She must have had mixed feelings and emotions, ecstatic that she was the chosen one to bear the christ child. A very proud moment for this young woman, she perhaps at best should not have been able to contain herself. But being overshadowed by the power of the highest and being filled with the Holy Ghost, she had no choice but to behave herself . So she just kept pondering the series of events in her heart.
Angels were the heralds of the good news. Not to the rich, intelligents first, but to the poor, humble and hard working shepherds who were keeping watch of their flock.Even when Jesus came,he did not come through the royal line, rich or wealthy parent even born in animal pen
Even the Bible refers to the babe as Christ, but Christ was not meant to be used as a noun, it was a word roughly translated to mean The chosen one, or The annointed one. ' ' We were taught as children that ALL characters in the Bible had only one name, but carried a description of where they hailed from, eg Jesus of Nazareth, but Jesus was also called Jesus Christ, meaning, Jesus the anointed one, or Jesus the chosen one. So why is it that some use the title Christ as a noun?
hi! brothers and sisters, if we applied these scriptures to our daily lives we will increased in status and in wisdom we, will have favor with god and men. may god bless . sis. v. rolle amen
They went there every year and Jesus, including the other children, knew their way home and would always arrive without any ado.So meaning that even their parents would not worry on the way where the children were.So it was not a matter of neglect but He remained intentionally
Jesus, being the sacrificial lamb, had to have the sacrificial lamb substituted for either two turtle doves or two pigeons for this reason. In His instance it was not imperative for the lamb of sacrifice to be offered twice, first at birth and secondly at death but ideal only at death as the burnt offering Himself. This was the set up that God did
This is really good news to the world. Because messenger from Heaven is witness to the world. And the world should enjoy in him but not in the world. We should not fear for any thing because the Lord from heaven is with us now. All his grace is with us. So now we should feel happy and fear not. May god bless you.
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. " LK 2 52 . Prior to this statement, Jesus went about His "Father 's business ". Any one who is committed to God will surely experience divine increase.
The average low temperature in Bethlehem in December is 42 degrees F, certainly not too "cold" for woolly sheep to be out in the fields. Plus, historical Talmudic sources state that the sheep in Judaea "laid out in the summer and in the rainy season," ergo year round. And too, the summer is the dry season and there is no grass and many of the water holes dry up so shepherds move their flocks north into the cooler regions where rain and therefore grass and water is readily available. But in the fall the rain begin in Judaea and through the winter the fields are once more green with grass for the flocks to graze on. The only time flocks of sheep wouldn't be "in the fields" around Bethlehem would be in summer when there's no grass and little water. But then too we must consider that according to other historical documents the "temple flock" (those sheep destined for sacrifice in Jerusalem) were kept in the fields at Bethlehem, which means there would be sheep there year round to supply the sacrificial needs of the Temple in Jerusalem 5 miles away.
I would like to respond to Rickey's remark in Luke2 and Matthew 2 on wise men and shepard's. I think if you read God's word's carefully, that it is speaking of different groups of men.The wise men, we are not told how many, just three gifts, they saw him in a house. Matthew 2:11. The shepards saw him, Luke 2:16 in a manger and he is called babe, Matthew refers to Him as the young child. Something to think about.
regarding Afzal Iqbal's old post. The bible provides guidance on how to raise out children. sorry I don't have the passage but that is how the rest of your children should be raised.
mathews report that they were wise men.....but in luke 2verse 9 shephards ...the quiz question denies them being wise men but shephards ....i reckon that they were both wise shepards men....lol
A sense of love, well being and protection has hovered in the mist of my life from a young child when I First discovered Jesus Christ to the old age that he has brought me too. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ, for the love you giving me and for carrying my sins, of whom I am not deserving of your love or forgiveness. I love you and continue to seek your will for me.
Interesting that Jesus was now 12. Not alot of information between when he was born and now 12. Also shows his maturity between a small child and a young teeenager in the Holy Spirit. He knows who he is now and sets out to complete his mission.
Verse 4 is all awash with inconsistencies. First the city of David is Jerusalem and not Bethlehem. Secondly, Joseph and Mary did not go to Nazareth until after the birth of Jesus; to escape the wrath of Herod and thus fulfilling the prophecy that Jesus would be called a Nazarene.
Whether He was born on 25th or not , is not important, HE WAS BORN ON A PARTICULAR DAY TO SAVE ALL PEOPLE.HAPPY ARE THOSE THAT HAVE NOT SEEN YET BELIEVED.
