    Hi David.

I don't think you have to believe in the rapture or no other eschatology event.

Just believe in that what's written to be true. Believe in the gospel and build a personal relationship with the Lord. Go to him in faith and he will answer all questions in his time.

And it don't matter what religion you come out of, We all have been saved from something. "mostly self". God is faithful and stay in his word.

James 1:5-6. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

    God bless

Ray, If you've accepted Jesus as your saviour, then you have not committed the unpardonable sin.

Rejecting Jesus is the unpardonable sin

    Luke 12:9

But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

Speaking out against God isn't unpardonable, denying him is.

    Luke 12:10

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

And if you are in Christ Jesus, you are not condemned to anything.

    Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

If you confess your sins to him, he will forgive you.

    1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And if by any chance you're scared God might take your wife or kids away, remember these:

    Matthew 19:6

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

    James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Just confess your sins and ask for forgiveness and don't worry about them any more; God will forget them.

    Psalm 103:11-12

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. [12] As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

But don't use that as an excuse to continue in sin..

    God will chastise you.

    Romans 6:1-2

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? [2] God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

    Hebrews 12:6

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

If you are ever tempted to sin again, read 1 Corinthians 10:13

    Hi Gary,

I am very happy that you liked the post I put together of basically "sins or evil things" we should stay away from. I added a couple things though most of it is from the NT. I actually started taking notes of these things and have all the verses that I would like to share with you as it seems you are taking notes of these things also for your sermons. This will give you all the places, and a couple more, where I got those things I posted:

    Mark 7:20-23, Romans 1:21-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:16-21, Ephesians 5:5, Hebrews 12:14, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, James 1:19-22, Colossians 3,

As some things are noted in several places so I had to delete things so they would not show up twice.

Knowing this may help you preaching to others I am very thankful to put in my little bit to help. All glory to the Lord.

God Bless you on your journey brother Gary.

    Hi Simon,

I like to study and engage in eschatology as well, but I don't treat it like a hobby, I didn't want to deviate from Kates concern, I was addressing another issue altogether.

    Thanks.

    S. Spencer,

Greetings, this site has some of the best NT scripture-smiths around. NT 27 strong.

Salvation to me begins at the seventh trumpet twinkle, with the 144,000 first fruits standing on the hill with Messiah, the Christ. ( Revelation 14:3-4) Please try to account for any souls other than these who are worthy of the first fruit resurrection, lest ( Revelation 20:5)? From your study, what are 2 things Christians should know about salvation?

I'm really surprised at how little of the OT, especially the prophets, are discussed here. They're the foundation, they offer tomorrows clews: Daniel 7:8 being Ezekiel 38:14 (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey) should interest you enough to see what they're talking about.

One thing we can agree on is that we are living in the end-times of Matthew 24, yet no one talks about it.

    Hi Simon,

    Thanks, but no thanks,

Not interested at this time in a long, long, long Escatology debate. I was commending Kate for her concern about her love ones.

Trust me that Crack in the door will ease open again, But right now I'm talking about Soteriology!!

    Thanks.

    S. Spencer,

Jesus comes "like a thief" at the sixth trumpet too. 1 Thessalonians 5:2

    Joel 2:11

    "His" northern army defeats Babylon.

It is God with antichrist's army who lays Jacob's land desolate...

Revelation 16:15 has a magical feel to it as if it were mirroring another time stamp, which it is.

    Hi Kate,

    God bless you,

    Keep spreading the Gospel,

I pray the Lord will come "but at his appointed time" but for many of my love ones and friends I'm glad he's patient and taking his time!!

The Lord came the first time with salvation,

Next he will comes in the clouds for his Church,

And then he comes to earth in Judgement.

Now is the time for salvation!!

2 Peter 3:9. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is LONGSUFFERING TO US-WARD, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH! but that all should come to repentance.

This verse means he's tarrying giving time to repent before he comes,

We or no one else should wish for his coming for the unsaved.

Amos 5:18 (KJV) Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

Let's minister to all we can while it's still day.

    God bless you.

Amen. I also have 2 best friends who are atheists, and I really want them to believe again but it is hard. Nevertheless I won't stop spreading the gospel of Jesus and I will keep trying to let them believe again before Jesus comes.

Thank you for this. I appreciate it. I hope when Jesus comes, most of the people will be ready for it.

Simply put using the Bible translation of the NLT...

James 1:5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

Dixie, the closest passage that comes to mind in the NT is found in James 1:19: "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath". But this verse would apply generally, that a person ought to listen first & then speak and certainly in the case with God, that we would always have our ears inclined towards Him.

    Hello Earl,

I am honored that you shared that history of your life with us. Thank you very much. It means a lot.

I'm not sure what you mean by "I change my mine because you wont find any prophecies of free will, HELL or heaven; only a KINGDOM."

I think you are correct as the statement "free will" is not in the Bible directly. Though several verses that, I believe, point to this are: Joshua 24:15, John 7:17, Galatians 5:13, James 1:13-16. For a couple.

The word "hell" has taken over the Hebrew word "sheol" in the OT. Three Greek words "gehenna" "hades" and "tartarus" in the NT. All described as "bad" places simply.

For Heaven there are numerous as the one used the most in the NT, hundreds of times, is "ouranos". Strongs definition "the sky; by extension heaven (as the abode of God); by implication happiness power: eternity; specifically the Gospel (Christianity)". In John 3:13, John 3:31. Kingdom used a lot together with this word as in Matthew 6:10, Matthew 18:3.

    Thanks for your replies Earl.

    God Bless.

    God is different than man.

"But God, who is from everlasting, who is holy and righteous all together, cannot and never will change, for He is only truth, and out of truth no change can come.

With God, there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning ( James 1:17)."

"...God is different; He is outnumbered, outclassed , set aside, rejected, and spoken evil of when it is suitable to man's cause, but when He comes to the earth again as a Judge, He will still be different. The masses will be facing One whom they rejected in life as incompatible, unreasonable, and not fair. He will be the only One to speak: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of thy lord" ( Matthew 25:21). "...depart from me, ye that work iniquity ( Matthew 7:23)."

written by a brother minister in 1981.

    Hi Carlos.

I agree with what you have been told by others, especially prayer throughout your reading for understanding.

And most important be sure you have gave your life to Christ. Wisdom and understanding is given by the Holyspirit.

Here's a verse that may encourage you.

James 1:5-8 (KJV) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

This is a great site to visit for help.

    God bless.
  • Geneology of Jesus - In Reply on James 1 - 5 years ago
God did. If you read through the Geneologies from the Old Testament through to Jesus's birth in the New Testament:

You will see that through Mary's and Joseph's Geneology, that the bloodline of Jesus Christ was carefully recorded in the pages of the Bible.

Before Genesis, and the marriage of Adam to Eve, the bloodlines that would bring Jesus forward to Bethlehem; was prophesied and spoken many times.

You can Google CHARTS to view with Jesus. There's scads of charts so be sure it matches what is recorded in the King James Bible.

We know that God the father had Jesus the son to redeem the lost.

    As John 3:16 points out.

For God so loved the world he have his only begotten son. That who shall believe in him shall not parish but have external life.

Jesus came to fulfill the law. Therefore , we are saved by grace.

Thanks Lidia for that insight. I agree, even as Jesus, before releasing His Spirit, gave John that charge to care for His Mother ( John 19:25-27), and showed a special affection for John & may even have declared that to him during their times together.

We see the beauty & richness of his Gospel coming through as a result of that intimacy & impartation of Divine Truths John enjoyed & received.
  • Howard - In Reply on James 1 - 5 years ago
Thanks Chris for that insight. That really answered my question.I should have known it was John I guess I had a brain freeze.
  • Lidia Smith - In Reply on James 1 - 5 years ago
I have come to realize that "using the phrase whom Jesus loved" was indicating to us that John being the youngest, Jesus knew John's heart; knowing that He could rely on John to take care of His mother after His crucifixion's.
  • Chris - In Reply on James 1 - 5 years ago
Hi Howard. I believe that the other disciple was John himself. We read in John 20:2 "Then she (Mary Magdalene) runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them...".

John 13:23: "Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved."

John 21:20: "Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?"

So you can see the common phrase in each of these verses: "whom Jesus loved". John often referred to himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved. Why he did this, I'm unsure. Though not wanting to give any focus or attention to himself, rather to the Lord & the other brethren, could be a valid reason.

In John at the tomb.it says Peter and another disciple but does not name him. I was wondering who this in named disciple might be.

    Hi Sacha,

I am sorry to hear about the deaths in your family going on. As it is a part of life and I so understand wanting others you care about to be saved, and with the Lord, though they have their own beliefs.

I just as you, and I'm sure all others in Christ, yearn for the day that we will be with the Lord in glory where He is in His Kingdom.

    Isaac,

This will be my last post to you as I did not wish to make you angry or drive you away. You have just as much right to post here as I do. As I stated I did not want you to take my post harshly as it seems you did. I am sorry you took it that way.

You stating "you guys" but please only keep this between you and me. Maybe you are perceiving me and Carleton as "you guys" because we both asked you a similar question?

Like I stated truthfully. I am not one to sharpen your iron on this topic of Genesis. I stated where my focus is.

Please feel free to keep posting and maybe someone else can help you.

    Again I apologize.

    God Bless.
  • Carleton - In Reply on James 1 - 5 years ago
Only one reason Issac, as mentioned before, the discussion is time consuming, so the value for me must start at the Cross. I remain interested in your thoughts in Genesis 1 and 2, if I believe that finally the goal is the increase of our faith and relationship at the Cross. I am sure that no one means offense otherwise. I am sorry for my part in your offense.
