  • Adam - In Reply on Psalms 127 - 6 years ago
None of the books originally had chapters or verses or pages or were bound together as one book. These exist as a convenience to aid in sharing the gospel, reading together, and sharing specific scripture. If you think it's wrong and want an authentic experience you can remove it all and handwrite it yourself on a series of scrolls, but even then it wouldn't be as authentic as if it were in Hebrew and Greek. Then again, it wouldn't be as authentic as if you were actually living in Jerusalem familiar with the names and places in the time Jesus lived. So, people are welcome to criticize the Bible, but should know that even today in its form it is still God's inspired Word and the message of hope for us is the same.

I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

    5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

    Thank you Lord!

The rod? Have you heard a saying that goes "spare the rod, spoil the child" chastisement
The staff? That was used as a comfort.. so to speak. Before the Bible was in existence
To dwell in the house of the Lord?
As a Christian, we are not perfect, we fall short daily, many times daily. We should live a Christian life, if ya know it's wrong, don't do it. Be ye a separate people. Do not be conformed to the world. Live your life as God was right there with you every second of the day. And pray ask for forgiveness when you mess up.. nobody can walk your walk but you. 😁

God told the nation of Israel not to eat blood of animals. They didn't have air conditioning so there was danger of food illness. He said "the life is in the blood".
There may be more but this is all that comes to mind. In the case of transplants and emergency transfusions I think your faith in God is what you need. The deeper your walk with God, the stronger your faith in outcomes. I wouldn't mind if my church prayed & laid on hands. Hope this helped.

What does the Bible say about worldly virus's that are deadly and an Epeidemic world wide?
  • Mickey on Genesis 1 - 6 years ago
God did not create Corona Virus. Jesus spoke in Matthew 24:7 about pestilences ( plural), earthquakes, wars, rumors of wars in divers places. Revelation speaks of the oceans dying. It's prophetic. We are to be aware of the signs of the times. Start witnessing as the Spirit leads. You gotta be available first. President Trump is in contact with several American churches. Blessed is the nation that blesses Israel. Not many politicians or candidates have spoken favorably about Israel. If we don't believe that..we're in for a rough ride my friends.
God's will is not the only will at work in the world. Satan has a will. He causes many bad things. He still thinks he can defeat Jesus.

  • Stephanie - In Reply on Philippians 4 - 6 years ago
My friend, come now, let us reason together, saith the Lord. For God is not willing that any should perish, Matthew 18:11, John 3:16 Of his Son it is said the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised," "To preach the acceptable year of the Lord." The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9; Luke 4:18
  • Stephanie - In Reply on Philippians 4 - 6 years ago
Repentance must be exercised toward God, because we have all sinned, broken his righteous law, violated the rule of his government, and brought discord into his harmony. We must exercise faith toward Jesus Christ because he has become our sacrifice and surety. He has died that we might have remission of sins that are past," and obtain grace and help so that we may keep the commandments of the Lord our God. 1 John 3:4; Matt 5:19
  • Stephanie - In Reply on Philippians 4 - 6 years ago
The commandments of God are comprehensive and far reaching; in a few words they unfold the whole duty of man. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength..Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Mark 12:30, 31. In these words the length and breadth, the depth and height, of the law of God is comprehended; for Paul declares, Love is the fulfilling of the law" Romans 13:10. The only definition we find in the Bible for sin is that "sin is the transgression of the law 1 John 3:4. The Word of God declares, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23. There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

  • Adam - In Reply on Philippians 4 - 6 years ago
    Hi David,

    >Why do I need to be forgiven? For what?!

Have you ever made a mistake in your life and broke one of the 10 commandments? Have you ever once lied, stolen, dishonored your parents, coveted something, committed adultery, etc? If so, you've violated moral law and the punishment for sinning against God is death ( Romans 6:23). Have you ever violated the laws of your city, state, county and had to appear before a judge? Did you accuse the judge of being wrong for punishing you, or did you realize maybe you were the one wrong? What if the judge found you guilty, but instead of you getting the punishment he took it himself for you? That's what Jesus did for you.

Greeks gave us the new testament Bible, not rome. Rome often killed those who tried to have the scriptures in their own language. David Orren you do not know what you are writing about. The new testament was written in Greek, not Latin.
Do the names of william tyndale, and John Huss ring a bell.

I've read and re-read Psalm 91 and I must say this TRULY is the way the COVID 19 is affecting the ENTIRE WORLD.
We, as Christians believe this, and are willing to put it out there for the world to see and understand.
With God protecting us, who can be against us...
We WILL continue as God wants us to, but only by His Grace shall we endure this pandemic.
I pray that this will humble many people to give their lives to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
For without Chist in my own life I AM NOTHING !!!!!
Brothers and Sisters in Christ ,, please continue praying for one another.
But MOSTLY pray for the lost souls that they may be receptive of the TRUE WORDS in The Holy Bible.
    God Bless

As far as burden carrying: there is an escape to burdens. Jesus said to cast those upon Him.
Read these following scriptures. It's going to help you. Did you know worry is sin? Run to 1 John chapter 1 verses 8-9; 2:1

Here's the burden scriptures: Matthew 11:28-29. Psalms 62:8. Philippians 4:6 and Galatians 6:5

I found this to be true that when we are in extreme crushed mode, it's time to fast and pray. Fast from fun and feed on the Word of God. It's more painful than you think. Turn off all media. Emergency calls only. Read the New Testament. Get a pencil and mark some verses that give you peace. Repent as needed. In Church they say fast from food, Feed on the Word of God.

If you are thinking of marrying a divorced woman, you need to study these verses. Ask the Holy Spirit to read with you.
Matthew chapter 5, chapter 19:1-9; Mark ch 10:2-12; Luke 16-18.
I think it would be good to go to your Pastor and be counciled on remarriage. We are not under the law. Just civil laws.
I know that we are not to stay in a marriage where someone brutalizes their mate physically. We are called to be at peace.

I am asking for prayers for my son, Jayson. He has just been diagnosed with Aggressive Frontotemporal Degeneration, a horrible disease that attacks the part of the brain controlling speech, recognition, motor skills and eventually the ability to even swallow. This disease attacks its victims ages 45-65. My son is 43 and has a daughter who just turned 7 this month. There is no cure, there is no treatment, it is an agonizing death sentence. The only hope for healing is God.

He was saved and baptized when he was 12, but his life choices the past many years have not been good and I fear for his salvation. I'm asking for prayer for the Holy Spirit to draw him back to Himself and for healing.

Isaiah 59:2 - God does not hear ONLY the prayers of the wicked. Luke 5:32 and Rev 3:19 - The repentive heart of the sinner, the one whom falls short, the LORD will hear. Phillipians 4:6 - Be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be known unto God.
