Actually in Genesis 4 is the account of Cain killing Abel. Cain was cursed and marked for death.

When Seth was born, the genealogy restarted again. His was the seed that Jesus would be born through.

All genealogy follows the bloodline of Jesus.

Mary and Joseph were remote cousins from the bloodline of King David.

Daughters were only included in the genealogy of the bloodline of Jesus if they were in that line.

What does all this mean to us? God keeps record of all humans and children conceived to them. We're on His radar so-to-speak.

It is May 2020, 3rd month of COVID-19 Pandemic. The verse says we will have tribulation. This event is no surprise to Him. We must remain in Him! But even during these times we can have peace and be of good cheer. Because Jesus has overcome!

Barbara: Prepare before witnessing. Pray to the Lord of the Harvest; to send people your way that are ready to hear & seeking God.

Ask them if they've ever told a lie; stolen something (like a pen or sticky notes from work)?

Ever wanted the house or a car of the neighbors?

Ten Commandments things. See if they will admit to being a liar or thief.

Then tell them if they've even broke one of those commandments, they are guilty of all 10.

Ask them if they believe Jesus is the Son of God. He was born through a virgin. He lived a sinless life. He was crucified for the sins of the whole world; That he rose back to life on the 3rd day; he was seen by 500 people after resurrection; that he returned To heaven to sit at Gods right hand and make intercession for all saints.

Yep. I expect you to look up those scriptures.

Study to show yourself approved. A workman that doesn't need to be ashamed.

If you're prayed up; studied up, you'll have more success. Jesus wants us to follow Him. That means being ready to share what you know & what you have believed.

Invite the newborns to attend at your Church. They need to tell someone that they got saved! And to receive the Holy Spirit by corporate prayer.

You will have much success; and receive a soul winners crown. :D

Never be discouraged. Ask God to rain on every seed you've planted. Pray lots & lots.

    Chris,

I am in complete agreement with everything you said. I would just like to piggyback on your comments if I may. This is just something that I was taught.

Jesus says, nobody puts a new cloth on old garments. The ladies here probably already know that. Once it is washed, the new cloth is going to shrink and it is going to pull away. You don't put new cloth, unwashed cloth, on old garments.

Neither do you put new wine into old skins. The word bottle is the word skins. What would happen is that if you have new wineskins, and you have fresh wine and you put it in, as the wine expands, the skins expand. And then when the wine is fermented and the skins harden, that is it.

Now if you turn around and put new wine in those old wineskins, and the wine starts to expand, it is going to break the skins. You got to put new wine in new wineskins, not old wineskins.

So what Jesus is saying to them is you don't put the Holy Spirit into old religious people, they will break. With Jesus it is "Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be broken!" (My own personal paraphrase/not biblical). If you are governed by the law, you won't make it. New life in new wineskins, and new cloth on new garments, the other two don't mix.

If the fig tree that Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24 represents the nation of Israel, then the rapture might take place within our lifetimes.

Minnie Evans, That is a good question. Here is what I know. God didn't choose the Jews. He created them, Isaiah 43:1. So, why are they called the Chosen People? What were they chosen for? Better yet, what did God create Israel for? Was there a purpose? I would like to hear opinions on this.

Generally, Christians have argued against Hypnosis because:

    1. It isn't reliable

    2. There is a fear it might be associated with spiritual mysteries that make us vulnerable

    3. It weakens your spiritual defenses and allows an external force to control your mind

However, done in the proper clinical setting, by a trained Psychiatrist, it becomes another tool in the arsenal of medical treatments. I wonder if there is just a lot of superstition associated with it. But as Christians, I don't think we have to be afraid of it. There are many mind altering drugs we have to take for various ailments, but when done right, in a controlled medical setting, they should be safe. That is not to say we should just take anything and everything someone prescribes. But from my perspective, Hypnosis has its place in medical science.

Ann Hering, The Bible is clear. See Matthew 24:29. There are differences of opinion on when Christ will return and if there will be an appearing before the coming. But the Scriptures are specific. See 2 Timothy 2. Perhaps you are right and we will be taken away before what Christ calls the Great Tribulation. That would be very nice, but it is unrealistic. Not only that, it is not Biblical.

If you take everything that is said about the Rapture and the 2nd Coming and separate them, which the Bible does not do, you are left with the same thing. Everything that is said about the Rapture falls in line with what is said about the Coming. If we say Paul distinguishes between these two events, we would contradict what he says.

    1. The Bible never says the Rapture is before the Tribulation.

    2. The Bible says that Christ said the Rapture is Immediately After the Tribulation.

    3. The same events are attached to both (Trumpets, Clouds, Gathering, In the Air, Angels, Thief in the Night).

Where does the Bible contradict the words of Christ in Matthew 24:29?

Where does the Bible specifically say the Rapture is before the Tribulation?

But what is the real significance of what Christ and Paul said? Why is it important for Christians to know the truth about when the Rapture will take place?

I think I know the arguments, but if you list them, we can all discuss them one by one.

If Cain and Abel are the first two sons born to Adam, then why does Adam's genealogy begin with Seth? Last I checked, a person is not blotted out of his or her genealogy for being a murderer or for being murdered.

    1. John the Baptist broke into a situation and took over -

    like robbing a bank.

    2. An inmate cleverly breaks through security - escapes -

    and is out of prison.

    3. From the 1920's to 1960's someone came to Hollywood -

broke through the difficulties - and became the owner of a

studio - such as Warner Brother's or Paramount - or just

    became Elvis or the Beatles.

    4. With your faith - break through your limitations -

break into heaven - and possess its treasures and blessings.

    5. Look beyond your difficulties. See heaven. Be in it.

Walk as if you own it.

Russell Rose on Hebrews 13:17. In Titus 3:1 and Romans 13:1 we are told to be good citizens. However, that doesn't mean we have to tolerate tyranny. God has given us the ability to govern. In the US, for example, men, guided by God and Biblical principles, put that ability to work and developed the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. As long as the people in charge of government implement its precepts properly, we ought to form a part of it, support the government and work to improve it.

However, when governments, and that also applies to churches and other organizations, depart from those principles, it is up to us to point it out, speak up and rectify it. See Nehemiah 9:27 and Esther 4:14. Christ worked within the established Roman and religious rules in Israel. However, He also pointed out the contradictions that existed within the religious order of the Jews. Christ wasn't a revolutionary, because He came with a Mission. His Mission was not Social Reform. His Mission was the total defeat and annihilation of death, corruption, evil, pain, suffering and idolatry (exalting other things in place of God).

Another rescue creature I've been caring for is out of reach. Took the baby/fledgling house finch out yesterday-Memorial Day with Sister Bunny to local university campus to give them some space on the grass, and I got up from the grass causing baby bird to take flight upwards to a tree branch. She then went higher, when I tried to shake the branch, and I couldn't get her to come down. She spent all night in that spot. I went at 5:30 am and after a long time she came to a lower branch then went back to another higher branch. She has difficulty landing. She can take off, and perch, but she cannot fly downwards/land yet. So, she's stuck on the tree, starving. She needs to eat every 2/3 hours. I lost Brother Bunny on Easter, and on every holiday for a few years now I only have harrassment, some trouble to upset my balance. I'm usually on my own, so the rescued animals are my "family". In 2012 on Sukkot, I lost my 2nd bunny, was assaulted by a guy riding his bicycle who got off to "help" get my bunny. I came through by praying aloud in tongues, and was unharmed other than a wack on my head, trauma & terror at night, which I later broke and took back my ground where this happened. My bunny and I used to go there almost every day for over a year and a half, and that was a happy place for us. The spot where this happened is now a 55+ community building, and a sister in Christ who I met in 2017 now resides in her apartment right above that spot. God is glorious in the way he answers the prayers of the faithful. I have not been able to pray for myself for a very long time, so the prayers of the saints are my life support.

    Reply to Matther ch. 1

The lineage found in Matthew ch. 1 is the lineage of Joseph, "the husband of Mary" ( Matt. 1:16). Joseph's father is "Jacob" ( Matt. 1:15, 16). This lineage was established (among other things) to show the regal or king line from which Jesus Christ would come. This line runs from Abraham, through king "Solomon" and ends at Christ, through Joseph, the husband of Mary. The lineage found in Luke ch. 3 is of Mary. The father of Mary was "Heli" ( Luke 3:23). Jesus was "as was supposed" ( Luke 3:23) the son of Heli, which is a legal term meaning "in-law," or "by-law," i.e., Jesus was the legal son of Joseph through marriage. The lineage which ends at Christ through Mary in Luke 3:23-39 runs, not through Solomon, but his brother "Nathan" ( Luke 3:31, 2Sam. 5:13, 14) and brings us all the way back to Almighty God Himself in Luke 3:38. Our Lord and Savior is called the "Son of David" because He was promised to David in ( 2Sam. 7:12, 16).

Alex on Romans 9 v 8 implies th real children of God are spirits , WE ARE JUST JOINT HEIRS WITH THE H.G. OUR NEW INNERMAN, We are the mother simply b/c we birth the child, th H.G. as Jesus said that which is born of the spirit is spirit, Who is my mother he asked ? them that hear th word that good seed and keeps it INITIATING A BIRTH OF CHRIST IN US. THATS Y HE CALLS HIMSELF THE SON OF MAN.When Jeremiah spoke of the new covenant, he saw all men in travail and birth pains,But Jeremiah saw a Child coming that was gonna rule all nations, he saw all men giving birth to this Child and God said this was gonna be his battle ax the child which is the H.G. Jesus said that when he the spirit of truth is come he will reprove the world of sin and judgement & RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Andres, if you Google Ancient Astronomy, Astronomy in Ancient China, etc. you will discover Astronomy is a science that was developed and known to different cultures as far back as 5,000 years or more. The Chinese, Mayans, Aztecs, Middle Easterners, you name it, they were all well versed in Astronomy.

There is a difference however, between Astronomy (which is the science) and Astrology (which is an esoteric practice). Astronomy is based on mathematical calculations, physical laws, and scientific fact. The Pyramids in Egypt were built using precise mathematical calculations about the movement of stars, planets and constellations. Although in different places around the earth they had different names for constellations, the Mayans and Chinese built structures, architectural and engineering wonders of history that reflected that knowledge.

All of these cultures worshiped the order, reliability and predictability of the movement of stars. The earliest writings we have are the Sanskrit from India and the Babylonian Epic of Gilgamesh. Even in these writings we find evidence of their knowledge of the universe, mathematics, science, physical laws. They used them to develop calendars. They were able to calculate precisely Equinox and Solstice, seasons and rotation of the earth.

So, Pleiades and Orion were nothing new to Amos or Job. The rest of the world was well developed by the time of Amos, who lived approximately 750 - 800 years before Christ. Alexander the Great lived in the mid 300's before Christ. Julius Ceasar 50 BC, the Pyramids of Egypt 2,500 years before Christ. Noah lived 3,000 years BC. It is believed the Book of Job appeared 600 years BC. But the story itself is of someone that predates that time. Job is, of course, a precursor of Christ suffering and resurrection. But from Chapter 38 on, we see how Job had a developed understanding of the Universe. Moses lived approximately 1,500 years BC.

Ruben, here's a technique that's a bit different than the other really good suggestions offered. If you can imagine your life as a pizza, and each slice represents a different aspect of your life. One slice is work, another is church, another slice is family, and another slice might be recreation....and so on. When a slice or a part of that slice is missing, there's a hole. And, we being our human selves try to fill that hole. Often we do it with quick fixes that aren't lasting and negative. The key is to find a long term positive to fill that missing slice. I honestly don't care if you have same sex attraction, but is that new? Is there a void, maybe intimacy or love or a connectedness that is missing. I feel lust, not love. I fall in "Love" with every pretty girl I see. My opinion all humans want to love and be loved. We seek love from fellow people. WE really need to seek God's love. It's harder sometimes, because it's not the BLAM in your face love that we sometimes get from people. Don't get me wrong, it certainly can be. But, it's different. So, think about is something missing? Is it sexual lust, that is looking to fill a void? I never think bars or clubs are the best places to meet long-term partners. That's why their dark and alcohol is involved. Online dating seems to be about hook ups. Use your other areas of life to help you as you come to terms and learn coping strategies to help you. If, this is what you want. You may slip, but keep coming back to God and coming back to scripture. People in the faith community seem to quickly condemn people who have same sex attraction. That's you and your relationship with God, not them and you. Use the SMART method of goal setting Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-line (does it have a time restriction). Is your goal to be celibate those things? Meet like-minded people in healthy environments. I pray for God to open doors for people go through and close doors He doesn't want us in. God Loves You.

I mis read that I think as I agree with you that there is no verse in the Bible that says God created another woman except Eve. That is right but over the years I have seen questions on who did so and so marry because apparently sometimes people ask that as if there was no one they could figure out ; and now I am even wondering if I had that wrong also; but time will tell as I will be waiting to see if I can see that type of question again. Yes God only created Adam and eve from adam.
