There surely will be persecution and tribulation ahead , but remember God's word : Be not anxious says the Lord.
The Holy Spirit constrains the devil, and when evil runs unchecked as the Holy Spirit is lifted away, we can relax to know that we also shall be lifted away, simply because the Holy Spirit has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us. When He goes, we go with Him.

@Bruce: Nahum 1:2, "the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies." 1 Thess. 5:9, "For God hath not appointed us to wrath." The wrath of God is NOT for Christians. It is for God's enemies. It will be poured out during the Tribulation. Christians will not be here then!
  • Bruce on Revelation 22 - 6 years ago
The Tribulation is Time of Persecution against God's People. It Started about 2 Thousand years ago. We Must go Through Much Tribulation. Acts14:22 / Wrath of God is Poured out in Revelation 16:1. / The Seals 1-4 of Revelation are Opened, 5-7? Power is given to Them over 25% of The World to Kill. Revelation 6:8. That's why They have All Those Troubles. Harder Times are Coming.

@Lucy. satan has had access to Heaven (see Job 1:6-7) and he has access now, accusing us before God day and night (see Rev. 12:10). But during the tribulation, he and his kind are kicked out of Heaven and sent to earth (see Rev 12:9). The tribulation will not only have the wrath of God, but also the wrath of the devil ( Rev 12:12).

  • A disciple on Revelation 22 - 6 years ago
Lucy; yes and no: the devil is running loose in the earth with a limited ability, and knowing that he has only a very short time left, rages in a fury against the Lord and His people. As we are in the hands of Jesus and the Father and have the Spirit dwelling in us; the wicked one can't touch us whenever he wants. The ungodly who cast away a good conscience and all restraint feed on his deception.

I have a question, not so much a comment.
    Has Satan been set free?
Is he free and among us now?

I love the last chapter. My church and I will begin from Chapter 1 in Genesis tomorrow, and read a chapter a day. Can't wait. Love the lord Jesus!
  • Frank Alcamo on Revelation 22 - 6 years ago
Amazing how God orchestrated the entire Bible but especial the closing chapter is especially wonderful. I am smitten with the chapter but particularly verse 14. Jesus places all through out the Bible an emphasis on obedience. But in the final chapter there is this capstone that if we honor His word we honor Him. Only those who do the will of the Father enter into the gates of the city. Amazing.

The book of Revelation uses many symbols but the scriptures themselves give you the meaning of those symbols. You have to search the scriptures to find them. It is an open book and is meant to be understood, especially in our time.

Hello Karoline. The book of revelation is as easy as the other books , since in some cases like this one God is speaking plainly. about the New Jerusalem, the city of God. It has rivers as shown , it has fruits bearing twelve types of fruits from the same tree. also the curse that God pronounced on the earth shall not be there, it shall not bear thorns ad thistles, no death no suffering.
  • Steve on Revelation 22 - 7 years ago
Karoline:These describe the rivers, streets and fruit of the NEW JERUSALEM. Besides the 12 great rivers in the midst of the 12 great Broadway's going thru the 12 gates into all parts of the earth, there will be all kind of fountains of water of life in the city. On both sides of the 12 great rivers flowing for 1500 miles thru the great Broadway's will be trees of life. There will be no more curse

  • RJ on Isaiah 56 - 7 years ago
Dj, In Christ we can live each day in holiness, but only God can make a day holy. He did that with only one day. Certainly God led you to read Isaiah 56. The Sabbath spoken of there is God's only holy seventh day. It is holy because God made it so. Isaiah 56 prophesies of a day when God's faithful will seek to please God and choose to keep His true Sabbath. Read Revelation 22:14. God is with you.

So you are neither free to keep sinner because Jesus was the sin nearer. And you keep sinning throughout your lifetime. And you are neither free from dying because we all keep dying. And we are neither free from keeping the law because Jesus himself keep the Law ,that he came not to abolish but to fulfill from Genesis chapt.2:1, Exodus 20:where God himself wrote the 10 commandment Laws with his own finger, And Revelation 22:14, where keeping Gods Law is your ticket into Heaven. So we HAVE to keep the law of God and not the Mosaic law the kiiing of sheep etc. to appease for our sins, because the good shepherd died she'd blood himself instead of sheep dying anymore.Therfore all we have to do is pray kneeling ,bowing, laying prostrate on the ground ,or just calling on the name of the Ultimate Sheep-that. was sacrificed

"And, behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." We are left here for the purpose of education and training, trial and proving to prepare us and make us fit for His presence: and so, thereby to be for witnesses through the Holy Spirit in us to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. For this to be wrought in us absolutely demand work on our part! In the Sermon on the Mount, the Lord Jesus said so in many different ways, that we absolutely have to do something and we have to do it according to all that He has commanded us! We have to be first a certain kind of character: that doesn't come automatically. And we have to have our behavior and religion pure and sincere, as children of our Father in heaven and nothing for a misleading show to be seen by men. And finally, the end result of our lives will without fail, show what kind we are, by whether we do what Jesus says and if not, we shall most miserably perish! Remember, the devil also believes, and trembles! So, when we have passed this time of our "schooling" successfully, then we will see what work the Lord REALLY has for us for eternity! Probably not in Retail, or some other menial job, like we have now! So then, we have work to do to get ready for His coming, and for the coming world He brings.

Hello Lilian; In John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress" there's a line which really touched me many years ago when I first read it! When Christian was asked why he was willing to adventure himself on such a difficult and hazardous way, his answer was so simple and powerful; "For I hope to see Him alive, who once hung dead on a tree for me." That day when we shall actually in person MEET THE LORD! :)
  • Lilian on Revelation 22 - 7 years ago
Behold I will come quickly and my Reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be. Thank you Jesus for the blood you shed for us. Blessed are those who keep and meditates and obey Gods words for the rewards are from Jesus. Thank you Father and will love you and worship you forever amen
