions. However, many scriptural discussions seemed to point to teaching that was not in-line with JKV HOLY Bible.

1st important 1= Galatians 1:3-10, 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, teach don't believe another gospel even if an Angel brings, Mormons have a "new" teaching brought from "An Angel".

2nd Book of Mormon, addition to Bible? Psalms 89:34, Rev. 22:18, Deuteronomy 12:32,

3rd Mormons teach that Women can't be prophets untrue : Judges 4:4, Luke 2:36, Joel 2:28.

4th & maybe most important Mormons don't believe CHRIST Jesus is who HE says HE is. : Isaiah 53, Psalms 22, John 19, John 1,

    Why do you ask?

Baptist are supposed to believe in Scripture.

I myself like to stick to the WORD of GOD. Those two are not your only choices. The choices really come down to the WORD itself here's some : John 3:15-16, Matthew 25:31-46, James 1:26-27, John 14:16,

    Hopefully this is helpful.

I have a rule myself to let the HOLY Spirit teach us as we read. 1 John 2:27, John 14:26,

Sometimes we have to work at "unlearning" what someone tells us the Bible says. GOD's WORD is a "living Word" it teaches, corrects, edifies._.. 2 Timothy 3:16, & gives us wisdom. James 1:5,

Genesis 34, is the account. Notice : Genesis 34:2, they were Hivite

    Exodus 23:28, Exodus 34:11, Exodus 33:2, Genesis 10:15-19, Joshua 9,

    Hopefully this is all helpful.

Thank you "GiGi" for pointing out her approximate age through scriptural knowledge. Genesis 30:19-31, Genesis 31:38-41,

Genesis 33:13-17, it says after they met Esau, they built a house & booths for cattle it doesn't say exactly how long they were there. It appears they may have left when Joseph was about 6 yrs. old because Genesis 31:41, But it was before Joseph was 17, Dinah seems to be older sister, they then pitched a tent._ Genesis 33:18-20 The only accounts of age we're given is Joseph was born & Genesis 30:25, Genesis 37:1-2, yet Joseph went to find his brethren in (Shechem) so was this timing, a historical account putting both situations about the same time? Genesis 37:11-14, because later Israel/Jacob tells Joseph about his mother's death & burial, that happened on Journey Genesis 35:1, Genesis 35:15-20, Genesis 35:27-29, Genesis 48:1-7, Genesis 45:25, Genesis 46:6,

Hi Chris; Whenever I refer unto the Old Testament I also call it the law of Moses, because he was the mediator between God and Israel, however; the old covenant simple means the Ten Commandments in stone as in Deuteronomy 5:2-3 & Hebrews 9:4 - Jer. 31:31-34 and Hebrews 8:6-7 Genesis holds three covenants created before the Old Testament, Adam, Noah and Abraham all received a covenant, which was not the Old Testament. Then the angels created the Old Testament, Acts 7:53 & Galatians 3:19 During that dispensation, about 1,600 years or so, God gave the old covenant (Ten Commandments in stone) and the Davidical covenant, howbeit, neither of these were the Old Testament. It is generally speculated that the Old Testament has 613 laws, actually all of which should be in the book of Leviticus, meaning the O.T. specifically is only Leviticus, all other books before the New Testament are not the Old Testament, they are written during that dispensation, although some of them, like Exodus, numbers and Deuteronomy have some of the O.T. written within it. Therefore; you cannot put the four gospels in the Old Testament, as they do not contain any Old Testament laws, neither do they contain obedience to the old covenant, meaning the Ten Commandments in stone. The old covenant was magnified by the Lord Jesus Christ Isaiah 42:21 making it spiritual, harder to obey, and was written in the heart of all Christians Jer. 31:31-34 - Hebrews 8:6-13 & James 1:21 This n.c. sets us free from the o.c. as in Romans 8 for the law of life in Christ Jesus, has made me free from the law of sin and death. It should be noted that the Old Testament was destroyed by the death of Christ on Calvary as in Ephesians 2:14-16 and Colossians 2:14-15 Knowing if we obey one commandment from that law we are cursed according to Gal. 3:10 and Deut. 27:26 Yet the old covenant was magnified, not destroyed, but fulfilled as in Matthew 5:17-18 although it had an expiry date, as in Luke 16:16 I hope this is clear.

    Hello Connie,

My interpretation of "Faith without works is dead" is what's written in scripture: James 2:1-4, James 2:5, please read all of James 2, for perspective & context. It says that faith without works is dead 3 times. Then gives examples what that is : * James 2:13-17,

    James 2:19-20,

Notice: Isaiah 58, please read whole chapter. * Isaiah 58:6-7, James 1:23-27,

    Isaiah 58:10-12, Matthew 25:31-46, 1 Timothy 6:17-19, again read, 1Timothy 6, whole chapter. 1 Corinthians 13,

I hope these scriptures help give you understanding to what GOD means by "Faith without out works is dead."

    Thanks Gigi

There is a problem with Jesus being God. Why?

If Jesus could be tempted it means he could have sinned.

    Can God be tempted?

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man

But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed

Then when lust has conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

    James 1:13-15

God cannot be tempted with evil. If Jesus is God how can he be tempted with evil? He would not be able to sin.

    Thanks for your time.

Time will show us what or who this is as God's culmination of history unfolds. We are to be ready for Him to return at anytime, and be about the business of His kingdom until then. So, for me, I live day by day with Him and let Him be the revealer of all these things in their due time. I focus on whom He has brought into my life to share the words of life with and to help in their time of need. I aim to live a quiet and godly life in these wicked times. Our witness to others is so vital in redeeming the time God gives us to do His will here. So, for me, it is important to be a doer of the word and not just a hearer. James 1:22.

I have taken that to be wisdom especially when we think to highly of someone & they fall into sin. Putting too much trust in man, woman, their position or title, for example. This was advice maybe through experience.

    Proverbs 6:30, Proverbs 6:23-26,

Hopefully these scriptures are also helpful in reference

    Genesis 25:34, Hebrews 12:16, 1Samuel 25:10-38,

    It is also commanded

    Leviticus 19:15, Proverbs 24:23, James 1:1-10, Colossians 3:25, Ephesians 6:9, Job 32:21, 2 Chronicles 19:7, Deuteronomy 16:19,

Example Luke 20:21, Matthew 22:16, even when trying to trap Jesus they testified that HE wasn't a "respecter of persons"

Jesus was tested by this Luke 4:2-4,

Is it also coincidence that it was a piece of bread that was given before betrayal by Jesus? John 13:18,21-27, John 6:33,

Amen, a few minutes ago I just read that in James 1:5 so it's interesting that I now see your comment. I find that everything about my day goes better if I'm intentional about asking God for help and wisdom on knowing how to handle things. It's like having access to a superpower, but its somehow easy to forget. Sometimes our burden can be lightened if we just ask in faith.

No mention at all in wesleys notes of the sundial,

And "ALL" is not written in THE WORD OF GOD !

Father of LIGHTS! The light that LIGHTETH every man...

    This is not ALL LIGHTS.

interpretation in self is always selfish.

And there is no private interpretation.

Howbeit when He, The Spirit of Truth is come, He shall guide us into all truth, for He shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak, and He will show you things to come.

Truth be with you and bring you to His paths of righteousness , for His Glorious names sake, The a mighty and high name of CHRIST JESUS

Hello Shaarei. You're referring to James 1:17 & also to Wesley's notes to it. Wesley does agree to, "Father of Lights". But in his explanation further, he states, 'Father of ALL light', which applies to "the material or spiritual, in the kingdom of grace & glory". I can accept that God's Light is so great & all-consuming, that nothing, whether of matter or spirit, can escape its reach & penetration.

"with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning". God can never change or can have anyone change Him; nor can He cast a shadow (as one's shadow would fall to a surface & move according to the sun's position), because God doesn't move from Who He is & what He does. That is my understanding & Wesley states, "In God is nothing of this kind", meaning, though He is Light & the Creator of all the light we see in the heavens, the effect of that light in the heavens that impacts our lives to some degree, has no impact on God, even if God should stand under its glow. I don't see that Wesley has said anything contradictory - given that no one person would fully agree with another on some of these interpretations & the thoughts & expressions also affect what we read.

    Discussion notes from Wesley

The Father of lights , how does Wesley get ALL lights ?

The verse does not say all light, but says the Fathervof LIGHTS!

He is the light that LIGHTETH every man , THE LORD IS THE FATHER OF EVERY MAN!

And furthermore, the explanation Wesley gives for NO SHADOW OF TURNING, is also incorrect. The notes read that some days shall be longer and some shorter. THIS IS SO INCORRECT! And should not have been added to discussion.

Shadow of turning, is the sundial clock. When it is hands straight up, the sun is directly above us, THERE IS NO SHADOW OF TURNING! And so, THE LORD IS ALWAYS DIRECTLY ABOVE US, THERE IS NO SHADOW OF TURNING. nothing at all to do with length of days. I am finding mistakes in wesleys interpretations.

I won't be reading His anymore.

    Thank You JESUS
  • Jesse - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Hello Brother Spencer,

I'm not sure how this would tie in to the lesson you studied, but I'll share this with you. I'm looking at those Greek words both in Matthew and Luke. In Matthew 4:1, the word tempted is PEIRASTHENAI which means to be tried. In verse 7, the word tempt is EKPEIRASEIS which means to put on trial. What's interesting about Matthew Chapter 4 is that in James 1:13, it tells us first of all that God cannot be tempted, nor does He tempt anyone. You can't tempt Him and God Himself is not responsible for temptation.

As far as Jesus having to prove Himself, here is what I find interesting. In Matthew 4:3, it sounds like the tempter is asking Jesus to prove who He is. The tempter says "If thou be the Son of God, command these stones be made bread. That word "if" makes it sound like he's asking Jesus to prove who He is. That's what we get from the English text.

But here's why I love the Greek so much. The word "if" in the Greek text is what is called the first class condition assumed to be true. It can be translated "since." The devil, in tempting Jesus, was not tempting Him to prove that He was the Son of God. Satan is saying (since) you are the Son of God, then do this. Misuse your authority. Misuse your position. Be disobedient to your heavenly Father. But please note that Satan is not asking Jesus to prove Himself to be the Son of God, but actually questioning Him, baiting Him to disobey the commandments of God.

In Luke 14:19 the word prove is DOKIMASAI which means to test.

I'll share this with you, something I learned. A farmer in those days, if he had one pair of oxen, he would be considered fortunate. This is obviously a rich farmer. He just purchased five pairs of oxen. He's says, and I have to go and prove (DOKIMASAI/Test) them: so have me excused.

This is equivalent in our day to "I just bought a new car. I got to go test drive it and break it in, so have me excused."

Well, I'm off to bed. Hope to chat with you again soon. God Bless

I'm presenting this for input. God in Genesis Chapter one in verse 37 says God saw everything that he had

made and it was very good , and the evening and morning were the sixth day. Also God says in James 1:13

basically that God can't be tempted or Tried and that he Tempt no man. Another point He is always endeavoring

to keep man out of the soup so to speak. Here's the question did God put the tree of the knowledge of good and

evil or did the enemy slip it in and Eve and Adam went for it when God said don't. Because the true God doesn't

deal in confusion. Like I said in the beginning this is spit balling and a perpective.
