If you are studying and following God's Word don't be surprised when the devil fights. 1 Peter 4:12 says "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you."

If you're children are grown you cannot change them but you can pray for them and try to counsel them using Scripture. If they're still in the home get in the Word together and deal with the issues that you are facing. Finally, I would ask you a question that I ask myself daily. What are you focused on? If you're focused on worldly things (a husband, money, career, etc) that God doesn't want you focused on it will make things hard. If you focus on him then you'll be able to rejoice no matter what.

In response to your comment concerning Genesis 1:3.

The "Light" of Genesis 1:3 is the Hebrew word "owr" meaning; to be or to make luminous. This Light is is the Light of the Father Himself.

The "luminary" created by God on the 4th day in Genesis 1:14-19 is the Hebrew word "maowr," a derivative of the primary word given in Genesis 1:3, and simply means a light, or a luminous body.

Steve, I've never imagined that Deut 23:18 referred to the trafficking of dogs for profit. Did they even do such a thing in those days? What would have been the demand for dogs at that time? I've always thought of this verse to apply to the preceding verse, in reference to the Sodomites, where both the harlot & male prostitute were great abominations to the Lord. But I do agree, that our furry friends can be the most loving & faithful companions around.

You've shared some great Truths there. Though some would gasp at your phrase: "we are only two thirds saved at the moment". I understand perfectly what you mean, & you are correct, though I've never heard it said this way before. You are of course referring to Rom 8:23, 'that we groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, that is, the redemption of our body'. The work of the Cross has fully completed our spiritual redemption & we wait now for that remaining work to be completed in our bodily redemption. Thanks for that blessed reminder.

King of kings & Lord of lords are of course terms given generally to Jesus to signify that there is none greater than any earthly king, whether real or imagined. And a clear claim to His Deity is also seen in these words.

Robert, I agree, that these occurrences in the Bible can be a little perplexing, as generally we understand that God's Throne is in Heaven, Jesus (post resurrection) is at the Father's right Hand ( Heb 10:12) & the Holy Spirit has come to Earth in Jesus' stead ( Jn 14:26, 16:7-11).

Yet, you state: "I am often puzzled by the need of the last few generations to make all angels Jesus." I think you are referring to a 'Theophany', as in Gen 18:1-3, 32:24ff, or a 'Christophany', as in Judg 6:11-24, 2 Ki 19:35. There are of course, many other references to such manifestations. As well, one has to also understand the nature & work of Angels. My own sense is that if a person cannot in all good conscience discern the evidence for God or the Word, (Jesus, pre-incarnate) manifesting Themselves to man, or whether they were in fact Angels representing the God-Head, then no wrong judgement has been committed. The evidence one way or the other is not entirely clear & one cannot raise qualified objections to someone's different opinion. The fact that God did speak to men in such a manner is clear, but how & why He chose to bring His Word or His Presence to the view of man, remains unclear.

"What would be the purpose of 10 thousand angels if all they did was sing songs?" I don't believe that the entire host in Heaven are only there to 'sing songs'. Of course, there appears to be constant worship to God & singing of His Praises, but there are also a multitude of tasks that angels perform: Heb 1:13,14, "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" So, they are also sent out to minister in a myriad of ways. You can find them in the Bible, ministering to physical needs, for protection, for encouragement, in regards to children, giving of the Law, directing lives, at the Second Coming of Christ, etc. So, they are busy about the Lord's business & not idling away their time.

The tribulation period is a seven year period. To be more technical, the entire seven year period is known as the tribulation period, and the last 3 1/2 years is known as the Great Tribulation.

This last 3 1/2 years would be the time of Jacob's trouble as spoken of in Jeremiah 30:7. We see at the end of Verse 7 that it says "but he shall be saved out of it." This is referring to Judah and Israel. They will be spared from those last 3 1/2 years. These will be the 144,000 Jews who are told to flee into the mountains, probably the rock city of Petra. God will keep them from being harmed.

Out of curiosity, I looked up this Tomas Torquemada that you told me about. I guess what drew my curiosity was how he was born of a Jewish family with the last name Torquemada.

What I found was that he was born in Castile Spain, and his parents names were Pedro Fernandez de Torquemada, and Mencia Ortega.

Those names don't sound Jewish so I was hoping you might be able to share with me the names of the Jewish family you say he was born of. Thank you for your time.

We Christian, hear lots of false information that may or may not seem pleasing to our on appetite. That does not mean we are to forsake the word of god. What keep me sane is knowing that if I mess up, it could be my last time, to repent ,pray and turn from my wicked ways.

And that brings up the second objection of translations of a particular word (ie: I am or Jehovah). The Bible is to be taken in faith. Not absolutes. The answers to all questions are not included. However, do you choose to follow God (in faith); or believe in other forms of worship is (Satan, delusions, false prophets, traditions, etc.)

I am not trying to be offensive or claim I know better than anyone else. I seek God's will and to become a Disciple of Christ through the Holy Spirit. I am just trying to test all things and prove them.

It's not "If the bible is right," because the bible is right. It's our human understanding that is flawed. We study the same bible Bob, but when we come to a different understanding of the text, it's always the other person that is in error. Why is that? Can you please answer that one?

Yes, Pilate tried to release Jesus. In fact, he tried to release two people named Jesus at the same time. If you are questioning whether or not I believe the bible is true, I can assure you that I do. A study of church history would show that the papacy (Vatican) was responsible for putting to death many Christians, so I am not placing blame where blame is not due.

Yes, the man of sin will rule from the temple in Jerusalem once he takes over and demands that people worship him, but we're not told where he comes from. Not all Jews deny Jesus as you claim. That is false.



One thing is for certain, in the end when all the armies gather in the Valley of Megiddo to wipe out the nation of Israel, Christ Himself who will come with His armies, His bride, the church, He will destroy those armies. Israel is under God's powerful protection.

Yeshua was used as a title for Jesus long before the King James Bible was written. Jesus is an English transliteration that comes from Yeshua. So whether He is called Yeshua or Jesus, they both have the same meaning, the Lord is salvation. So if someone says Yeshua, they are not denying the King James at all. If I make an absurd claim like "Mary being impregnated by a Roman soldier," by all means, please do correct me!

You say "Maybe we should be happy to be corrected with the Bible?" I agree with that. You've said some things in the past that have contradicted scripture, but I don't sense that you would be too "happy to be corrected" if I were to point those things out to you so I'll just leave it at that!

Let us not forget that although the Lord has forgiven us of our sins and imputed His righteousness to us, we will still struggle with sin in this pice of flesh that we have.

We are only two thirds saved at the moment, our soul and spirit, however our salvation will be complete when the Lord catches us up and redeems His purchased possession.

We must always do our best to fight against sin though, salvation shows a changed life.
