I don't believe God restored Israel in 1948 . They have yet to Acknowledge Jesus as lord .

The promised land was given to the British after the ww1 , they defeated the Ottoman empire in war . The British where given the promised land believe it or not check history . The Ottoman Empire signed a peace treaty with The British and ceased to be a power .

During ww2 the Jews made deals with the British to help them win a war with Germany etc . The Jews got USA into the war and turned the tide big time . Shorty after Jews had a much easier time getting back home . The British won the war the Jews did not , or was able to defeat the Ottoman Empire .

The British did not pick a fight they just finished it .

Spoils go to the victor . Jews made business deals to enter a conquerored land .

The Lord does restore Israel of old but it happens when He comes back .

Good question Ready and on reflection Rick I love those great verses saying that you see the fruit and the value of it resulting from correct doctrine.

Not being legalistic and adding to the work on the cross and showing fruit Eg Not even judging others who are legalistic but loving them into the kingdom and toward the real truth.

    Hello Mishael,

If I may add a little perspective on Mark 13:30. And please know that I am not being argumentative as you mention you are not looking for an argument. I'm not looking for one either. I truly respect you for the things you share here and I always enjoy reading your posts. Thank you for that. You don't even need to respond back. I just want to share some info that I've learned on this word generation that is used here. The word in the Greek text is the word GENEA, and it has nothing to do with years. It means a race or kind of people. I'm not sure if you recall, but I remember that there was a group back in the mid 80's that said that Christ was coming back in 1988. They came up with this calculation from taking the 1948 date and adding 40 years to that. At that time, they considered a generation to be 40 years. So they took the word generation, and put 40 years to it and came up with Jesus returning in 1988. Well, that didn't happen. But since that time, there has been other groups coming up with exact dates of Jesus' return. They also believe that the word generation means years when that is not what the word GENEA means. It means a race or kind of people. In Mark 13:30 where Jesus said this generation shall not pass, the generation, (Race) He was speaking of is the Jews. What Jesus was saying was this generation, meaning this people (Jews), they are not going to pass away until all things are fulfilled. They are my chosen people, the elect.

Again, I'm not trying to be argumentative. and I don't expect any response unless the Lord leads you to respond. I just wanted to share this definition of GENEA with you. If it did refer to years, I would agree with you on the number 70. But then again, we've passed that date also. Have a very blessed day!

  • Adam - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 4 years ago
    Hi Earl,

I don't understand your definition of the word then. To help me understand, did you choose to type a response to me or did something force you to do that beyond your will? It sounds like you don't believe you have some kind of freedom to do what you want, but I can't relate to that, because I have complete freedom and that can be used for good or evil. I'm typing a response to you willingly because I choose to. Maybe you're not? If you feel like you're being controlled by another force against your will then there's probably nothing left to discuss on the topic, as I just can't relate and is hard to believe it.

    Joshua 24:15

    God bless...

Hi T. Lewis What you stated is absolutely correct many times in the old and new testament men of God did or told others what to do to Get Gods results and they did not question they just did it. Noah was told to build an Ark because the earth was going to be flooded by rain and until that time there is no record of rain upon the earth also he was given specific instructions on how to build a boat. New testament Jesus Christ ask the disciples how are we going to feed over 5 thousand with a few loves of bread and fish then told the disciples what to do and God supplied the need. In our day and time when we dare to believe whats written or told to us and act we can have the same results. I know a women who stopped in the middle of a teaching prayed for her son who at that exact moment had a loaded gun in his mouth pulled the trigger and the bullet discharged and turned into powder, later on he called his mother about it and she told him she prayed at that time and the result was him being born again. Our Job is to Let Go and Let God Work!

Your explanation that states "We obviously can't achieve perfection in this life but we can strive for these characteristics."

(Reference: 2 Corinthians 13:11) is not what I understand to be the case. According to the following references, man can be perfect; not in his own strength but in Jesus Christ: Deut 18:13, 1Kngs 8:61, Job 1:1 & 2:3, Ps 37:37 & 138:8. Prv 2:21 & 11:5, Lk 6:40, Jhn 17:23, Eph 4:13, Col 1:28 and Jas 3:2

    Perhaps my understanding is lacking.

The subject of the pre - trib "rapture" has been discussed even from the first century church. Proper research will show that Ephraem The Syrian spoke about this subject in one of his sermon's entitled "On the Last Times, the Anti-christ, and the End of the World" in 373AD. A translation of the sermon includes the following segment:

"For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins."

The rest of the sermon deals with the events of the last days, starting with the rapture, the Great Tribulation of 3 1/2 years under the Anti-christ's rule, then the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe in the pre-trib rapture, but I will be the first to say that this does not prove that it is correct, but just to clarify that the view of the pre-trib rapture is not a new subject to the church as many would believe. God bless everyone in your service to the Lord Jesus. Most important is for us to carry out is Matthew 28:18-20.

I thought the rods were a switch from the wood of a certain tree that was known to affect lambing / birthing due to the substance it excreted into the water and the animals drank it

False doctrine is like adding something to the Lords word that isn't meant to be there.

Like poison it can destroy, pervert and mislead believers. This can be a tool for Satan who is twisted and very good at hiding subtly behind things that can appear innocuous.
  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 30 - 4 years ago
Hello Don. That's a great question that I have never been able to figure out. I had to resort to a commentary but confess that I still don't understand how placing these rods before the flocks could produce offspring of certain colouring. So I will copy Albert Barnes' comment on this for your consideration:

"Jacob devises means to provide himself with a flock in these unfavorable circumstances. His first device is to place party-colored rods before the eyes of the cattle at the rutting season, that they might drop lambs and kids varied with speckles, patches, or streaks of white. He had learned from experience that there is a congruence between the colors of the objects contemplated by the dams at that season and those of their young. At all events they bare many straked, speckled, and spotted lambs and kids. He now separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flock toward the young of the rare colors, doubtless to affect them in the same way as the pilled rods. "Put his own folds by themselves." These are the party-colored cattle that from time to time appeared in the flock of Laban.

In order to secure the stronger cattle, Jacob added the second device of employing the party-colored rods only when the strong cattle conceived. The sheep in the East lamb twice a year, and it is supposed that the lambs dropped in autumn are stronger than those dropped in the spring. On this supposition Jacob used his artifice in the spring, and not in the autumn. It is probable, however, that he made his experiments on the healthy and vigorous cattle, without reference to the season of the year. The result is here stated. "The man brake forth exceedingly" - became rapidly rich in hands and cattle."

I hope this helps you somewhat - I'm still unsure how this could work & just accept this account as given.

I've wondered that too. GOD directs some people to do out of the ordinary things & out of the ordinary things happen when they've done what GOD directed them to do. I think we're thinking too much into it like 'if we tried it will it work' here's some other examples

Exodus 17:6, Numbers 20:1-11, notice Numbers 20:8 GOD said "speak to the rock" , Numbers 20:12, Numbers 13 & 14,

    Genesis 31:12,

Gal. 3 : 16 Now unto Abraham and his seed were the PROMISES made but he says not unto seeds plural ( natual Israel ) but unto 1 seed which is Christ . Thus there has to be an Israel of God which is the multiplication of Christ in humanity via his seed as the field is the world . Thus the wheat is the H.G. the Child of PROMISE. Ya gotta realize that he is not sowing anything of this world but a heavenly seed of his own self ( his seed ) which is the living word and to whom the word came it made them Gods so we see that he is truly sowing the very seed of God . Remember God swore by his very self when he made that Promise of multiplication, Thus we will all birth a baby Christ which is the H.G. the Child of Promise .mankinds fruit unto God via that good seed the WORD. Thus he is truly mans offspring via that good seed . Now we can see y he refers to himself as the Son of Man. Mankind is gonna have a baby Christ which is the H.G that Child of PROMISE. Thats ye he refers to the H.G. AS THE Promise simply b/c the H.G. is the multiplication of Christ a ( baby Christ born in us vis his seed ) whosoever receiveth one such child in my name receiveth Me. Remember Jeremiah saw ALL Men in travail and CHILD BIRTH, Simply b/c he is gonna sow his seed in all the world. Being bornagain of an incorruptible seed etc which is the contents of that BOOK that has been sealed till the last days. I'm just trying to turn the hearts of the Fathers to the Children, his Children the babes and sucklings thata re gonna be born in us via his seed the contents of the book.

Hi Ready Correct doctrine always produces positive fruit and is a Glory to God,I.E. in luke 4:31+32 he taught in the synagogues and his word was with power again. In luke 7:1-10 with the centurion servant the centurion knew and believed that what Jesus Christ spoke words doctrine produced positive results good fruit. By their fruits they shall be known. In 2 Peter 1-8 verse 8 Fir if these things be in you and abound they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • David - In Reply on Genesis 30 - 4 years ago
Hi Don It had nothing to do with what he fed them it had everything to do with following Gods instructions and seeing the results. It is a great example of receiving information or instruction from God its like when the children of Israel marched around Jericho seven times then blew trumpets and down came a wall. By the five senses natural mind it doesn't make senses but they followed the man of Gods instructions and got Gods deliverance. Throughout Gods word when people listened to men of God believed and acted they always got deliverance. When the man of God Elisha in 2 Kings 4:1-7 ask a widow what can I do for you, she explained she was broke and he gave her specific instructions and she did them and got Gods deliverance. He ask her yo do something that made no sense but she obeyed. In the gospels this happened many times between Jesus Christ and the disciples where he ask them to do something that by the senses made no senses but he walked by the spirit and knew God would always meet the need.
