These words spoken from the saint of all saints!
You cannot separate the law from the gospel! It is impossible! It is like denying the water you drink , comes from heaven!
The law is indeed a schoolmaster, it is the conscience of man that will drive Him to the cross! If he has one, and it has not yet been seared like the steak He eats!
Nepotism is driving force within the church. It is the very corruption thats exists within the sinful and neglectful heart of man! This heart that says one thing and does another! It denies the law, how than can it ever see itself?
This of course why God chose Paul! Oh yes, a master of the Law! Oh yes there is much for you to learn ,as you lead man into hell itself! Repent and be baptized
It has all the information you need to be secure in your commitment to God. I've read it and it covers all questions.
Having a lot of doubts and questions can easily be solved if we'll be honest with ourselves. You can pray a prayer of recommitment, and be sure all is well between you and the Lord.
Do some Googling for a Church near you. Get involved later. :D One of the best "jobs" is greeter. It's nice to be the friendly face people see first. Churches that teach just the Bible are best. We learn more.
Jesus knows you and He wants you to be secure in your relationship with Him. Let me know how it's going. Keep coming back.
Check out the Testimonies Link too. Many people are going through the same thing.
I agree with you in that we can be pressured into "appeasing" the wishes of others that love us and want us to be saved.
We may differ a little in our thoughts in how a call to Christ for salvation yields results. I made a request for Christ for His saving grace at the age of 12, no idea what I was asking Him to provide. No guidance was given by the church, just congratulations on being saved.
I am so thankful God have me life to learn just what receiving His salvation involved and what my heart had to feel for this salvation to actually affect me and my life.
My second appeal to Christ that I receive His salvation had an immediate effect on my internal being. No waiting.
Christ will not go where He is not invited with heartfelt sincerity and desire for Him to enter. Once invited with a pleading spirit He will enter your being and provide the gift of the Spirit.
The key is our desire being expressed with sincerity. To me, it seems we both lacked sincerity on our first asking of Christ for His giving us salvation.
Paul was certainly set aside by God at his conception for the purpose God had planned for him. So we're others such as Samuel and John the Baptizer. Others even today.
I firmly believe the most effective tool in the work for Christ is a person that has experienced the opposite of God's expectations of us in our lives. Thus, Paul was truly prepared for his calling by Christ. Actually twice; initially prepared by his education to refute religious opposition and then by his actions against Christians.
Paul's salvation was instantaneous. He just had a learning curve before Christ could use him.
May God grant you a blessed day my fellow Christian.
Bill
You have insights that I really find stirring to my quest for scriptural understanding. I want to view more of them.
Your observation on the amount of time the average "Christian" spends in study is so sad and true.
I too was that way for possibly 50 years of my relationship with God and Christ. Yes, I am an old codger.
Too many years I spent being told what a verse meant and what to think about my relationship with God and Christ. I am so appreciative that God has permitted me to live long enough to find truth and not opinions.
Should we never speak together again in this existence, I pray to meet you in heaven and we find our answers from the Source itself.
May God bless and keep you throughout the remainder of your earthly life.
Thanks for being a brother.
Bill
A sure sign .
I know the answer just pointing it out .
Therefor, the write understanding of the second verse of this 26th. chapter of the book of David's Psalms, can't be otherwhise then, when we face probation and temptation, while keeping God's commandements with all our heart, and practicing that faith, that works through love, then The Spirit of The Lord, can deliver us from evil, and give us an humble heart, to perseveer in th way of The Lord. This is Jesus's example, and like Jacob, we wil see the angels of God, descending and climbing the stairs that reaches Even. We wil be seated on heavenly places in the presence of Jesus, through His Holy Spirit. Amn!
If a person is in error they need teaching , if they refuse they are a heretic. Being disobedient to God s word .
Being human is no excuse .
The only way to be ready is become a Christian now. Not much is left that's left to appear. The end times were described as a woman giving birth. Starts off slow, speeds up, pain increases.
The only way to survive is to choose Jesus. They'll force people to take the Mark to receive food; but there won't be enough food and water for everyone. Later in the Tribulation all the water will turn to blood. You have to preach to your children & tell them about the signs. Tell them to search YouTube videos of disasters happening today! Things are getting worse. The USA doesn't even really have a president anymore. He's too old. He's not Leading!
Watch a preacher, Greg Laurie on YouTube. He teaches often on the End of Days (the Rapture).
Keep coming back in here. Don't worry too much.
So, I'm at the point of wondering whether this lying spirit came from a volunteer (v21) from God's Presence, or from an evil spirit? And of course, the implications of all of that & whether that spirit (good or evil) took on Samuel's form. Some who may be following these threads might wonder as to the amount of time we are spending on this, but I find that we do learn more of the Operation of God in matters that could well occur today, & whether what we might consider an evil act, is actually the performance of God's Will to accomplish His Purposes. But would God use the services of a devil, is a moot question.
I have been active in other threads for the past couple of years, mostly responding to questions, but I don't think this Site allows one to call on a name to see what that person has written, maybe for good reason as personalities might become the focus, rather than general fellowship around the Word. Sometimes there is another 'Chris' that comes on, but hopefully one can tell from the material & manner in which comments are presented, that it's not one & the same.
I continue to look forward to reading your comments to others, & though we may not always see eye to eye, I know we do learn much from the experience & in endeavouring in building each other up in the Word & faith. The Lord bless you richly Bill.
And let's face it, the Revelation is generally acknowledged as the final set of prophecies for the close of this age & ushering in of the new. I'm unsure which 'prophet', since John's prophetical vision, can add to that Book - some of course have tried, whether prophesying events, dates, etc., & all have proved false. At most, self-acclaimed prophets can make a hit-and-miss forecast, a little like clairvoyants of today. A prophecy from God must be true in every respect, or else it's false. If a brother brings forth a prophecy that is already declared in God's Word, it's not prophetical, but instructional, whether as a warning or an exhortation. We must not convert prophetical utterances found in the Scriptures to mean something else today - this is false & misleading.
John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
He will never leave u are loved. Amen
John chapter 3.
This is one of my favorite Websites to study from. Lay it down next to your Study Reference Columns in Your Bible. They send you to other examples or prophesies. "The big picture"
I haven't used it in a while, so maybe I should dive back in, huh Dan?
You'll love the Topical List. It's all links.
Also,
I found it sorta fascinating to google artist paintings and charts, of the levels and compartments of hell. Doesn't mean they are all correct. People donating art come from all kinds of churches. this is not rote. Some have scriptures on them. We have to VERIFY everything from only the Bible. Cannot teach a half/truth to a lamb in arms. If it proves wrong, toss it out.
Also, people have created Genealogy Charts. That takes a lot of time to lay it beside the KJV and verify. That's how I found the Two Enoch's. One descended from Cain. The other a descendant of SETH. Always follow Jesus's bloodline ancestors.
The Bible will advance to a place; and maybe back up to add more info; then it goes forward to where you left off. I guess each writer in the Bible had to listen intently to the Spirit of God.
As we do.
With Nimrod, now that's a rabbit trail that leads to the Chaldeans and idol worship and all manner of evil. The book of Enoch (from Cains lineage), I believe a lot of it is occult. We don't need to study that. We have Ephesians 6. Keep ourselves unspotted from the world and that which is evil.
It's better to get in the Gospels, and model after Jesus. I was told by a church mother, it takes only a moment to hit the floor on our knees in prayer. if you feel timid, read what happened to Gideon. :)
Peace be on us.
