You have used the scripture well. Our flesh and the world, always tries and quell the spirit of God that lives within us. The love that we so dearly need is His spirit. We deceive ourselves when we live outside His spirit that is in Christ! The holy spirit uses the word charity, because it is the mobility , or the transfer, of so great love! It is no longer just noise! It is a living word.

You keep it up. The world needs Christians who won't give up and who will stand in the days of trial. The days of trial are coming.

I don't think that way. The Bible is not guilty of confusing or getting people off balance.

This is Daniels age of information: Daniel 12:9-10. It is a mystery that is opening, NOW.

I am not lecturing anyone specifically, ok? Most hindrances to Bible Study is NOT asking the Holy Spirit to HELP you to find your answers.

I'm old, lol. I study every day. If it's a disease, I have it. It's personally rewarding and captivates me to dig even deeper to get at some truth. You need Bibles with study reference columns in the center of each page; you need a concordance; you need skill at Googling: Commentaries, History, Teachings, Maps and Genealogy Charts. I use everything.

I watch very little TV. When it's quiet, I hear the leadings of the Holy Spirit much clearer. He is the most interesting Person I've ever known.

You have many good questions. You're being called to Joel 2:28-29, 1 Corinthians 12. Galatians 3:25-28. You're blessed so keep studying, but remember to encourage yourself in Jesus. Sit in the sun, listen to some praise music, contemplate the weather that God moves around (Job). Smile at one person.

In the 4 Gospels, 4 men, different occupations came to listen to Jesus. Jesus invited them to follow him. There's a prophesy in Psalms about Judas; who would betray Jesus. Mary Magdalene and other women who cooked & washed robes, etc, followed Jesus. Paul who was never married , had women that helped with various things. Thats where Googling skills come into play. Read a historians comments too.

Jesus was a story teller which is something I love too. You have to know a story to tell it to the unsaved. My friends, we are ALL called to do the work of an evangelist. Some call it gift of gab, but I call it sharing a story, in the power of the Holy Spirit that brings the message of Christ to a heart ready to be planted by Gods Word. Plant, Water or reap harvest. ( Matthew 10:27)

A love gift to you: Malachi 3:16-18

I think one day we will know all or capable of knowing all, we have been given an ernest of the spirit, 1st corinthians 13:9-12 says for now we know in part, and we prophesy in part. but when that which is perfect come that which is in part shall be done away. when i was a child, i spake as a child, i understood as a child, i thought as a child: but when i became a man, i put away childish things. for now we see through a glass, darkley; but then face to face: now i know in part; but then shall i know even as also i am known. i think god has equipt us enough in his word for this time down here on earth... and i dont think we loose any part of the stories in the bible with the different translations, god has spreaded his main msg precept upon precept, line upon line, a little here and a little there, you can tare a page out, over all it wouldnt change its main theme. the msg is intergrated, as we read with faith the holyspirit guide us to all truth.

I believe, that a yearning heart to know the power of God, the Love of Jesus Christ is what the Lord wants from us. This is, what faith is! "To know Him is to love him". Sacrifice of yourself, the giving of yourself to him. Jesus says we are to be like children! Sometimes hard to do. I wonder if one can ever really no Him as he is! Could ever give that much of yourself. Luther spoke of these things, and always reaffirmed, salvation is without the works of the law! But, we are saved by His grace! Loving Him.

I doubt if it was ever God's intention to have all aspects of history, both personal & political history, be revealed in His Holy Word. What He has provided for us is for a reason & for a season, so the things that are revealed may be useful for our knowledge & manner of living here on Earth. We would certainly love to know much more, as you say, to fill in the "gaps", but that is not required for now. There is also a certain exercise of trust & expectancy that comes when we simply have to admit that we don't have all the answers to our questions, but that God has & His only expectation of us is that we learn & live according to His revealed Word. He won't accuse anyone for ignorance when the Word doesn't reveal more information to us, but we stand before Him if we fail to obey what He has asked of us. And I believe there's plenty in the Word of God for us to learn from, revise in our hearts & fulfil in our lives.

And besides, is it even possible that everything be written about biblical people, places & events? Just of Jesus' Life, we read in John 21:25, "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written." How our hearts & minds yearn to know more about our Lord & Saviour, yet that earnest waiting & expectation can only grow in us as we await that great day when faith becomes sight & we behold the One Whom we love, but Who first loved us by giving us of Himself completely. The spirit of Word tells me that as we long to see Him & be with Him, is also Jesus' longing for His blood-bought bride to be at His Side throughout eternity. Let's not focus on what we might be missing out from the Word's 'limited history' revealed to us, but to delight in what God has chosen to show us now for our benefit, that also instils excitement of what is to come later, both in knowledge & experience.

    Wesley's Notes: 2 Thessalonians 2:9

    >2:7 He will surely be revealed; for the mystery: The deep, secret power of iniquity, just OPPOSITE to the power of godliness, already worketh. It began with the love of honour, and the desire of power; and is completed in the ENTIRE SUBVERSION of the gospel of Christ. This mystery of iniquity is not wholly confined to the Rome-ish church, but extends itself to others also. It seems to consist of, Human interpretation ADDED TO THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD.

*Pause here and read Revelation 22:18-21

Mere outside performances put in the room of faith and love (works). The two last branches (Jews, Gentiles) are the direct consequences of the former; namely, the adding to the word of God. Already at work In the church. Only he that restraineth - That is, the potentate who successively has Rome in his power.

2:8 And then, when every prince and power that restrains is taken away (the Holy Spirit), will that wicked one (Antichrist) be revealed. Whom the Lord will soon consume with the spirit of his mouth - His immediate power. And destroy - With the very first appearance of Jesus in his glory.

2:10 Because they received not the LOVE of the truth; Therefore God suffered them to fall into that STRONG DELUSION.

2:11 Therefore God shall send them ; That is, judicially permit to come upon them, strong delusion.

All we are told in Revelation chapter 19, is that a voice spoke from the (midst) of God's Throne (verse 5). This was not God's Voice nor His Son's, but apparently an angel assigned in regards to the Holiness of God. Elsewhere, as in the Ark of the Covenant, two images of Cherubs were positioned on either side of the Ark. So, it could be assumed that a Cherub or angel from God's Throne spoke to John. Also, we see in Revelation 22:8,9, a similar event, where John began to fall down before the "angel" but was forbidden to do so.

As to Revelation 19:16, there can be no certainty as to where & why this inscription was placed there. A reasonable explanation could be that as the Lord Jesus, the Lord of Glory is seen coming as a horseman, outfitted for battle, his outer clothing (vesture) may have been an extended, fairly heavy tunic that was normally worn. This vesture had His Name inscribed on it & it was written on the tunic at about thigh level. It was common for notable persons (kings, warriors, etc.) from olden days to have their titles inscribed on their clothing & this might be seen of the coming Warrior King in the skies. But all this is only a supposition.
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 22:21 - 4 years ago
The word 'Amen' literally means, "so be it". When a Christian prays to the Father with praise & requests, he does so asking in the Name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus' Name that we can approach God's Throne & it's only in Jesus' Name that God hears & answers prayer. So when we ask according to His Will, in the Name of Jesus, we say 'Amen' signifying that we are truly convinced & burdened about what we've asked for & are assured that God will hear & answer our prayer according to His Will & in His Time. So saying 'Amen' is not just a nice ending to prayer but our affirmation before God.

    Thank you, Richard.

I choose to stand on what is stated in Revelation 22:18-19. Most arguments seem to come from not accepting what has been written down: genealogy proofs that God has faithfully recorded. I think God knew people would try to twist the Genealogies to suit their false teaching.

    There is our proof.

I hope you know that most of us know the Book of Genesis, also. Much of what you posted is unscriptural.

If you read it at a snails speed, you might see your errors.

Your allegations about Eve having sex with anyone other than her husband (whom to God performed the first marriage), Is also unscriptural. Try reading all of the Geneologies. Cain is recorded as Adams firstborn.

    Isaiah 14:12-16 (description of satan)

11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. (Suit of worms)

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I WILL ascend into heaven, I WILL exalt my throne above the stars of God: I WILL sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I WILL ascend above the heights of the clouds; I WILL be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

    16 THEY THAT SEE THEE shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man (devil) that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

No offense intended, but I find your fixation on nakedness, wantoness, adultery and covering sex organs, shocking.

The entire Bible is about Jesus: Genesis to the last verse in Revelation. In fact, Revelation 22:18-19, tells us NOT TO ADD TO or, TO TAKE AWAY FROM, anything written in the Bible. To persist will get your part taken out of the Book of Life.

    I'll end with this scripture:

    Acts 19:15

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ( Isaiah 1:18)

If you sincerely put your trust in Jesus Christ knowing that he, being the sinless Son of God, laid his life down to pay for our sins, was crucified, dead and buried, and then raised from the dead, you will be saved and fully forgiven.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. ( Psalm 103:10-12)

But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. ( Acts 13:37-39)

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. ( Romans 3:23-26)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ( 1 John 1:9)

You cannot twist the Word, to suit your perceptions. Revelation 22:18-19

Search Kings, Chronicles, Psalms and you'll not see the name of Jesus. David perceived the promise of the Savior.

Isaiah 6: he SAW the Lord. "Saw" is a vision sent from God. His first thought was of his unclean lips.

He was Hearing from the Godhead: verse 8.

"US". That is all 3 persons together, speaking, what his message was.

He, The Father, sent His Word (Jesus) and Healed (action, the Holy Spirit) them. 'Them' is always humankind.

    Reverend:

What you believe is your perception. It's not Scripture. To teach it to babies and lambs is responsibility you do not want to pay. Write a Book. Don't touch the little ones.

Romans 16:17-18 - Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 2 John 1:9 - Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth NOT in the doctrine of Christ, HATH NOT God. He that ABIDES in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. Romans 16:18 - For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Further comment: to the body of Christ: you have the responsibility to search out in the Bible Yourself, what is truth and what is Not Truth. Start in Romans.

Oh...so maybe we should rewrite the Book of Revelation and DELETE that scripture? So you can satisfy your desire to be right.

    Revelation 22:18-19

    18. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall ADD unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

    19. And if any man shall TAKE AWAY from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the BOOK OF LIFE, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Comment by Mishael: if people would READ the Book of Revelation,

They might not post comments that are NOT word for word, what is stated in the Bible. (Word of God)

One scripture does not cancel out other scriptures.

    2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Your comment is appreciated Hugo. Indeed, the Church has been blessed with many gifted with abilities from God. And prophecy was one of them. Some would argue the prophetical content of those so gifted: are they establishing the published prophecies in the Word, or are they proclaiming something added to existing prophecies, or even something totally new as some have been prophesying on future events from present news. To this, I am very concerned & of course, the truth of the prophecy can be verified by its outcome: Deuteronomy 18:20-22.

The Bible, in totality, is God's Word, past, present & future, to mankind. Prophets in the past have received God's Word directly to them which they have faithfully passed on. Others such as the apostles, in the new Church age, took up those prophecies & shed further light on them as they were led of the Spirit. Sometimes, they declared a 'mystery', something which was not revealed or clearly seen before (e.g. Romans 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:51, 2 Thessalonians 2:7, & others). And the union of believing Jew & Gentile in Christ's Church is seen today in full measure.

In the Church now, which has the whole counsel of God in the Word & by His Spirit, any prophetical utterance has to be seen & tested by what has already been revealed. The fear that I expressed concerns the volume of cults & other God-centric religions that proclaim & prophesy matters that are not in the Bible, even anti-biblical & anti-Christian in content. And we also have a plethora of those who want to tingle our ears with something new so that we might be drawn to their 'prophecies or delusions', even donating money to keep their ministry going & our accepting them as fact rather than seeing them as 'an opinion', yet to be verified. Where is that "one prophet" of God out of a 1000 false ones that will make our hearts & spirits burn with joy & hope, rather than tingle our ears with nonsense? Blessings & peace on you too brother.

    God bless you brother Chris

You speak devoutly but we must not throw out the baby with the bathwater. Ephesians 4:11 clearly tells us that there are still prophets in the Church age. There may be 1,000 false prophets, but there will also be 1 who truly has received the office of being a prophet from Almighty God.

Let us get the Holy Spirit and then we can not be deceived.

The warning in Revelation 22:18,19 is specifically to the prophecies of the Book of the Revelation given to John. However, the warning is relevant in regard to any extra-biblical treatment to any of the other books of the Bible.

It comes to us as a solemn warning that up to this point (i.e. the final revelation in the Bible), Jesus has only given this much news of the Church present & that which is to come upon it & the World. Many attempt to add more to it by way of special revelation, or as supposed prophets coming after the close of this Book. Their prophecies are false & their adherents usually have to reject the Bible in part or whole & cling onto the proclamations of their prophet as the final word 'from God'. We can think of Islam & the cults & a myriad of religions that have given their own versions of the present & future, that ultimately will fail as they are in direct conflict with the revelation from Heaven. These verses truly come to all of us as solemn warnings.

    Wesley's Notes for Revelation 2:19

2:19 I know thy love - How different a character is this from that of the angel of the church at Ephesus! The latter could not bear the wicked, and hated the works of the Nicolaitans; but had left his first love and first works. The former retained his first love, and had more and more works, but did bear the wicked, did not withstand them with becoming vehemence. Mixed characters both; yet the latter, not the former, is reproved for his fall, and commanded to repent. And faith, and thy service, and patience - Love is shown, exercised, and improved by serving God and our neighbour; so is faith by patience and good works.

    Excellent question .

We need to be very careful we are not changing the truth of scriptures, any time . Always confess your errors to the lord , we all make them , the truth will set us free from the errors .

    Deuteronomy 4. 2

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you , neither shall ye diminish ought from it , that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your GOD which I command you .
