Sadly, this type of behaviour has been known to happen & leads to many of the congregation leaving the Church looking for somewhere else to worship. What happened to the Elders who appointed this man to lead the fellowship? You mentioned the 'founders' of the Church, but every Bible-based Church has to have elders that govern & administer the Church's affairs. They are primarily responsible for who leads, teaches & shepherds the flock. If only the one man is the Elder cum Pastor, then the Church is subject to his direction only & is not operating as Christ intended His Church to be. Is there any possibility for the concerned members to approach the man to discuss this matter & alert him to the biblical standards? However, ultimately only God can change his attitude & direction, or else, members need to look elsewhere to worship.

In 1962 in America, one old lady athiest won her case to ban the Bible and the 10 Commandments out of public schools.

Why? people were fascinated with the space program and the upcoming moon walk.

You grew up without any reaffirmation of any public kind, Or from unchurched parents or schools. It was put upon the Church to teach 10 commandments but they were afraid of having tax exempt status taken away.

This is Gods way to have a successful life and marriage. 1 Corinthians chapter 7

1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

2 Nevertheless, to avoid FORNICATION let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence (marital relations) and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. (Don't use sex to get your own way)

5 Defraud ye not (Withhold sex) one from the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

6 But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.

7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God (celibacy) one after this manner, and another after that. (Marriage)

8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. (Abstaining)

9 But if they cannot contain (not having sexual relations) let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

In society, fornication has been made acceptable. Problem is the two become one, and after experimentation and breakups, we have all these old soul ties to other lovers, that weaken a marriage at the start. It takes prayer by the new couple to sever those ties to the past. Mutual respect keeps marriage strong.

Robert, okay I see your approach in writing this & I fully agree with what you've said. And to highlight the importance of the message, is indeed very important, though I find that one still needs to deal with the 'trees & leaves' for better understanding of that message. And this is probably where our divergent opinions become more pronounced as we grapple with those specific words; and I'm not referring to Bible translations, which you mentioned, here.

For example, I think of the endless debate on the Lord's Second Coming: indeed, it is a matter of great interest & expectation for most of us, but we all have our opinions on, for example, the 'last trump' & are convinced that what we believe is what is going to happen. I feel it is the right thing to want exposition of that phrase, but we generally won't admit that there is a possibility that we're wrong & just have to leave the matter until more Light comes our way. Yesterday, I was listening to a study on this aspect, where the teacher spoke of the Feast of Trumpets relating to the 'last trump'. He had taken pains to go through each of the Jewish Feasts, seeing each one fulfilled in Christ & the Church. So, I thought that was interesting, but should I accept that view in the light of the other interpretations offered? There must be a time when we need to step back & remain open without having guilt for not following a particular view. Blessings to you too as we together hunger more of God's Word.

Do not worship money, cars jewelry, houses, yourself nor man.god didn't accept it back then and he definitely will not accept it now.stay true to God and he will take care of you; if you disrespect him your name will be taken out of the lambs book of life. The first step to be free is to give your life and your body to Jesus Christ.

Through asking for salvation (freedom From sin and all of its escapists and destructive habits); You embrace Jesus's LIFE and give Him your life.

He will give you POWER to lay down those things you no longer want to do. He gave me strength to drive home past the liquor stores every day. Soon a week passed; then a month; soon it was a year! He had strengthened me and gave me a victory I couldn't quit shouting about! That was 35 years ago!

Allow your faith room to grow in Jesus. Ask for help with anything that troubles your soul. Pray (talk to Him every day; even all day long). I know he wants that kind of day to day communication with us.

It gets sweeter and sweeter. He doesn't want to hear thee and thou's. Just be yourself.

More than 6,000 veterans die by suicide each year, taking their own lives at a rate one-and-a-half times that of other Americans. Female veterans are at an even higher risk, with a suicide rate of more than twice that of other Americans.

From 2005 to 2016, the veteran suicide rate rose by an alarming 26 percent. In the past, these heroes were too often overlooked by our leaders, who sent our troops to fight in foreign lands without taking care of them once they returned home.

Someone please pray for our soldier.

Hire one that needs a job. Thank you

  • Jesse - In Reply on Revelation 9 - 5 years ago
    B COLE,

Revelation 9:1 tells us that when the fifth angel sounded, a star fell. In Revelation Chapter 1, we know that the stars represent angels. So a star fell from heaven. Secondly, the word fall is in the Perfect Tense. So he sees a star which has already fallen. He didn't see it as it was falling. He saw a fallen star, a star that had already fallen from out of heaven unto the earth.

And to this angel, this fallen star, was given the key to the bottomless pit. Notice that it was given to him. He did not possess it. He did not have authority over it. We know from Revelation Chapter 1 that Jesus has the keys of Hades and of death. The Lord holds all the keys to all of these places.

Now the bottomless pit is the word abyss, ABUSSO in Greek. And it is interesting because it is believed that around where Babylon used to be, and in fact, it was the place where Saddam Hussein was caught, but they believed that there is a shaft that goes down into the heart of the earth. And this shaft is closed up on the top.

And this would be the place that Peter told us about in 2 Peter Chapter 2:4, that there are angels who are reserved in chains of darkness, ready to be revealed.

And so this star who had fallen was given the key to the bottomless pit. This star is none other than Satan himself, and the creatures that will be released from this pit are going to be two-hundred million demons unleashed upon the earth.

But concerning this star who had been fallen, back in Isaiah 14:12-15, we have recorded for us the rebellion of Satan. It is called the "five I wills," where Satan said I will be like the most high, where he expressed his rebellion towards God.

And it is at that time that he lost his first domain. He lost his first position with God.

Hi Chris. Peace. I see Genesis ch 1 as a parable of the regeneration of man. Yes, I think that verses 4 and 5 have a bearing. We respond to the Light of the Father with light...that is, having fellowship with Him by the doing of His commandments. We become children of light when we have His Light within us and believe. The believers, the children of light, are the children of the Day (God called the light "Day"). As Jesus said...

    John 12:36 KJV

    (36) While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

Verses 14 and 15 have to do with His government....the 2 greatest commandments.

Yes, Bob, that is correct. Jesus died for you. He died also for me. Guess who else He died for? He died for those Jews that Paul mentions in 1 Thess. Chapter 2. I am not going to place any blame on the Jews. You seem as though you have a strong dislike for the Jews for killing Jesus. This is just something I sense, but I could be wrong. It was no surprise to Jesus that He was going to die on the cross. It was no surprise to Him that the Jews would do what they did.

In all honesty, even though He died on the cross, I don't think anyone could have killed Him. Jesus gave Himself freely to the cross for which He came for. They couldn't have taken Him no matter how many people with clubs and swords came to do it. We see that in scripture when the huge crowd armed with swords and clubs came to take Him, and with just His voice, Jesus blew them all over, twice!

My whole point is that Jesus came here for a reason. He came to die our death because of your sin, my sin, and the sins of the entire world, including the Jews! So to try and place the blame solely on the Jews for killing Him, I can't do that when I am just as guilty of sin, and just as guilty of His death as they were. That's why I say I also killed Him. Maybe you won't agree with me when I say this, but I also died with Him!

Pilate did release Jesus. He just released the wrong Jesus!

    Thanks for your input Chris.

I was definitely not disputing the validity of God or Jesus. What I was attempting to point out is the attempt of people to claim this is a manifestation of God or Jesus when the Bible does not say one way or another.

As for the intention of translations, I was attempting to point out that people seem to lose sight of the forest looking at the trees. It doesn't matter what a single verse says (tree); much less a word (leaf or branch). What matters is the message or context.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Each path to Discipleship is between the Holy Spirit and the person. In the end we all will be judged on our personal beliefs and choices (free will).

As the Israelites, we all need to question, Are we worshipping God His way, or our way? In my opinion, the Bible should translate and interpret itself.

Also prayer, conversation, study, devotionals, history, reflection and always keeping the scriptures in your mind assist you on your journey with the creator.

    Blessings.
