We are saved from our sins by the death burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ; and made clean by the Word which He has spoken to us. There is no salvation in any other; for there is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved. BUT, NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS TO ME, LORD, LORD, SHALL ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN; BUT HE THAT DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER! Faith is known by works!
  • Mild Bill on John 1 - 7 years ago
A disciple, To enter heaven by your own work is not of grace.Jesus did not simply make a down payment and you installments. You err in soteriology. You work, and so God owes you,or so you believe. Sadly I think of you and the multitudes working their way to heaven, misguided in pride. This format is not for personal discussion, henceforth,I will no longer respond to your messages.

  • Anthony Wright on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
I just read the social media comments for Roman 6:14, and one sentence stated that, "He who is of born of God does not sin." But in 1John 1:8, if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Can you explain this to me? Because, I am a confirmed believer. And, I sin everyday. Mindful and unmindful.
  • Favoured for ever on Psalms 82 - 7 years ago
"Ye are god". Read John 10:34 -35 for a better understanding coming from the mouth of Jesus. 35 especially explains it " if He called them gods unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken. We understand in John 1:1 that God is "the Word" which implies those professing the inspired Word of God are taking upon them His characteristics and nature but not His position as God.

Elijah, John 1:17 says, "The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ". In response to the scripture you referred to in Isa. 8:20. St. Paul said in Gal. 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live yet not I but Christ liveth in me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me". God bless!

JOHN 1:1,3.----14.) In the beginning was the word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14th verse and that work came down was made flesh and dwelled among us. The Old Testament scripture is a Schoolmaster to us. We should always be mindful to preach the whole counsel of God. Both the Old and the New Testament is of God. It is all truth. And if we come to know the truth? """Act's 16:31
  • Apo6 on John 1 - 7 years ago
The Word IS Christ. Someone commented that because those scriptures said the word WAS God that the word was separate from God; The Word 'WAS' was used only because that chapter was written about PAST events, it is therefore Past Tense. It has nothing to do with the Word being Separated from God.

Insight777 before Christ they sacrificed lambs for their sins in moses time, Christ soul purpose was to come and die on the cross for our sins, they no longer needed a lamb he was the lamb, he was the only born of flesh unlike us from dust, he is the spirit, the dove of peace, he is the light, not of dark and those that follow him and believe in him, shall live in light forever thank you Jesus
  • Preacher Charlie on 1 Samuel 15 - 7 years ago
Yes April JESUS,s blood is sufficient for all sins 1John 1:7 The blood of JESUS CHRIST cleanseth us from all sin.HE had not yet shed HIS blood in Manasseh's day. Hebrews 9:12-14.But if we reject HIS blood then judgement comes. Hebrews 10:28-29.
  • Ray321 on John 1 - 7 years ago
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. THE WORD IS GOD. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The Word is ALIVE. think GOD
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on Ephesians 1 - 7 years ago
Disciple: get out of verse 8 in 1st John get into verse 9 confess your sin give it up. Verse 9 tells me is is just to forgive us "ALL Sins" all unrighteousness is sin. Verse 8 is where we see church stumble over. Put it in context. Verse 8 in 1st John does NOT say "if we say we have no sin which we commit everyday" John is writing to a people who want to have fellowship with him. 1st John 1:4.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 3 - 7 years ago
Disciple: No sinner as the advocate we the children who are born again has the advocate. When I was a sinner the devil was my advocate. Put it in context 1st John 2. "If any man sin" Man being the outsider NOT "If any children sin" we ((the born agains)) have the advocate Jesus Christ the righteous. What is that advocate? By telling man in 1st John 1:9 to confess their sin give up their sin.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly - 7 years ago
Again out of context 1st John 1:10] If we say that we have not sinn((ed)), we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on Ephesians 1 - 7 years ago
Ray: bring me the scripture the flesh that sins and the soul will never sin but the flesh will sin? It does not exist as Jesus came to make us every whit whole soul and spirit and NOT just part of your life. 3rd John 1:2] Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly - 7 years ago
John 1:1-2 man get it all wrong. The word ((was)) is past tense and the word ((and)) is a conjunction joining two separate words into one sentence. John 1 tells us the Word was God = The Word was God's word and NOT God was the Word. God and his word are two separate things as we hold the word of God and not God in any way shape or form when we read the bible. His Son became flesh and NOT God.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 1 - 7 years ago
God and his word is ALWAYS two separate things. Numbers 11:23] And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD's hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not. Psalm 107:20] He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Proverbs 2:[1] My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;"
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 1 - 7 years ago
John 1:1 is where preachers and congregations get bewitched and stumble over. John 1:1-2 is telling us "The Word was God's Word" and NOT God was the word. The word ((was)) is past tense and ((and)) a conjunction joining three separate thoughts into a sentence. God and his word are two separate things always. God made the world by speaking words and NOT with two hands like you and I have.
  • A disciple on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way: and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:6 "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29 Christ died for our sins ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES! The Lord Jesus told the Jews who did not believe on Him; "If you believe not that I AM, you shall die in your sins."
  • Insight777 on John 3 - 7 years ago
V2, “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
John 1:5 . Nicodemus is a chief Pharisee seeking the Son of man, King to be crowned as ruler of the world. Nicodemus could not understand earthly things, that Jesus is not a king that gains power on a battlefield. He also can not understand spiritual things, that the powers Jesus has are from God because he is Gods Son.
