That is not what I said and certainly not what I meant. God is infinite and the Bible reveals only the character and nature of God that He chooses to reveal to us. Our finite minds could never begin to understand every aspect of the character and nature of God.
But God identifies Himself totally with the Word of God, and the Bible with God Himself. As the Bible declares in John 1.
John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
So can there be any doubt whatsoever that the Bible has ONE AUTHOR, and that is God Himself.
The point I am making is that we MUST come to the Bible recognizing that the Bible ALONE and in its ENTIRETY is GOD'S WORD. Not merely a collection of books ABOUT God's Word by many authors, or merely CONTAINING God's Word. But it is, in fact, THE WORD OF GOD Himself, that God has given us, form Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21.
This is not a small or insignificant matter. It is FUNDAMENTAL to understanding what God is teaching as we read and study the Bible.
Hi Tupperdan. I think you are responding to me, since I quoted Revelation 22:8,9,16.
Yes, John would have done wrong by falling at the Angel's feet to worship. How he perceived this angel, we are not told & to make guesses about this would then be unfruitful. But am I doubting the passage? I only shared the applicable verses to show that it was angel directly before John at this point & not Jesus. But when we read the whole passage, vv 8-11 reveal the angel before John & speaking to him. Then vv 12,13 & 16, show Jesus speaking (the verses 14 & 15 are not in red, but this being man's highlighting does not give us certainty of who is speaking). More than this, I don't understand where my doubt exists. If you could clarify please.
Hello Deborah. If you look at the following verses, your query should be answered: Revelation 1:1; Revelation 22:8,9,16; which then answers Revelation 19:9,10.
One could compare this to the giving of the Law at Mt. Sinai ( Deuteronomy 33:2), when the LORD God came down upon the mount with ten thousand of His saints (angels), of whom it was said (in Acts 7:53), were present & used of God in some way in that delivery. There are various interpretations of this verse, but it can be seen that angels, at least certain angels, played an important part in the impartation of God's Message, which were actually voiced & given by the LORD & the risen Savior.
Matthew 24, The fig tree in leaf: is speaking of the NEW ISRAEL, the born again, Christ is the TREE, we are the leaves, NOT national Israel.
PROPHECY:
Isaiah 6:13 But ye in it (the land) shall be a TENTH (the tithe to God, the FIRSTBORNE of the flock), and it (the Priest and Judges of the earth) SHALL RETURN, and shall be eaten; as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is IN THEM (Christ IN YOU), when they cast their leaves: so the HOLY SEED (the word of God, Christ IN YOU) shall be the substance thereof.
Revelation 22:2 And in the midst of the street of it (new Jerusalem), and on either side of the river (of LIFE: Christ), was there the tree of LIFE (Christ), which bear twelve manner of fruit (new Israel), and yielded her fruit every month (continual rebirth into new Israel): and the LEAVES were for the HEALING OF THE NATIONS.
Isaiah 59:21 And this is my covenant with them (the firstborne), saith the Lord, MY SPIRIT (the SEED) that is poured out on THEE (Christ, the firstborne SEED, of many SEED), and my words which I PUT in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of THY SEED, or out of the mouth of THY SEED'S SEED, from henceforth and evermore.
The fruit of the TREE (CHRIST) is the children of Christ; and are HIS IMAGE, the NEW Israel.
No the Bible does not teach anywhere that belief in christ is all that is required for salvation.
It repeatedly from beginning to end continues to teach faith together with obedience to God's ten commandments are a prerequisite to salvation. Everyone in the Bible is judged according to their works. Not according to their faith. Romans 3:31

There is a ton of more verses that could be attached that continue to back up truth.
The main thing is you must read the Bible for yourself because ultimately you are responsible for your own salvation. Trusting what I say or what this person says is not the way to work out your own salvation.
Then speaking of faults, may I list just a few verses 'of concern' (in Caps), just in the very chapter we're referring to. And these errors might be very slight even inconsequential to you, nevertheless they can be concerning to some:
a. Revelation 22:4: "And they shall see his face; and his name shall be IN their foreheads." The Greek gives that word as 'epi' = on. Most translations picked up on this, KJV didn't.
b. Revelation 22:11: "He that is UNJUST, let him be UNJUST still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, LET HIM BE HOLY still." For 'unjust', it should be 'unrighteous' (Gk. adikeo) and for 'let him be holy', the Greek is 'hagiastheto', which is 'let him be made holy' still: implying a continued progression in holy living (as opposed to the finality of the unrighteous).
c. Revelation 22:12: "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to GIVE every man according as his work shall be." Greek is 'apodounai', which is 'to give back, to return, to restore'.
I only share these few examples to show that, at least in the Greek Lexicons we have, there are variations in translations of the Bible, even in the KJV. These may be considered minor & certainly they are if compared to verses that are missing or distorted in other translations; but the question is 'where do we draw the line as to what translation is absolutely faithful to the words given to the apostle?' In my perception, none meet that absolute criterion, but overall, in spite of the many negative opinions by others about the KJV, I still consider it the best we have - but not perfect by any means.
Hi Jimbob & thanks for your comment. After going through it, I think we can focus on the Book of the Revelation as your comments appear to center on that.
You asked, "Ok which Bible does that book of Revelation have to be in?; referring to Revelation 22:7,18,19. Even as verse 10 states, "And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand." So we know that Jesus is speaking of this particular prophecy that He gave to John, to which John faithfully recorded. Had he not done so, I feel sure that he would have been checked, reprimanded & also become the first recipient of the dire warnings given in verses 18 & 19.
So what John had recorded was then passed on, presumably as copies to the Churches. Now for us, does it become a matter of which Bible version is the exact representation of Jesus' Message to John, considering the many hands it has passed through & the great passage of time as well? One could say, 'it does matter for we must read it as originally given' (and as you believe, the KJV is that version). But really apart from what we have now in our hands, we cannot refer to anything that the translators received & studied, & certainly not the original writings. So, if we are to state, 'KJV & nothing else', we must be entirely certain that it faithfully represents the original; to say that the words or prophecies given at the beginning can only find its complete accuracy in the KJV & nothing else, lacks verifiable proof. Why I say this, is because the contents of the Bible never point to the KJV as the repository of Truth - only one's acquired belief that the KJV is without error.
c. I understand that 2 Peter 1:19-21 speaks of the prophetical Word that was given in the past & given to the Apostle John, for the future.
d. With Revelation 22:7: this blessing from the Lord Jesus is qualified by Revelation 22:18,19, referring to the Book of the Revelation and not the KJV.
e. 2 Peter 1:21: "prophecy came not in old time": I believe it speaks of the first prophetical Word given by God in the OT & not referring to the KJV.
So clearly, we do have differences of opinion & understanding of the Scriptures & though I hold the KJV in the highest esteem as the best translation we have from the originals & use nothing else, I don't share your conviction that it fully reflects the original spoken Word. There has to be differences, as with any translation work from one language to another, and I don't believe that the Holy Spirit's involvement would do any more than was done in this work. As said earlier, it would be better still if we all read the original languages, and even then, would there be no disputes between believers?
Whatever side of the whole issue one takes in regard to Predestination and free will; we all as Bible believers (unless Universalists)
accept that some in the end are saved; and some are lost. We shall also assume that we are not of the camp that doesn't believe in a literal hell (which; by default should cause an issue with a literal heaven); and finally we will accept that eternity means eternity; not some annihilation.
All would agree that there is a set number saved and lost in the end. Despite what may be assumed by some; there is still an impetus thrusting people out to proclaim the Gospel for "Arminians" and "Calvinists." In fact; looking at the history of Whitfield; for example and other reformers; as well as personal friends of mine who are all "Calvanists" it could be argued they are the majority of those evangelizing. The emphasis is on proclaiming the Good News and having the Spirit draw those forth who He will; rather than what some call "decisional regeneration." One could say that neither viewpoint or any in-between one in regrad to free will and predestination takes away for a true believer the infallibility of the entire text of 66 books of the Bible.
What is most vital; therefore is to take the entire Word of God and consume it. If we try to pigeonhole anything to fit into our understanding of a doctrine and disregard those seemingly contradictory verses then we are doing violence to scripture. Revelation 22:18-19 is a dire warning against that book at least; it should stand also to other violations of scripture.
Of course; if we are to start a Theocracy as some of the reformers did where men are forced to believe some tenet out of fear of man's punishment we are going against what we claim about God drawing all men to Himself ( John 12:32-33). The same thing can be said when peer or family pressure exists and/or someone is "culturally or born into" Christianity. When the Spirit prompts it IS time for decision.
SO, THE QUESTION IS.What is it that those, who believe in the natural immortality of the soul, do not understand?
AN ANSWER.They do not understand, how God created man, a living soul, it they did there would be no problem understanding what returned to God, at death.
A common view of the meaning of the spirit that goes back to God, says that it refers to the breath of life. That would agree with King Solomon's statement in Ecclesiastes 3:21 where he said, "the breath of man ascends upward" at death. It is important to know that the Hebrew word that is translated as "breath" in Ecclesiastes 3:21 is the same Hebrew word that is translated as "spirit" in Ecclesiastes 12:7. So, this Hebrew word ruach can be translated as "breath" or "spirit."
It is important to know that Genesis 2:7 translates ruach as "breath." So it says, "breath of life."
The word "ruach" can be translated as "breath" or "spirit." It is translated in the "Old testament," (90) times as "wind" and (28) times "breath"
Dear "James Keith", everyone who has answered you has answered you so well, it is not to correct them I am writing, I received a word today which is in Hebrew 12 the whole chapter.
If you struggle with confusion, it means that you are fighting against the powers and authorities that are in space. Thank God for that, Praise the Lord for that. Only His name and blood can correct this further. So you are absolutely right. Read the gospel about Jesus, get to know Him in God's word. And as for the mark of God's people, you said it yourself. Revelation 22:4. Moreover, be sure that he who walks with the Lord will always have a burning candle, streams of living water. And everyone can see it on us. Even so the demons see it and reveal themselves. Those who are in people, free or not. They must then be put in place in all love, peace and freedom in a direct way, for example: tormentor leave that body (the name of person), never come back for your place is in the deepest darkness in the holy name of Jesus Christ. It's not remarkable stuff at all. No gaping and screaming. One advantage is being alone with the person. This means that you yourself have boldness. It has often happened to me that the demon reveals itself so I know which one it is. They are many. Then I just talk directly to it. Many times it is completely natural and no one notices that anything happened at all. It is about being a mouthpiece for the Holy Spirit in the holy name of Jesus Christ. Sometimes I can't even remember what I said. Only this is the mouthpiece, for the Lord knows that I want. People are saved because we, the Light, take authority over the situation in love and peace. When I, as a newbie on the road with Jesus, read these words of you. Then I could see when I closed my eyes after looking at people, that they were light. Sometimes I have used it to see if someone is a Christian, then in connection with sermons and beyond. Sometimes it shines a bright light, sometimes not. I pray for them. GB
Chris has given you a good explanation to you two queries.
I just want to add that I have been pretty much a homebody since covid began in 2020 since I have 5 of the risk factors for having a covid infection become a very serious illness for me. But, with being home, I have been blessed to also keep up with the news and world happenings and along the way I came to this site also, as I was seeking to read the KJV for the first time. This site has truly blessed me in so many ways. I hope you find yourself "at home" here. I will pray for your health.
Dear Heavenly Father, today we come to You in the name of Jesus and ask that You will bring improved health to James. We ask that You supply to James the health care that will most benefit him. We are thankful that James is seeking You more during this time. Bless James in his seeking after You and Your truth with wisdom and understanding. Amen.
alex1939...Rev.22:4...James be of a good cheer, you are involved in a warfare with the Tare satans seed...But Jesus has sowed a good seed in you which is the wheat...And they are at war...The Kingdom of God sufferes violence...Its Kingdom against Kingdom the wheat and the Tares are at war...Remember the Woman and the dragon are at war in Rev 12:5...Satan wants to kill the woman and her Child the manchild which is the wheat the H.G. that child of promise that has come to her from that good seed the word.
.....Rememeber Paul went thru the same thing saying when i wd do good evil is present with me...With my mind i serve the wheat the H.G. I serve the law of God..but with my flesh the law of sin the tare ... Romans 7:23 I see another law in my members waring against my mind bringing me unto captivity to the law of sin that is in my members...Paul was at war with the Tare satans seed. Remember Jesus said when he sows that good seed the wheat...satan will come and sows the bad seed that Tare then war rages with in us simply the Kingdom is gonna be with in us..Paul said oh wretched man that i am..But Paul says if i do something I donot consent unto its not I that does it but sin that dwells in me..But No condemnation to them in Christ Jesus
.....Thats y Jesus says we must endure to the end when the Tares are burned from our minds and the wheat the H.G. is free and gathered to his barn the Kingdom..Rev.22:11 He that is unjust let him be unjust still he that is filthy let him be filthy still thats the Tare in our minds satans seed....But he that is righteous let him be righteousness still, He that is Holy let him be Holy still thats the H.G. the wheat Jesus seed within us in this war raging in our minds...Wheat and the Tares make us 2 ppl but 1 will be taken and 1 will be left...The 2 men in 1 bed is just 1 man that has been bornagain of that good seed but the TARES make him 2 ppl..Thats y Jesus said we must endure to the end which is the harvest.1 taken and 1 left..Gbu.
b. Re: Isaiah 14:12, "Lucifer, son of the morning" and then Revelation 22:16. These two Scriptures are un-related & the persons are in opposition to each other. The Isaiah one is a prophecy against the King of Babylon (verse 4), who outshone the kings of the Earth in splendour & power & because of it, believed he was even greater than the gods or even God Himself. This prophecy alludes to Satan who has similar ambitions, not knowing that he, as that earthly king, will "be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit". He might be called 'son of the morning' for his presence, power & what the world first looks for in the new day as they follow him & his ways. But The Morning Star shines throughout eternity, offering the "water of life freely" to all who are athirst. And He will come again in glorious splendour reigning with His saints forever.
In Revelation 22:12, the word for "bright" is 'lampros' in Greek, which simply means, 'magnificent, bright, splendid'. And "morning star", is a reference to the brightest star that is seen in the morning, being Venus. To connect Lucifer to Jesus is very wrong, since the meaning of Lucifer ('a shining one') and Jesus ('Yahweh is salvation') are clearly different and only Jesus is said to be the 'Morning Star'. The other 'morning stars' are given in Job 38:7, probably referring to the angels or heavenly beings.
Hello James. Sorry to read of your poor health & the confusions & contradictions that are overwhelming you. I would hold onto the Lord Jesus' Words: to 'come to Him if you're over-laden with the cares, concerns & burdens of this life - He promises His rest to all who come.' ( Matthew 11:28). Even in ill-health & hopelessness, Jesus' Peace can over-rule our hearts & minds & give us a certainty of His involvement in our lives & a future where heart-ache & pain will be no more. ( John 14:27; John 16:33; Philippians 4:6,7; Revelation 21:3,4).
And that is wonderful, that you are persisting in reading God's Word, for therein are the words of Truth & Life. The Promises of God are "yea & in Him Amen" (i.e. they are certain & will not fail); I pray that you will really come to the point of placing your complete trust & hope in Jesus, for He truly is the Answer, the only Answer, to all of our sins, sorrows, hopes & dreams.
To your questions:
a. I think you're quoting Revelation 22:4, "And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads." I picked this verse, as the verses that give the mark of the beast don't apply to the believer in Christ, for if he were present at that time & faithful to the Lord & not to Satan, he would refuse that mark and bear the consequences. In Revelation 22:4, I can't be sure whether there is a physical imprint of Jesus' Name there, or this verse speaks metaphorically. Just as how the mark of the Anti-Christ will be made to appear on all those who wish to follow him & continue to live & not die under his rule.
"4And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads."
I've squandered the last few years speedily absorbing anything and everything in a never ending research in global events - studying all things Jewish - and studying Christianity, attempting to understand what's happening in the world, by whom, why, and what it means - or what I should do.
I know for multiple reasons, there is simply not enough time to come even close to one full reading of the New Testament. If the world doesn't implode, well my health is... quite bad, which i've come to terms with. Life always being overrated imo, yet I have found comfort in Christs words, though remaining conflicted & confused. I know Revelations warns twice not to be deceived I'm hopelessly deceivedconfused.
I'm aware of the "mark of the beast" branded either in the forehead, or the right hand. That being said, I've on occasion heard, or read snippets of something of this above line, Christ's people who reject the mark of the beast, six hundred and sixty six, no buying, selling, being beheaded, and em, much unpleasantries of Tribulation (The general idea of it anyway), but what can you tell me of a mark that followers of Jesus Christ, faithfully, are supposed to haveget?
One other please, I'm familiar with the names, "Lucifer Lightbringer" & "Lucifer Morningstar" and reading an insinuation that Jesus is Lucifer from a randomly encountered commentary bringing me here:
"16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star."
Reading it... didn't dispel their claim. Can this be a translation confusion from Greek to English, or am I just a total idiot? Why is Jesus saying he is the "Bright" (Lightbringer?) and "Morning star" (Lucifer Morningstar?!)
Not even sure if this'll get read, but apologies for the foolish questions. I have a million more, but if anyone responds to these two, thank you.
If that's true, that is very disappointing. Mark 9, & Matthew 17:21, Matthew 17, helps us understand how to deliver & heal the worst cases of torment upon a person by prayer & fasting. We cannot understand why anyone does bad, the spirit of a man knows the man, 1Corinthians 2:11,
We're told not to add or take away Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:18,19,
I don't think that this site is supportive of giving out e-mails addresses. I think that you can just post to me and I will repond on this site. I come here daily. At this time I do not wish to give out my e-mail address.
If you add or removed anything from his word which is the bible, you will not enter into eternal life and you will be taken out of the book of life which has the names of all those who have been given salvation at the cross by the grace of God.

I also found it's used with the HOLY Spirit in Old Testament in Isaiah 63:10, Holy: translation as ( qodesh )
with searching site word search & then referenced Strongs Exhaustive Concordance on site.
& Isaiah 11:12 as And the Spirit, of the LORD (Yhovah) transliteration (Yhvh)
Spirit (ruwach) used 3 times in same verse, prophetic of Jesus CHRIST, awesome

Amen.

We're told not to add or take away Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:18,19,
I don't think that this site is supportive of giving out e-mails addresses. I think that you can just post to me and I will repond on this site. I come here daily. At this time I do not wish to give out my e-mail address.
