When we do things let 's do by God instruction as Moses did because we are the sons of God.

I think all though David had committed This terrible sin against God,him being A man after God 's on heart turned to God and ask God for forgiveness. Because He truly did love God.and we can receive the same forgiveness if we repent when We sin. 1st John 1:9 If we confess our Sins. God is faithful and just to forgive Us of our sins and cleanse us of all Unrighteousness.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it. Jeremiah 17:9 The first Adam sought his own will in the first garden and incurred a death sentence for all mankind. The second Adam Jesus Christ said in the second garden- "not my will, but thy will... " Thanks be unto God that we are purchased by the blood of the Lamb and we can confess our sins, John 1:9 and be perfect in Him- Genesis 17:1 and that our "righteousness exceeds the scribes and pharisees " of old.

Jesus is the son of God no question about it the sacrifice was gods sending of his son to die for us it 's in plain English

I think, there is no way can or will perform without his word ....because the bible said in john 1:1 that He is the word. All the universe was created by the power of His word and without His word nothing was made.So in Jeremiah 1:12 God is about to do something , so God is watching over HIS word to do what He himself have said in His word.

In Palestine shepherd pens were enclosed pens that had fences made of stone. When night fall came the shepherd in this area would use this pen for protection against predatory animals and livestock theives. There was no gate. The shepherd lay across the opening to sleep. Who or whatever intruded at night would have to walk over the Shepherd. This is what Jesus did he laid down his life for all past, present and future intruding sin that may attack us unaware. All that we have to do is ask for forgiveness- I John 1:9

This tells us who Jesus is and where he came from.
  • Tony B on John 1 - 9 years ago
It humbles me knowing that Jesus was there at creation, saying "YES " to what He was going to have to endure for us...for me...saying "YES " to creating a worm like me...saying "YES " knowing that He would have to suffer and die so we can all have the ability to accept His free gift of love and eternal life. He 's so incredibly worthy of praise!
  • Rev 10:7 on Genesis 1:26 - 9 years ago
John 1:1-2 "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God " This word "Logos " that was with God at the beginning was the Theophany before manifested in a Physical body. So God is talking to his Theophany. For example: there 's a body that 's waiting for us as soon as we leave this one, so in there we enter into that body and that 's the kind of body that God was when He said "Let us make man in our own image and in our likeness ". Lastly: According to John 1:1-2,,,that Theophany came down and was made flesh and dwelt among us, to redeem the man.He 's not talking to the Angels nor Trinity, He 's talking to his Theophany.

All this shall be revealed in the kingdom of God to those who are worthy. There is so much that Our Father, the One and Only Messiah shall sit down to reveal and we will listen with "wows " and praises when He explains.so instead of us lobbying on useless things let us seek Him, worship Him, study Him in detail and run the race.Do not allow the accuser of men to mislead you from the Divine Truth.God is Spirit and those that worship Him shall worship Him in.........Amen
  • THOMAS on John 1:1 - 9 years ago
A correction on my previous entry. The statement God makes " this day have I begotten thee " is referring to the resurrection of Jesus. If Jesus is created he cannot propitiate Gods wrath toward sinners. If God is a singular there is no sacrifice to be offered thus no hope.
  • THOMAS on John 1:1 - 9 years ago
Jesus was preexistent with the father and the holy sprit from all eternity. Any view that attempts to make god into a singular being or make Jesus into a created being is a theology that can save no one. If Christ was not the God man then his sacrifice has no eternal efficacy. The term "this day I have begotten thee " is in reference to Christ staring his ministry. If Christ is not eternal or if he is created he can save no one. GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, GOD THE HOLY SPIRT, BLESSED GOD THREE IN ONE.
  • RNM 1-18 JOHN on John 1 - 9 years ago
JOHN 1-18...Jackie, is that really what the scripture says, 1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. The same was in the beginning with God...Beyond this we are totally in the dark! to say otherwise would be to say that you were their, but we do have the account in the scripture: And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Whatever transpired in GOD 's Kingdom before the overshadowing of Mary was a planned event by an all knowing God and the willing WORD, who knew full well what HE was subjecting himself too! But also knowing what had to be done in order to redeem man from certain death and separation from God. I really don 't think satan has a thing to do with it, READ John again, the Word was God! We do not have the capacity to understand this, I know because of our vanity we like to think we do, but you can 't even get the Obedience part right, you think you are living in God 's will, but are you really, are you observing the Commandments of God, read it for yourselves, those will be the only saved, those that keep the Commandments of God , and have the testimony of Jesus, and don 't deceive yourselves, because if you keep the Sunday rest, then you are keeping man 's commandment not God 's PRAISE OUR HEAVENLY FATHER AND HIS HOLY SON AMEN!

an interesting outlook on my namesake
  • Mike D on Luke 24:27 - 9 years ago
I can remember as a new Christian only being familiar with the new testament I wondered about the usefulness of the old testament. As you begin to read the old testament you soon realize the Bible is a whole entity, and you understand cant the new testament without a clear understanding of the old, especially when it comes to the person of Christ and the prophecies concerning Him. I think of Genesis, 3: 15 where we find the first promise after the fall of a redeemer, or Genesis 3:21 where God provides the first blood sacrifice for man. In Genesis we see Abraham ready to slay Isaac his only son and it reads God will provide himself a lamb. When you visit the new testament we see John the Baptist saying Behold the lamb of God John 1:36, that this is God 's Lamb to take away the sins of the world. All through the old testament we see the suffering Messiah. A simple reading of Psalms 22 and you see Jesus on the cross 22:16 they pierced my hands and my feet. Some of the very conversations of this chapter were recorded in the Gospels 22:1 My God My God why hast thou forsaken me. Or 22vs 8. Then you move to Isaiah 53, He was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him. This is only a fraction of the things that Jesus must of told these two men as they walked to Emmaus.

here in the book of third John, the greatest love that makes God happy is to here us working in righteousness and been good to others 3 john 1:3 and also john lay emphasis that we should not have taught or character for those that do this has not seen God.
  • Ivania Adams on John 1:21 - 9 years ago
It amazes me their questions to John. They didn 't believe in the resurrection, yet they were testing John to examine every single word. Even in the last days we are living in, we have the Word of God, yet many questions, could this be possible that prophecies from the Bible are happening right in front of our eyes? And for those, who did not believe Jesus was the Messiah, might still be wondering, could this be signs of the Messiah coming to establish the kingdom? I believe because of people 's ignorance, Jesus will come to take His bride, and the remaining left will still be wondering, could that had been Elijah? Could that had been the prophet? Let 's pray for the Word of God to reach the hearts of the unbelievers and through the Holy Spirit may reveal through their hearts Jesus is, was and is to come! Amen!

why is it that the king James can put the "a " to have it say "a god " here but not have it in John 1:1 for the same Greek word and sentence structure?

There is no mistaking the audible voice. This is why he could write for God.. Numbers 7:89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him. John 1:1c ...and the word was God..

This is a amazing statement coming from the lips of Jesus. We see Jesus in his humanity surprised at the response of a Roman centurion. In John 2:25 we se that Jesus had the ability to see the hearts of men, also in John 1:47 48 we see Jesus revealing to Nathanael facts about a man he had never personally met. This would be the God man.
