I think Chris said the new KJV is a better version to get. I tried to read a NIV but gave up.
I have a real hard time "retiring old Bibles".
What do you do?
God's desire was restored cos
JESUS was Emmanuel God made flesh and now He dwell with us forever Amen.
I completely agree with you on the King James but the Living Bible is no bueno (Spanish for not bueno) My very first Bible was the Living Bible. My mother gave it to me when I was very young. I still own it but never read it. It is not even a translation. It is a paraphrase and a very poor one in my opinion. It says things like God was on the toilet, and in one place it says says "son of a b....." I could probably share with you many places in the Living Bible that might change your mind on recommending it. I just wanted to share this with you. Like I said, I do own a Living Bible and I have a lot of things marked up in it that are questionable.
Fear not. Give thanks to the Lord for He cares for you.
Satans time is short and he's doing all he can to make us unemployed, sick, scared, suicidal, addicted, sad
1 Samuel 18:4 Exchanging Armor
And Jonathan stripped himself of the ROBE that was on him and gave it to David, and his ARMOR, and even his SWORD and his BOW and his BELT.
Jesus exchanged HIS armor with US. Why?
Because we are warring against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:10-18. Read ALL those center column references to other Books. See Isaiah 24:21-22. Romans 13:1-5,11-12; John 12:31
Jesus did not leave us here to just wear a wedding garment and hold a lamp of oil.
He left us scripture that we're to do spiritual war in the heavenlies. It's about strong faith and prayer: intercession; "standing in the gap". Jesus is making intercession for us right now! People come into the prayer room with grievous problems we SHOULD BE praying & doing war for. Ephesians 6:12, Romans 8:38, Colossians 1:9, 16-17; 2:15. 1 Thessalonians 5:8
Standing in the gap is when you hold a lamb in your arms of prayer, and war against the demonic hoards that are trying to kill it; steal its life, destroy its hope in Jesus! It should make you want to save that lamb. Do you have any "lambs" in your life? Are you willing to snatch it out of the hands of Satans hoard of demons, WITH the WORD of God?
You have a wealth of Bible Knowledge but are any lambs being saved with weighty speech? Don't you want to receive a Crown at Bema Seat? What would Jesus do? He showed us in His Gospels. If we are His followers we will imitate what he was Doing.
Multitudes of people are committing suicide for unbelievable reasons. That's on Satans scoreboard. Is there anyone who will challenge that? Do you know how to take the scriptures and frighten the demons off of someone on a chair with a rope around their neck? Or a hypodermic needle going in an arm.
Parents!Pray rightly for your kids. Punch out Satan! We have permission!
We're living in the last days. It becomes more and more evident the separation of Christians by the Names of Their Religion.
Book of Mormon
Jehovah Witnesses: rewrote their Bibles to blot out "GOD" and change it to Jehovah (through the entire Bible)
The Catholic Bibles
Look at the Publishers page in the Bible before purchasing.
....... having a form of godliness, but denying THE POWER of God.
King James Version Bible has the purest translation I think. However a Living Bible is easier for adolescents and teenagers to understand at first. I have 2: both hopelessly marked up/can't read it. :/
If I'm wrong, the Holy Spirit will be by later to set me straight. :o
On YouTube search testimonies of rock musicians who are Christians now.
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
And when THEY were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Jesus commands weather. Book of Job. You can pray for favor in disasters of weather. Grow your faith.
You have also touched on something else I think is important, and that is some of these mega-ministries. 1 Peter 4:8 says "And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins."
Number one, he says and above all things. That means top priority. Have fervent charity among yourselves: And the word charity is the word Agape love. The word fervent literally means to stretch out the hand, or to extend out the hand.
So he's presenting a picture of an active love. In James Chapter 2, James says if somebody comes along and they're hungry and they need clothing, and you say "Well, I'll pray for you," what good is that? Faith without works is a dead faith. So when its hardships and when there's suffering, have an active extended love, and notice this: among yourselves.
If any of you have any knowledge of the Greek, the term among yourselves is in the Attributive Position. But the focus is supposed to be on fellow believers. Just like Jesus said, people will know you're my disciples by your love for one another.
One of the sickening things I've seen over the years is church ministries bringing in several million dollars a year for their projects to reach the uncivilized world. And that's great if that's what the Lord is leading you to do. But I notice that right around the church, there are a lot of people needing help.
But they look beyond that. They look at what looks good on the tote board. And even some people within the church are suffering and going without, and the sensitivity isn't there. Suffering creates sensitivity. Have an extended love among yourselves, for love shall cover the multitude of sins. That is from Proverbs 12:10.
Why cover a multitude of sins? Because that is what brings division and hardship within the body of Christ. We have to have an active extended love for repentance and restoration of sin. We have to deal with the sin issue in the body of Christ!
(6) And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
The "firmament" or "expanse" is a metaphor about the opening of the hearing ear and the "waters" are people ( Revelation 17:15).
The hearing of the Word of Truth from Heaven among many people divides them: the believers from the unbelievers.
Even the word for "ear" in Hebrew (ozen) means "broadness, to expand".
Job 36:10 KJV
(10) He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
God opens up our ears to His knowledge that is sent from Heaven via the Spirit. The "firmament" is called "Heaven" for what we hear is from there. Jesus said often: he that has an ear, let him hear
Revelation 3:6 KJV
(6) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The good news is reported unto us with Holy Spirit is sent down from Heaven
1 Peter 1:12 KJV
(12) Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
Jesus healed the deaf man by looking into Heaven as He opened up his ears. The "firmament" or expanse is the opening up of our ears to God's knowledge from Heaven.
Mark 7:33-34 KJV
(33) And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
(34) And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word/Saying of God who said "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." The "waters" above the Heaven believe upon what they hear while those waters under do not believe. The "firmament" is firm and supports the waters above as they believe in what they hear.
Believers do not become Sons of God till they are born of the Spirit in the New Testament. Adam was called a Son of God since he had no earthly mother and Jesus is the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God. Angels are not THE SON OF GOD, they are Sons of God.
Job 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
After all who was the FATHER of the Angels? think about it.
