The righteousness of Lot was not determined by what he did. In fact much of what he did was self-serving and his choices resulted in him losing most of what God graciously gave him in this world.

His righteousness could only be bestowed upon him by God's grace through faith, as Abraham was his influential example:

For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. ( Romans 4:3-8)

Our righteousness is the gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement for our sins by his crucified death, burial and resurrection.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. ( 2 Corinthians 5:21)

As the mighty men mentioned in the Old Testament who obtained by warfare, they fought physical battles. So, in the New Testament we fight spiritual battles. The weapons of are warfare are not carnal, but, mighty through GOD, to the pulling down of strongholds.this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. ( Luke 16:16)

This is referring to John the Baptist, and signifies that John was the end of the old disposition and the forerunner of God's new testament in Jesus Christ.

For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. ( Luke 7:28)

And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. ( 2 Kings 4:8)

A Shunammite is a person dwelling in Shunem.

Again, I can't disagree with the Scriptures you quote, Matthew 5:17,18. They were valid at that time as they are valid today: the Law came from the Mouth of God, Jesus came to fulfil all of its demands & the prophecies about Him of which none other could, & the Law's purity & power remain unchanged even today.

What changed after Jesus' ministry on Earth & His death & resurrection, was that that Law that was supposed to bring us life actually showed us our sin & incapability of keeping it, thereby guaranteeing us separation from God for all eternity: Romans 7:10,11, "And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me".

So for those who bind themselves to the Law now after expressing faith in Jesus' Sacrifice for their sins & still desire to please God by fulfilling the requirements of the Law, will most certainly fail before God now, just as the Jews did (& Saul did) before. Romans 8:3,4, "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh (i.e. man could never fully obey the Law), God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit".

And what is it to "walk after the Spirit"? Romans 8:2: "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death". The Law by the Life-giving Spirit of God which is now in every believer fully meets our legal position before God. Why? Because we are now "in Christ" & come under His Spirit's Laws & not under the Laws that condemned us. If now in this glorious position because of God's Gift of His Son, why should we turn back to that which kills us rather that we obey the Giver of Eternal Life? Hebrews 8:10: this was God's Plan from the beginning: the written Law would fade allowing for the new Law in the heart by Christ.

The reason for Daniel mourning in chapter 10 is not specified here, but if we look at chapter 9 we can see he had a great burden for his people and longed for the day when they could return to Jerusalem. He humbled himself and sought the LORD, confessing his and Israel's sin, and implored the LORD according his mercy to fulfill the number of days of their captivity.

Jesus, as described in the New Testament, was most likely crucified on Friday April 3, 33 A.D.

The latest investigation, reported in the journal International Geology Review, focused on earthquake activity at the Dead Sea, located 13 miles from Jerusalem. The Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 27, mentions that an earthquake coincided with the crucifixion:

"And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open."

To analyze earthquake activity in the region, geologist Jefferson Williams of Supersonic Geophysical and colleagues Markus Schwab and Achim Brauer of the German Research Center for Geosciences studied three cores from the beach of the Ein Gedi Spa adjacent to the Dead Sea.

Varves, which are annual layers of deposition in the sediments, reveal that at least two major earthquakes affected the core: a widespread earthquake in 31 B.C. and an early first century seismic event that happened sometime between 26 A.D. and 36 A.D.

The latter period occurred during "the years when Pontius Pilate was procurator of Judea and when the earthquake of the Gospel of Matthew is historically constrained," Williams said.

"The day and date of the crucifixion (Good Friday) are known with a fair degree of precision," he said. But the year has been in question.

In terms of textual clues to the date of the crucifixion, Williams quoted a Nature paper authored by Colin Humphreys and Graeme Waddington. Williams summarized their work as follows:

    * All four gospels and Tacitus in Annals (XV,44) agree that the crucifixion occurred when Pontius Pilate was procurator of Judea from 26-36 AD.

    * All four gospels say the crucifixion occurred on a Friday.

    * All four gospels agree that Jesus died a few hours before the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath (nightfall on a Friday).

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

  • The Marriage of the Lamb of God - In Reply on Nehemiah 2:6 - 5 years ago
    God is Spirit.

    The Holy Spirit is Spirit.

Jesus. As noted in the Book of Revelation, is the Son of Man.

Angels do not marry or are given in marriage.

Hollywood is not aware of this. They make boatloads of money showing sensual, representations from their godless writers, to sell tickets, DVDs, merchandise.

In the Bible, Jesus is the Bridegroom and His Church is the Bride of Christ. He is in covenant with the Body of Christ (us). The Marriage of the Lamb of God is not fleshly.

  • Praying to the east is not in the Bible - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 1:26 - 5 years ago
Israeli Jews pull their prayer shawl over their heads to pray. Scripture says to enter the closet to pray. They do not face east like the Palestinians do.

    Example:

    Revelation 16:12

And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the East might be prepared.

Kings from the East traveled to Bethlehem to see Jesus after his birth. They followed the prophetic writings about his birth.

There are even prophesies about the Abrahamic Accord that recently was signed between Israel and the UAE (Arab nations). It's interesting to follow the process of Prophesy with the daily news. Even tho our national news media barely speaks of it. Obviously they have little knowledge about it.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ( Isaiah 1:18)

If you sincerely put your trust in Jesus Christ knowing that he, being the sinless Son of God, laid his life down to pay for our sins, was crucified, dead and buried, and then raised from the dead, you will be saved and fully forgiven.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. ( Psalm 103:10-12)

But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. ( Acts 13:37-39)

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. ( Romans 3:23-26)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ( 1 John 1:9)

The wages of sin is death .

New Testament teaching by Apostle Paul .

Sin shall not have dominion over you .

If you sow to the flesh you will die .

False teachers appeal to the flesh and turn the Grace if God unto sinful practice .

So if you are sinning and unable to get the victory , look at the gospel you believed , it may be devils gospel .

Ask the Lord to help you as you read the scriptures to set you free .

It's not a doctrine alone but real power over sin and a liberty in Christ to follow him in love and truth by his grace .

Faith worketh by love , it not hard to believe God when you know he loves you .

The devil causes all kind of errors to be sure .

My God is Strong. My God is my Great Love of my Life. He walks with me. He talks to me. I feel His Light close to me. Always leading me to see everything through His eyes. Always opposite what the world seems to be. Day to Day l give my Life to Him. Never the evilness of mankind. For if l walked the world's way of Me Myself and l, l would never be able to finish what my God wants me to do. Look around at the suffering. They have nothing. But they have a God they can go to. And so they go day to day staying in His Grace. So in these days when God is close to coming, choose what side you will be on. Take it from me. I lived the world. Met God in an after death. Know He is real and very Loving to His people who keep the Faith!!!

Pray for me! During Covid I have had time to reflect back on my life and decisions I have made. As I reflect I missed out on the life god had for me. He gave me an amazing mom, who raised me and my siblings as a single parent along with my grandmother. She was an amazing woman. She soft spoken, religious, kind, unselfish nurturing and had a special place in her heart for children, she always found a way to help anyone who needed it. My grandmother was exactly the same. My husband parents raised him and his siblings with a strong Christian background. We were married, attending church and classes regularly. We were very young and early in our marriagei, God blessed us with a home, a car, children, supportive family and friends. We took things for granted and we let life take control. We lost focus of God. Our foundation became weak. Communication became almost impossible. We stop going to church less and less. God was not pleased and all within one year I lost my job, home and my marriage, pretty much life as I knew it. We were married over 25 years, I was devastated. Even though this was many years ago, I still feel like it was yesterday. I took my children back to church. I went back to school received a degree got another job working with children. God gave me a 2nd chance. I made decisions based on what other people needed from me. I didn't listen to God's voice. I didn't follow God's path for my life. Unintentionally I was controlling my life, trying to make sure I would be prepared for anything that might happen this time. No surprises. I realize I can't prepare myself for life god is always in control. Today I sit afraid to make decisions, not wanting to make the wrong decision, somewhat doubled minded. I am truly afraid of life, especially with what's happening now. I wonder if this is my punishment. I struggle with my faults. It' miserable to feel this way. I attend virtual church & classes, read the Bible and pray for understanding.

Forgive me if I am wrong but I believe that God has things awaiting us that cannot be conceived by our mortal minds. My dear sweet Patty went to be with Jesus over a year ago. I am so empty and lost without her. God made us one flesh and I believe that that one flesh will continue throughout eternity. I know that heaven is all about worshipping our Jesus and should be but I also believe that God will reunite me and my sweet Patty and our love will continue.
