Thank YOU FATHER for this day as I worship and glorify YOU on this Resurrection Sunday. Let YOUR face shine upon us as we go forth as an army to do YOUR will. Let all the saints arise and not be silent in giving YOU praise!
May my tongue extol and magnify YOU, because YOU so richly deserve the praise we should give unto YOU. "May the words of my mouth be acceptable unto YOU."
Thank YOU LORD for answered prayers and the peace and comfort that follows as we learn to abide in YOU according to Scripture. Isaiah 26: 3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
Praise the LORD for all on this forum and for the promises YOU give to us. May we all endeavor to trust, believe, and walk for "...in the joy of the LORD is my strength.."
In Psalm 30 we see a situation much like the story of Jonah chapter 2 where he was said to have descended to the lower parts of the earth and finally gave thanksgiving and was released in verse 9. I tend to hold with the minority position that he really died and went to Sheol taking a literal description of the passage. Here in Psalm 30; David clearly was near death either physically or in the state of constant pursuit by his enemies such as with Saul. Unlike Jonah; however there was dancing and praise that seemed to outlive the immediate time of this crisis.
(last 2 verses 11 and 12).
Verses 5 and 6 give us some clues as to David's attitude maintaining a proper perspective; he understood God's holiness (v 4) and the eternal perspective (v. 5). Verse 11 shows how David sought God with sackcloth; and recognized the strength and importance of God's favor (v. 7). This could have related to his experience after the sin with Bathsheeba and losing his son; or the time he foolishly took the census when Satan was allowed to tempt him.
These verses should lead us to seeking the Lord at all times; and not waiting until a life or death matter. If we are not of the faith; we need to seek Him while He can yet be found ( Isaiah 55:6). He may not give us time at our deathbed if it happens in an instant to repent if we are a nonbeliever; and as a believer we forfeit our rewards in heaven if we are not putting Him first and dying to self daily. We should also study Job carefully and not make the error he did not being aware of Satan's schemes; but not blaming the enemy of our souls for all our problems as sin is the means of entry for him to work. Praising God in all circumstances is in order; and in the flesh many times we don't feel like it. We need to be emptied of ourselves and consider His attributes as all other things in life are temporal and fleeting as verse 5 shows.
Chris gave a good answer, I'd like to add to the discussion. Please note the verse right before, Jeremiah 29:11, Jeremiah 29:10, sometimes we want GOD to change our situations "right now", sometimes HE does, but I believe this promise, is for GOD's people when we need the encouragement for the troubled times & endurance in longer seasons. Notice in Daniel, he & his companions had went through many difficult moments but GOD in miraculous ways delivered them, protected them & even encouraged them. I believe it was after Daniel was thrown in the lions den that he fasted & humbly prayed about the promise made in Jeremiah 29:10,11, Daniel 9:1,2,3, still waiting on that promise of 70 years,
note Daniel 6:1,2,3, (for why I place the timing, seemingly after lions den) the noted scriptures referring to about Daniel's encouragement, & companions, some say "the greater the trial the greater the miraculous": Daniel 1:8,9,17, Daniel 2:12,13,17,23Daniel 3:12-27, Daniel 4:19,24,25, Daniel 5, Daniel 6:7,10,16,22,28, Daniel 9:23, Daniel 10:11,12,18, Daniel 11:1,
Luke 10:19, there are moments that are painful but when we look at Salvation, the pruning, witness to strengthen the Body of Believers, then we realize it didn't "hurt us".
I hope these scriptures give you strength & hope= 1Peter 4:12,13, 2Corinthians 1:3-7, John 15:1-2, 1Corinthians 4:5, 2Corinthians 3:2, Zechariah 13:9, Malachi 3:3, 2Timothy 2:10, Psalms 30:5,
Endure even undue trials= 2Timothy 2:3, 2Timothy 4:5, remember Timothy was with Paul in ministry during persecution. 1Peter 2:19, Mark 13:13, James 5:10,11,
Reading the Book of Ezra was interesting, encouragement, than felt disappointing. But this is reality of Today we taught to completely our trust in God and will be blessed. Their will be times of disappointments, in our Life's that we as humans can't control. Only realize only God, if we have Faith as a mustard seed. Let God do his will in our lives completely not just on Sunday or Days that Life is going well, but on the Bad days when devil tries to persuade our minds. This one scripture has help me though 4th stage Cancer ..and other Life's consequences. God (Jesus) though his word will get though this Life only if we allow him. Now this is my favorite scripture I lean on during good times and turmoil times . Psalms 30: 1-5 ,1 I will extol thee, O Lord; for hast lifted me up, and has not made my foes( enemies) to rejoice over me.2) O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.3) O Lord , thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.4) Sing unto the Lord, oh ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.5) For his anger endureth but a moment; IN HIS FAVOR IS LIFE: WEEPING MAY ENDURE FOR A NIGHT , BUT JOY COME IN THE MORNING. It's not capitalize it's just very important to me. If we look at what King David went Thu and problems he brought on himself, Life problems that came his way. That one thing he did was being humble in the eyesight of GOD. Now if God will do that For Ezra & King David why can't do it for us.Have a blessed Life.
Donna , I needed your post today . I have been struggling with worldly insecurities a lot lately . My life is going through changes and I don't have much control over these changes at the moment , so I'm allowing my worries to get to me a bit . I'm scared that I might make a wrong choice or go in the wrong direction . I can't even control how slowly or quickly things are changing so I feel stuck while I wait to see how everything pans out . I'm not normally a worrier and I don't know why I'm stressing over my future in this life as I do know that everything in this life is going to pass away and my real life is hid in Christ . Thank you for reminding me where my future really lies .
Now O LORD God let thy promise unto David my father be established for thou hast made me king over a peaple like the dust of the earth in multitude Amen
God is always with us in good times & in bad .He knows everything. He celebrates our good times & provides comfort & solace in bad times. One can see He loves us !
Father God I thank you for this day and every thing that's headed my way God i pray every step i take is ordered by you Nothing happens with out your knowledge Father please protect me and guide me every step of the way and please provide for me and make a way in the impossible situations the ward declares if God is for me who can be against me with God all things are possible in Jesus Almighty name Amen

Thank you that i can read the Bible on line and the king James is my favorite version. It has been of great blessing to me . Remember me in your prayers.
Not in Bible scripture however, I feel the idea in many ways is: Psalms 37, 2Corinthians 4, Noteably 2Corinthians 4:16,17, 1Peter 4:7,12,13, 1Peter 4:17-19, 2Timothy 2:3, Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13, 2Thessalonians 1, Psalms 30:5, James 5:10-11, Psalms 62:5, Proverbs 20:22,
Paul talked about being taken to the 3rd heaven in his vision or actually being taken he said he did not know but he saw heaven and describes as the 3rd heaven. Jesus told the thief today you shall be with me in paradise. Some say the air from the earth to the atmosphere is the 1st heaven from the atmosphere to heaven is the 2nd and beyond that is the 3rd heaven. The Catholic's believe in purgatory, and some equate paradise with that as being the same. We know upon Christ return the dead in Christ will be raised from the dead but so will the lost souls as well. Do we go to heaven when we die we know our bodies don't but what about our sours and our spirit? The belief is our spirit that God breathed into Adam that we all have that gives us life returns to God, but our soul which is us sleeps and the Bible often refers to death as sleep in both the old and new testaments. Genesis 1:8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. look at verses 6&7 6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. the firmament he called heaven? So if you go beyond Heaven you'll find water? notice Heaven is capitalized a place.
Psalms 49:15
"But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah." implies our soul is in the grave. Ecclesiastes 9:10
"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."
Psalms 30:3
"O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit."
Ecclesiastes 3:21
"Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?"
There are two pits, one pit is the same as hell these two are the grave, Job.17:16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit when our rest together is in the dust. Psalms 30:9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? Psalms16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. We see in Revelation death and hell are cast into the lake of fire there is no more need of the grave (hell), for there will be no more death. Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
The other is the bottomless pit, this is where the angels that left their first estate are and where Satan will be chained and sealed. This is where the beast will ascend from. Jude.1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Rev.17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Many think of heaven and hell as a place people go after this fleshly death the first death. Heaven for the saved and hell for the damned. This has crept in from the Pagan religions starting from the Hellenistic times Christianity started and continued in traditions. I believe the lake of fire is not on this earth because people are still on earth when the beast and the false prophet were cast in. I believe the Bible teaches the saved and damned sleep in the dust until the resurrection when this mortal puts on immortality. I hope this does not offend anyone but I feel this is what the scriptures say.
Philippians 4:6,7: "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
That great Scripture being penned by the apostle holed up & bound in chains in prison, serves as a good reminder to us to "cast all of our care upon the Lord". It is certain that the events of the past days(s) cannot be changed and those of the future cannot be known, but voluntarily handing over the things outside our knowledge & control to a merciful, loving God Who does know & can handle them perfectly, is the best thing we can ever do. It is one thing to carefully & prayerfully consider the difficulties we're in, seeking wisdom from the Lord as to how to proceed, but when we allow that matter to constantly oppress the mind, taking away our joy, our hope & even our sleep, then this undermines the Grace of God for the believer & also to the deterioration of the mind & body.
It has always been the work of God's Spirit to bring a restless, suffering soul to a point of restful peace in Christ. Worry, agitation in spirit & irrational decisions come from one who has refused the Spirit's help, preferring to use one's own wisdom. This can never bring the Peace of God in one's life. Isaiah 30:15 well says, "For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not." Loosely translated for today: 'salvation from our struggles can only be found in coming first to the Lord & leaving it all with Him; our spiritual strength comes only by tenaciously holding onto a quiet confidence in God's great Wisdom & Power, that which He requires of us'.
Thank you for sharing your testimony of God's special ministry to your life during the times you felt you were imprisoned in but now rejoicing in His freedom.
I use to think this scripture " Weeping May Endure For A Night, But Joy Cometh In The Morning", only meant that one may cry at night and rejoice in the morning.
Now from experience, I may feel stressed, depressed, overwhelmed from all the things that happened throughout the day, but the next morning I am given a new surge of hope, energy and renewed strength. Praise be to God!!!
"Our God is an Awesome God"! When JESUS died on the Cross, He spoke a three words sentence, "It is Finished.". When we come to JESUS, we can be sure that ALL our needs have been met; The need of a Savior and Deliverer, The need. of a Comforter, Guide, Counsellor, Healer, and yes, even a provider... It's all paid for. When you have a need, reread gas 11 and 12, then lift your. hands and begin to worship the LORD for the work. has been done. Hallelujah - IT IS FINISHED! GIVE GOD THE PRAISE.
Genesis 1:20 KJV And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
The waters in verse 20 speak of the living waters of the Spirit that bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life.
This speaks of the joy that comes abundantly after the hearing of the Word of God as spoken in the living waters of the Spirit.
Many will receive the Word with joy. The "moving creature" = "sherets" (swarm) which comes from "sharats" which means "to wriggle". To "wriggle" means "twist and turn with quick writhing movements." We "dance" so to speak with joy within our hearts after the hearing of His Word spoken from Heaven in the Spirit...the living waters.
Abundant joy comes. Our mourning turns into "dancing" (Hebrew: machol which comes from "chuwl" which means "to twist or whirl (in a circular or spiral manner)". Many will "wriggle" with joy.
Psalms 30:11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
The "fowls" that fly above the earth are our words of praise and thanksgiving to Him above when we hear His knowledge as spoken in our opened hearing of Heaven (in the open firmament of Heaven).
We sing praise unto Him as birds/words of praise "fly" above the earth.
(12) To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
In the hearing of His Word of Truththe living River of the Spirit of God, everything that lives and moves. that is, rejoices shall live. Their souls shall live as they rejoice.
Ezekiel 47:9 And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
God is always there for us regardless of how we feel, or the circumstances that may come up in our lives. He is always there to forgive us when we fail He cannot fail , to comfort us when we mourn, and to keep us even when our feelings may delude us into thinking that he is not there. God is real, and he is always good to us. Thank you Lord, you are a great Father, and I am loved by you.
I will praise and magnify thee because thy have lifted me above my enemies my foes, and my illnesses. They cannot triump over me. I called on the Lord and He heard my cry and healed me.Lord you have not allowed death to take over me. I praise and thank you as I remember your Holy name. His anger or his wrath don't last long. He forgives me and Joy comes in the morning.I will praise my God forever
The message is full of encouragement. The writer has lived enough to understand severe hardship and to witness God’s healing which obliterates all the pain.

Verses 5 and 6 give us some clues as to David's attitude maintaining a proper perspective; he understood God's holiness (v 4) and the eternal perspective (v. 5).
