JESUS CHRIST is God the Creator, the Father, the Son and our Saviour the Redeemer. Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD and beside me there is no saviour. Luke 1:47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Acts 13:23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus: Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 1 Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

1 John 5:7 "There are three that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one." (The Word is Jesus, Jesus is God=the Father)
  • Stephenderafael on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Yes, Jesus is the Son of God, of course. The son is not the Father. No one has seen God but Jesus was intimate with him, calling him Abba This is why Jesus was not Joseph's son.Has not God sent many messengers but only one Son?. As this Lukan parable states, they will kill the Son in order to wrest the kingdom from the husbandman. Indeed this has come to pass.

No mater what people say or think. Its irrelevant now. Jesus has saved and cleansed me and millions from sin and eternal death.for which we are eternally grateful

This scripture reveals the truth that Jesus is indeed God. Mathew 1:23, contrary to what Jehovah Witness people thinks that Jesus is not God. Here is the true people read the regular bible, not the New World. Even Jewish people who are converting themselves to Jesus and that know the original Greek and Hebrew languages, are saying that Jehovah Witnesses are wrong on this belief. Jesus is Lord.

Insight 777; Matthew 1:16;you wrote",this proves Jesus was NOT of the bloodline of David" Luke 18:38"And he cried saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me."Matthew1:1 "The book of the generation of Jesus the son of David, the Son of Abraham." Romans 1:3,2Timoth2:8, Matthew 20:30, etc. You say he is NOT Son of David; God says he is. I believe God not you.
  • Insight 777 on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Verse 16 proves that Jesus is NOT of the bloodline of David. He is only associated with David by Hebrew law of marriage. Jesus is the Son of God as he declared to the blind man he cured.
It is interesting Joseph did not name Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us. Matt. 22:43-45 The word God is not used but Lord instead. Lord is the ruler of an earthly kingdom that kills enemies. Jesus taught DO NOT KILL.
  • Annette on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
I believe Jesus is a descendant of David because of his conception and also the house of Joseph both would apply.
  • Kemi olaiya on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Jesus was born for a purpose.to save humanity from their sin.Joseph was not his biological father
  • Doanh Nguyen on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Best KJV site with daily verses and bible search, and commentaries. I use it almost daily.
    My comments on Matthews 1:
Jesus wasn't born from Joseph, who was a descendant of David. Jesus was born into the house of Joseph, which made him (Jesus) a legal descendant of David.
  • Dennisheffernan1234@gmail.com on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Chapter one talks about the birth of Christ. God illustrates the fact that Jesus was conceived by Mary which humanizes Jesus but also distinguishes Jesus as the son of God by being conceived by the Holy Spirit. Remember Jesus was man in the flesh but he also was God. To summarize, Jesus was God in human flesh. Not easy to understand but powerful in that God would humble himself by becoming Man.
  • Helen on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
I don't understand the genealogy because Joseph was not biologically the father.

  • Tommy on Matthew 1 - 9 years ago
There is a lot of promises in this book, the best being eternal life to those who believe that Jesus was crucified, buried and rose again as payment for the sins of the whole world. that is the Gospel of Christ. every man is guilty before God and on their way to Hell the only way to be saved is to believe on Christ.

Matthew may have written for the Jews but the Sermon on the Mount is a guide to living life as a Christian for everyone. Rather than use Matthew 5 - 7 to shape our lives we have a tendency to read it and consider it a good sermon. Try reading these three Chapters with the belief that each word has been written for you.

I learned about the lineage of Jesus, his birth and prophecy regarding his coming into the world born of a virgin, the son of God

This chapter of genoalogy proves that the history of all generations from Adam to Jesus is real and true. and the unbelievers also believe our God is the real God . Every thing is proved through this chapter.
  • Larry on Matthew 1 - 9 years ago
For those who already lost their faith, this chapter actually will bring you back on track with a lot of things that you will be glad about because it tells us that we are not lost and we are bound to a place where we can say I am LOVED.

You may think that you've commited a sin that cannot be pardoned, thez no sin greater than the blood of Jesus that was shed on the mount of calvary,im not perfect but am confident coz Jesus has purified me.
  • Michael McManus on Matthew 1:1 - 9 years ago
The path has irregularities, bumps, and soul challenges. The truth is him. I have lived in many nations traveled the world and sinned in applicable nations. My intellect and IQ scores exceed human parameters and I have spent decades in foreign nations. With this experience I elect to follow Jesus's path. In my analysis all humans should follow the path of Jesus as it the best path for human civilization
