All people are sinners, our righteousness is like filthy rags compared to God's. That is why we have been given the Blood of Jesus. And since our sins are erased by God (when we repent when we fail) we now look in His eyes as righteous. We are considered as righteous by Him now. So we don't please God with our own righteousness but with that which is given to us by Him (the Blood of Jesus Christ). One has to have this clear in their mind otherwise we will all end up with a guilty conscience, which is wrong So keep your way towards Heaven with joy, Jesus paid the penalty for our dins on the cross so that we have joy here and eternally in Heaven.
Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice"
GBU.
No where in the scripture you will find we should pray to Mary.
Philippians 4:6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Please consider reflecting on: Psalms 23, Psalms 91, Psalms 139, Philippians 4:12-13, 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, and Matthew 6:33-34.
Please reflect on: Philippians 4:12-13, Psalms 91, and 2 Timothy 2:1
Hopefully these are encouraging
Please consider reflecting on: Psalms 23, Philippians 4:12-13, Colossians 3:23-24.
Please consider reading and reflection on 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, Matthew 6:33-34, Philippians 4:12-13, and Psalms 37.
There are many things said about wrath, Judgement, GOD's Judgement,
I focus on James 4:14, Romans 14:12, Matthew 25:31-46,
additional scripture to think on, Psalms 37, Romans 8,
Mark 13, Matthew 24, 2Thessalonians 2:2,3, 2Thessalonians 2,
Sometimes there's judgement of GOD of individuals, 2Samuel 12:7-16, of Nations, Malachi 3:5,
Nahum 1:3, Psalms 107, 2Chronicles 7:13,14,
James 1:5,
Hopefully these are helpful
I am one of those newly born again Christian (just a baby Christian idiomatically speaking) and God has blessed me greatly. Today I want to help you also to the best that I can. I think your concern correlates to a very wonderful scripture in the Bible where it is obvious that Jesus really wants us to be specific in our prayers: see this verse:
Matthew 20:30-34 (KJV)
30 And behold , two blind mem sitting by the way side when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out saying, Have mercy on us O, Lord, thou son of David.
31 And the multitude rebuked them
because they should hold their peace; but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O, Lord, thou son of David.
32 And Jesus stood still. and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
33 They say unto Him, Lord, that our eyes may be open
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
I'll tell you: this week I have been desperately reaching out to Jesus in spirit, literally talking to him like a child to a father in my secret place , telling him everything ( what I feel, what I am worried about, what am anxious about, what I hate.. who I hate and then I repented... and so on.. I hide nothing because he knows my heart better than I. and I ask Him in detail all about this request.. to solve this problem that I thought almost insurmountable. HE JUST ANSWERED MY PRAYER LAST NIGHT. now I am so grateful and so free .. )
And also this verse I think will help : Philippians 4: 6-7
Praying for you too!
Please consider reflecting on: Psalms 91, Matthew 6:33-34, Philippians 4:12-13, 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, Psalms 55:22, Psalms 34 and Isaiah 41:10-13.
These are some great responses and I agree that Jesus is our peace. For me, peace is not a feeling but a person. And that person is Jesus Christ. I experience peace because I experience Christ in me. It's His peace. If I had to describe the peace I have in Christ, I would look at Romans 5:1-21, which talks about the privileges of justification.
Romans 5:1 starts out by saying, "Therefore being justified by faith." Even though the word "being" is in there which shows a condition or a state, literally in the Greek text it shows past tense. It is literally "After (having been) placed in a position of justification."
So now I've been justified. It's put in the past. It's a one-time thing, never to be taken back. So now after I have been justified by faith, there are seven things that are mine as an inheritance according to the next verses in Romans Chapter 5. The first thing listed is that I have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. The language indicates peace with Him because once I was at enmity with Him. I was once His enemy, but I now have peace with God.
That's is not a performance statement. It has nothing to do with my performance. It is a positional statement! My position with God is that I have peace with God. Now that does not mean that I always experience the peace of God. That's on an individual circumstance basis.
In Philippians 4:7, Paul says that once you surrender everything over to Christ, and you pray and give it all to Him, that the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. It is the peace "of" God.
So, I always have peace with God. I am never His enemy and He is never my enemy. That's positional! But to experience the peace of God comes when I trust Christ, like Abraham did by faith, I experience the peace of God.
Isaiah 40:1, 2Corinthians 1:3-22, 1Thessalonians 5:15-21,
Romans 15, 2Timothy 2:3,
Philippians 4:8,
I thank you for sharing your hardship & trusting us here with it.
I myself have suffered much as many of us have. I share scriptures in hopes to give you strength, help in endurance, encouragement.
Paul while suffering from being beaten, Colossians 2:11, Acts 22:25, stoned, 2Corinthians 11:25-27, in prisoned, 2Timothy 2:9-15, accused of sedition Acts 24:2,5,27, in context Acts 24, is this Paul who said I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me._. Philippians 4:12,13
Hebrews 13:3, Luke 17:25, 1Peter 4:12-19,
Please consider if you have a Bible to reflect on I Chronicles 4:9-10, Psalms 91, Psalms 46:1-2, Philippians 4:12-13, Psalms 34.
Proverbs 4:18-27, Deuteronomy 4:4-9, Joshua 22:5,
1Peter 1:6-25,
Matthew 13:15-43, Nahum 1:3-15, Jude 1:20-25,
Trust GOD!
Lake Mead has dried maybe to expose the evils & cleanse it. Many have prayed for years for truth exposure & crimes solved. Didn't you know there are springs of water all around that area, even going into Death Valley? & a natural underground water Basin, that flows into parts of California. Trust GOD as we see HIM work out HIS mighty will. Stop looking to anything else as your sources. Also there are several methods of cleaning sea water into drinking water, even used in Space for Astronaut survival. Huntington Beach California wanted to implement during 2016-2018, but illegal immigrant votes in the area stopped the process with petition. Many also continued to waste water, disregarding most laws, opened my eyes to what "lawlessness" is. And lawless men & women in high positions, protecting their lawlessness. GOD is Faithful 1Thessalonians 5:15-24, pray & let GOD have HIS way, trust GOD for righteous discipline, HIS Justice, HIS righteous judgement & HIS faithful provisions. Romans 12:17-21, Psalms 78:20, Psalms 147:9, Matthew 6:8,9,10,11,12,13, for they know not what they do & that they trouble their own souls: Proverbs 11:17-19,
Hopefully these are helpful & encouraging
Ps. 56:3 "What time I am afraid, I will trust in You."
Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Romans 8:37-39 "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
And remember, it says in Philippians 4:13, you "...can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth..." you.
God bless and keep you!
You can however be influenced by the devil who will try anything to separate you from God, including evil thoughts and images of things you shouldn't have been looking at or reading. My advice to you is to stay away from those things and play that God will help you to do as this verse commands, Philippians 2:5 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:" You can do this by drawing close to God in constant prayer, reading and studying His Word. James 4:8 "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."
And remember always, Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
God bless and keep you!
God bless and keep you and give you peace.
Acts 2, Acts 8, Acts 9, Acts 10, Acts 16, Acts 19, Philippians 4:22,
Note; Luke 3:7-14, Matthew 7:21-27, Matthew 25:31-46,
Hopefully these are helpful in your study
If you would 1st please consider the way it makes you feel. As you stated "horrified" that's not of GOD. Galatians 5:22-25,
2nd please consider all around you. Is there peace, is there light, anything to be thankful for? Is searching out news also symbolic of wanting to "know" what's happening in the news" Genesis 2:17, Romans 16:19,
3rd consider why there's only bad, horrible, divisive news? Hebrews 6:8, Proverbs 22:5, Why do they report the one horrible thing or person & not the million good? Is it meant to trigger rage? Hebrews 12:1, Luke 6:43-45,
1John 2:16, Titus 1:15, 2Samuel 22:27, Psalms 18:26, 1John 3:3, 2Peter 3, James 3:17, James 1:27, Philippians 4:8, Romans 8,
1Corinthians 4:5,
The Word also says: Numbers 11:12, Jude 1,
Hopefully these are helpful & encouraging
