I believe it speaks volumes about enduring till the rapture when we will not have to be here during the tribulation period.

I believe what revelation says about the church of Philadelphia, because we have kept his word and what are the works to tell everyone about what Jesus did at the cross. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. We have done that and obeyed his word and do his will and he will rapture us out of here before the tribulation. The Holy Ghost is holding back till Jesus comes to get his bride.

Garyloyds, Revelation 3:10 says CHRIST WILL SAVE US FROM THE HOUR OF TEMPTATION THAT WILL COME UPON THE WHOLE WORLD TO TRY THEM that dwell on the earth! THE 7 YEARS TRIBULATION! True believers will be saved from Jacob’s trouble because we have been saved from God’s wrath!

I think this is our promise from God.. No matter who we are in life and how people perceive us, he will also accept us... some of mankind who have all the riches on earth and are praised by many men mean nothing in the kingdom of God.. Unless they accept him first.. And once you open your heart to him it's all or nothing.. You either are or, you aren't.. And deceiving him is the ultimate sin because then you're cast away.. And never let another man stand in the way of your relationship with God because he is the almighty and he will always protect you no matter what. He wants everything that is good for you...never let the fear and temptation that the world can put on you jeopardize your integrity and devolution.... he will be with you on every step of the way.. I think the Open door was set as a result of what the people have done. One cannot have a door without a building, so the people had done some building and regard to that, Christ says I will put the door of this building. The open door was a reward of their works. God cannot stand a christian who is lukewarm. Either he or she be hot or cold. The lukewarm church made Him sick in His stomack. God warns us of lukewarmness and tells us to be aware of this happening to us in our christain experience with Him

Someone told me Rev.3:10 was where they get to fly away. This verse is speaking of the "elect". They escape because they were sealed with the truth and didn't bow down to instead of Christ, or antichrist. This is not speaking of a church someone belongs to. It is an example of a great church to attend. But God`s set a side ones, "Church" will be here. All will changed in a twinkle of an eye. The Lord Jesus only comes at the LAST TRUMP! When antichrist gets here just pinch yourself, hurt, your flesh. If Gods Chosen children are going to be here to stand against satan as it is written how can the rapture people think they will fly? They say, why we don't have to read Gods Revelation we`ll all be gone. Yup! You will be gone if you don't read Gods words.

It sound like a key for jesus to come into you for ever more and with there help with your every step one can take now it will alway be the best move anyone could hope to ever take in life.

The Laodecean Church - neither cold nor hot, wretched, miserable, poor, blind & naked. The last church is blind - lost sight of the LIGHT; naked - rejected the righteousness of YAHUSHUA. Wretched, Miserable & Poor - exchaged the Tresures of Heaven for the Worldly Treasures.

Come out, Come out of Babylon - the remnant/chosen few are being called out of the Apostate Corporate Churches that have joined their Mother Harlot.

This last Church will buy gold tried in fire, will go through the "GREAT TRIBULATION" and in the end will receive the White Raiment - the Righteousness only YAHUSHUA's blood can give!

Type -o in the posted notes before this one and the Name Jesus is to important. "Jesus pointed". In 3:7 this key of David unlocks Isaiahs prophecy ( Isaiah 22.22. Speaks of the key in the Old Testament) the prophecy is that out of the roots of Jesse, the father of David would come Jesus. The Key of David opens up the scriptures for you. If you have and utulize it no man can take the truth away from you or steal your crown.understanding the Prophecy gives us the lineage of Jesus Christ. If one understands the key they can't be decieved by them that teach the scriptures wrong.These examples of 7 churches gives us two that teach the truth so we look for the two that teach us scriptures and not fishing stories and a verse here or there. What I see in the scriptures is not to be deceived by the first superman saying he is Christ that will heal a deadly wound of 10 kings of the flesh. Could be a peace treaty? The word says don't worry about wars and rumours of wars they will be and the opposit is peace. So watch out for peace. They could come together to fix the money problem of the world and one king of a country pulls out and that brings the antichrist to fix it and show his superman powers and tell the world he is god and will fly them away. The whole world "all" will chase after him except them that have the key of David and know the truth of the seals. The four stages of the locust have been busy in the churches teaching people not to worry they don't need to read the word because they will all be gone flying someplace? But the problem is "all" are changed at the 7th trump. Plus the fact that Jesus loves Jerusalem and plans on coming back here to live and He is flying here and not someplace else. Then there is one more thought, God loves His Elect and they will stand and stay and face the dragon but the chicken flyers who didn't have to study but sang songs and pull verses to make up a lie of fly get to leave like cowards to escape. I don't think so! We are to have our Gospel Armor in place. That's to know all the Word of God and the Shield to fight with. Only cowards fly is a thought. Men with courage stand. Don't be deceived by false preachers and prophets all through the word it God says, He says Llisten to Me". Meaning the Word of God.

When gold is tried and the dregs are all gone we won't remember them. Help all you can while they live even if they think its not serious because it is very serious. I blast people with what I think is true because I hope and pray that they don't end up as smoke and they study to prove me wrong. Keeps us in the Word and that's all that matters. I wonder if the lake of fire is symbolism. As if the lake are the people and they just vanished. Like seperating the sheeps from the goats. Jeuse pointed towards the dump and said hell is like that. When at the dump all you see is smoke coming up. I think when God slamms the hammer down people will be gone and at the same time we won't remember a thing about the flesh or them that lost life for there are no tears in heaven.

Revelations 2 & 3 are God's time line for this present age from Pentacost to the time of his calling "come up hither". Jesus reveals this in the 7 parables of Matt. Chap. 13. We are definitely in the midst of the Laodicean age of the church. "Having a form of Godliness but denying the power thereof". Thank the Lord Jesus that in every stage of human history there has always remained a remnant of the true believers, born again, blood washed, children of the Living God. You can know that you have passed from death unto Life because you "Love the Brethren". While Jesus was on the earth he was the manifestation of God's love for mankind but now his Church is the manifestation of God's love for mankind.

The lake is not forever...GOD takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked...PRAISE HIM IN ALL THINGS !!!!Compare Scripture to Scripture,SPIRITUAL WITH SPIRITUAL..AND pray,pray,pray THAT your eyes might be opened....thank you FATHER FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE.

Therefore,WATCH (pray,read the BIBLE) REVELATION 18 EXPLAINS WHAT IS COMING TO THIS PRESENT WORLD...SHE IS RIPE FOR JUDGEMENT...PRAISE JEHOVAH !

We live in such a lukewarm age, we haven't the sense to know that we are lukewarm. We don't witness like we should; we need to realize that the lake of fire is forever and is real and hot and everyone who does not confess Jesus Christ as Lord is going there. No man cometh to the Father but by me, Jesus said. All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God ( Rom. 3:23) But--the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ( Rom. 6:23) God help us to be a shining light to a lost and dying world.

Chapter 3 ends with the last three churches of Asia. And this chapter begins with the church of Sardis, this church had lost there spiritual zeal, and Jesus was telling them to be watchful and strength the things which remain, what He was meaning is that they need to wake up and get it right, get there spiritual zeal back, because losing that is like commiting spiritual suicide and it's really no different from commiting natural suicide, your spirit is slowly dying, and when you lose your zeal you really die out, and you really dont want to be around spirit holy ghost people, because you would rather be at home or in a carnel position with unbelievers, so that's what I got out of the church of Sardis. The next church was the church of Philadelphia, and I really can admire this church, because this is the only church that did not recieve rebuke, because thru all that they went thru they stayed steady and consisted in there walk with the Lord thru all that they went thru they stayed firm thru great persecution, this congregation remanined faithful to the Lord, and I would love to be like this church, I know in the past I have not always been like this church, but now I know that I have the opportunity to be like this church if I really want to. This is the last church, the church of Lacdicea, now this is the church that I definetly do not, refuse to be like. Jesus told this church that He would rather for them to be hot or cold, than to walk around lukewarm (hypocriteing) He said that He will spue you out of His mouth, now would we rather walk around hot or cold, or to walk around lukewarm so Jesus can spue us out of His mouth. it is such a blessing that God gives us a choice and does not make us do anything that we don't want to do, God really wants us to to hot (on fire for Him) but he is not making us be hot, but God said in His word 2Pet. 3:9b The Lord not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But even with the scripture, somebody has to fulfill everything in the word, so everybody will not be saved going to the scrpiture Matt.20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last, for many be called but few chosen, thats because the bible has to be fulfilled, but rememeber we all hove a choice, what choice will you make. Acts 2:38 gives it all to us, Go find a church that is preaching and teaching the truth, the bible way no adding, subtracting, divivding, or multiplying just the raw word in Jesus name. be blessed.

Could it be that the 7 churches are a look of the past, an example for the present, and a guide of the future. Its so obviously speaking of the past, the present, and future so cleverly at the same time. If I were to focus on the present I would say that the church overall of this generation would be comparable to the church of Sardis.

I wonder if anyone else feels the change thats coming, The change of the church is here for this generation, I know I sound foolish to some but I know Im not the only one out there thats heard the calling. To all the sheep dogs in waiting, The time is now - the time of the warriors.

Franc makes excellent points, my only contention with it is, we need to shed the heavy coat of Denominations as apossed to embracing them. I think when we embrace thewm we in esscence (please excuse my spelling)are chosing the lesser of the evils. If we dont teach as Sardus and Philidelphia i.e.."the key of David" we are failing ourselfs and other by only serving milk at the table when we and others are CRAVING meat. I belive many proficies have come to pass, from the first to some seals and trumps. As Ezekiel states we are to be watchers and we maybe held accountable if we refuse to warn of inpending danger, (just watch the news). Javier, dude Jesus told the returning Disiples (im paraphrasing) when they rebuked folks casting devils and healing ing in his name, rebuke them not if they arent against us their for us. I have an opinion about the identity of the seven churches. I have followed the teachings of the Seventh Day Adventists who have a strong tendency to teach the visions of their prophetess Ellen White, who received visions via a spirit which identified itself as the "Spirit of Prophecy." I believe this spirit to be "Jezebel" ( Rev. 2:20) deceiving God's servants to "commit fornication and eat things sacrificed to idols." Seventh Day Adventists abstain from drinking wine, tend toward vegetarianism and other dietary changes from what God teaches. Following the teachings, ideas, suggestions or commandments of the Spirit of Prophecy, opposing God's laws is "fornication" in God's eyes. All this while at the same time, the works of the SDA church clearly resemble those listed in verse 19 (love, service, faith, patience, and increasing works). Most other Christian denominations have much to learn from the Adventists on how to fulfil God's love through works, and the Adventists would be well advised to read and study the Bible for what it says, instead of relying on the visions given by the self proclaimed "Spirit of Prophecy."
Sardis is also easily identified today because the church which received the truth at the begining but changed everything around to the point that is no longer "alive" is by far the largest Christian denomination today. The Catholic Church, after receiving God's truth from the apostle Peter himself, went on to change God's Sabbath for Sunday; God's Holy Days for pagan festivals; baptism by immersion for sprinkling; modifying the 10 commandments to allow the worship and veneration of Mary, saints, and Jesus through the use of statues and other idols. This is actually the reason why God tells them they are "dead", and counsels them to go back to the original gospel ( Rev. 3: 1-3).
All the works of the messages to the seven churches can be seen among Christian denominations today, and I agree with the previous comment that we are responsible to identify the true works of the particular denomination we follow and repent accordingly.

It is clear that the messages in chapters two and three refer to churches that exist until the time of the advent.
Thyatira is told to retain what [good] they have until "I come" (Jesus speaking). Sardis also is instructed that if they do not repent, Jesus will "come upon them" [advent] as a thief, at a time they are not expecting; therefore both these churches have to exist at the time Jesus returns to earth.
Most of the many prophecies in these two chapters are yet to be fulfilled; therefore, these seven churches exist today each with its own particular works as stated. Our challenge is to identify the works of our particular Christian denomination in order to know where we need to repent.
