The righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees was the self perceived belief that they were obtaining right to Salvation based on conformance to Law and by merit of their Abraham ancestry.

We know this side of the Cross that this is impossible for man, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

We, in Christ have His impuded (credited) Righteousness as a Gift of His Grace.

    Have you accepted His Gift?

Blessings and Happy Father's Day all,

    Ken

Commandments. They will be an example for the rulers and leaders of the world.

    Chris,

Paul's understanding of sin and its transmission through Adam in Romans 5:12 is absolutely correct!

The beginning of sin and its transmission is in no way affected by the creation of all the races in Genesis 1:26-28, as well as the beginning of the race through Adam in Genesis 2:7; eventually becoming known as "Hebrews" (look at Genesis 40:15, Exodus 3:18, etc.)

Original sin was not transmitted through a particular bloodline, but rather through the Spirit and the Will of God.

Had Adam fulfilled his responsibility, then there would have been no need for the promise of Genesis 3:15, and we would all be living in the 3rd dispensation of time now, right here; heaven on earth. But, that did not happen, and 6000 years later we are still waiting for His second Coming.

If you want to believe that all races of humans came from Adam that is your choice. That does not affect the saving grace of Jesus Christ. I have given you Biblical reference (man, flesh, Sons of God, giants, the flood, dispensations of time) for the position I make, as well as definitions of Hebrew words for assistance and reference.

Your Biblical explanation (or lack of one) concerning HOW the other races came to be upon the earth reinforces your shaky position on such an important topic(s).

I will restate that GOD specifically refers to "nations" and "gentiles" and "heathen" and "people" as FOREIGN to the specific tribe and nation and people known as Israel. God making this distinction throughout ALL Scripture should be a big clue.

Gold does not lie in the streets and on the pathways; we have to dig a little to find it. So also is the understanding of the Word of God! ( 2Timothy 2:15)

The Bible was not written in English, it was originally written in Hebrew, Chaldean, and Greek (N.T.). A Bible Concordance is a must for every Bible student (that doesn't know Biblical Hebrew, Chaldean, and Greek).

Mishael - Paul says to the Corinthians (A city in Greece) that the church was with Moses in the wilderness.

The church did not start in Acts, it was already there under Moses.

    1 Corinthians Chapter 10: 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all OUR FATHERS our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 And were all baptized unto MOSES Moses in the cloud and in the sea; (Red Sea)

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; (Manna)

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

So was Paul the apostle to the "Gentiles" and it seems he was not speaking to Jews? After all Paul is in Greece.

    2 easy questions for you

    1. Does God love everyone? (exclude Satan) Humans only

    2. Would the Lord deceive people?

Scriptural proof only please. the answers might surprise you.

The 4th day is about the government of God upon us.the kingdom/reign of God. We are to fear God who is One and keep His commandments.

    God made 2 great lights.

God set the 2 lights in the firmament (the opened hearing ear) of Heaven. Hear, O Israel.

The greater light is the first and greatest commandment to rule the children of the Day who are to love God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength.

The second, lesser light is like the first. to love our neighbor as ourselves. When we have love for one another, all people in this dark world shall know we are His disciples ( John 13:35). We shall shine as the stars in the darkness of this world. We are to love even our enemies who hate us. In doing so, there is rule over those who are of the night in the darkness of their minds as we let God avenge us ( Romans 12:19) .

    Mark 12:29-31 KJV

    (29) And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

    (30) And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

    (31) And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

He made the stars also.as we shall shine as lights/luminaries in the darkness of this world in the doing of His 2 greatest commandments. And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.

    Philippians 2:14-16 KJV

    (14) Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

    (15) That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Holding forth the Word/Saying of Life: that God is Light.

    (16) Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

that still doesn't answer my question I ask is Mary's son in the flesh who is call Jesus is he God
  • Chris - In Reply on Ecclesiasticus 23:18 - 5 years ago
Johnson, that is correct, Jesus was born of the virgin Mary for the purpose of God's entrance into Earth's realm. Mary 'knew' no man, she was a virgin, especially chosen of God ( Lk 1:26-32) to bring forth God's Word ( Jn 1:1-14) into the World for the sole purpose to preach about God's Kingdom & to lay down His Life as a Sacrifice for all of us.

So we say that God is a Triune God, because God reveals Himself to us in His three Personages (NOT three gods): God the Father, God the Word (His Son, Jesus Christ) & God the Holy Spirit. ( 1 Jn 5:7: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one"). This is a difficult concept to understand, but it's like saying that you are composed of three parts: your body, soul & spirit; if one part is taken away, then you are incomplete & not the true complete YOU. The Sun has three parts: its substance/matter, heat & light; it wouldn't be the sun we know, if a part of it was removed. In like manner, God is perfectly God only in His three-fold personage & nothing else.

Just as Jesus came to the Earth to die for our sins & in our stead, so that all who repent & believe in Him will not go to Hell, so God's Spirit is also here now in every believer to give him/her a new spiritual birth, to empower them to live this new life, & to share this wonderful news to others so that they too can be saved & become a part of God's family.

So, Yes, Mary was especially chosen by God to bear Jesus, Whom the Prophet Isaiah spoke of in Isa 7:14: "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel". Jesus came in fulfilment of that prophecy & also read Isaiah chapter 53 and the Messianic Psalm 22, both showing His agony at the Cross.

I hope you can see that Jesus wasn't just a Prophet or just a good Man - He IS God's Son, being taken into Heaven after His Crucifixion & burial, showing our acceptance by God.

Edna, Matthew 5:20 speaks of this. The Scribes & Pharisees mentioned here were a part of the Jewish leadership who were well studied in the Law & the Prophets & generally laid down the law for the people & enforced them. The Pharisees in particular, were so meticulous in their knowledge (i.e. 'crossing every T & dotting every I'), that they also imposed their own set of rules upon the people & made the law more burdensome to them. Jesus implied this when He said: "Take MY yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light." ( Mt 11:29,30); meaning, that Jesus' commandments (from God) were not like the heavy burden & yoke imposed by the Pharisees, to which the people found unbearable.

So, these religious leaders prided themselves in their knowledge of the Law & their authority to impose it, as well as their extra laws upon the people. They also loved to be seen by others & receive the praises of the people, etc. (you can read all about it in Mt 23). Jesus, in Mt 5:20, references these ungodly traits & acts by these leaders by telling his disciples, 'don't behave like those Jewish leaders who think themselves as the epitomy of righteousness, but rather you must behave in the manner prescribed by God'.

The apostle Paul also speaks of this in Rom 10:1-5, saying that Israel (because of these leaders) 'have a zeal of God but not according to knowledge; being ignorant of God's righteousness & going about to establish their own righteousness'. And what was the difference between them? They were sticklers for the law & added their own laws as well. God's righteousness is based purely on Faith & that through Jesus Christ, whom the leaders rejected ( Rom 10:8-12). No one coming in the strength of the Law can be saved: only those coming in faith. See Heb 11 for a great list of Faith Heroes, who were commended for their faith in action (righteousness) that went far beyond the Law.

When we see the King on the cross, where is his strength?Despite pain and anguish

he has a desire in his heart. His days were never numbered and he was purposed to

accomplish God's will.A gladness of unsurpassed measure was his because he

knew the facial expression, countenance, of the Lord.Yet, it was mercy of the Father

that sustained him in his explicit trust in the Father.A trust that grows within believers,

rooted in the trust of our Lord Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.Hebrews12:2

The first church is mentioned in ACTS 2:47

    (2:40-47)

"And THE LORD added to the CHURCH daily such as should be saved."

People build big buildings with great beauty, art; sculptures, but they can be dead as a door nail without Jesus in it by the Holy Spirit.

Get a grip. The people are out in the streets now. No apathy. Everyone's turned on to a cause. The Church needs to be out in the street too! Hand out some tracts. How do we know this isn't a move of God going on right now?! We're all banished from going to church so we're hiding out in the house.

You just want to hash for days how much you can expound on churches of the past.

Guess what? It was in the news how all the ancient churches have been sold to pay Taxes, so now they are reborn as event centers, restaurants with real art. Google it! Maybe we should consider what Peter said: it's all going to burn.

Marie, Romans 9:10? Or, did you mean Romans 10:9?

Do you also have a supporting Scripture that the Gift of Tongues is a 'Heavenly language known only to God'? The Acts 2:4 account of Pentecost Day seems to indicate that the Tongues spoken was not Heavenly but Earthly & Paul's teaching on this in 1 Cor 14 was specifically to show that Tongues was an unknown (unlearned) language to the speaker but may be known to another present or to be used when one gifted with its Interpretation was present. Without an interpretation, the (unlearned) Tongue was not to be used however it could be used in prayer to God only, where "my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful" (v 14). This seems to me that apart from its use in prayer, the Tongue should only be used when someone who understands/interprets it is present.

I would be interested to learn what Scripture you know that can support what you've said.

Welcome to the family of God. Find a KJV Bible that has the center of each page columns; that reference to Old Testament scripture and prophesy: past, present and future.

The Holy Spirit was given to us by Jesus to be our Teacher. Questions you have should be asked of Him first.

Everything someone tells you should be compared to scripture. We are living in the last days and false teaching are out there. God has a plan for our lives: for good things; not evil.

Confusion and accusation is from the devil.

Proverbs 3:5-8. Trust in the Lord.

For someone who is curious about the bible, just maybe god is drawing you. for no one comes to the jesus except he is drawn of the father. so, this is curiosity that will not kill the cat, so to speak. therefore, i suggest that you start in the book of matthew and read a chapter daily, meditate or think about what has been said/written. starting in matthew and following on thru the books after, you will learn more about jesus, who he is and what he has done, ect. i will make prayers for you because i have hope for you.

I desperately pray for the United States of America. The land of milk and honey. The fertile ground where blood was shed so we can worship Jesus without retribution. A bountiful land to enjoy our God given freedom.

I pray for all to find Christ Jesus, for the strength to not submit to the inevitable beast system lurking in the shadows.

Lord, I pray for your protection from all evil, seen and unseen.

    God Bless America

God Bless the precious little time remaining.

God Bless everyone here tonight as we face the collapse of the Western world.
